Meet your partner

Marinette placed the phone down excitedly. She'd been chosen, finally in her 15 years of dance she'd made it.

"Mama, Papa, I'm in ... I made it."

Within the matter of seconds her parents had engulfed her into a hug. Marinette Dupain-Cheng was going to be one of the professional dancers on the UK version of Strictly Miraculous Dancing.

She had loved ballroom dancing from the age of 6 and became a World Champion by the time she was 10 years old, winning it a total of 6 times before retiring from competitive dance at 18. She was now 21 and about to tick off another dance related item in her bucket list.

"I need to go and call Luka," she squealed, running u the stairs to her room.

Luka had been Marinette's last competitive partner, performing together from the tender age of 13 to 18. They were 4 times World Champions and best friends.

She pulled up his number and pressed the button for FaceTime, she needed to see his face. He was going to lose it.

The phone rang out to no answer. Growling, she found the number for Luka's partner and tried to call again. After four rings, Russ answered the phone.

"Hey Marinette, you ok?"

"I'm fine, is Luka there?"

"I'll go get him," as Russ left the phone, Marinette could hear a faint beat in the background.

The jive.

Marinette began to move around and bounce to the rhythm in the background. Tap, down, tap, down, kick, ball change. Tap, down, American turn, kick, ball change.

"You need to work on your face Nette, remember the jive is fun."

Luka's voice broke her from what she was currently doing.

"Luka! Guess what?"

"You're changing your career path and coming to work at the studio with me and Russ?"

"You wish," she responded, "I made it, Luka, I'm going to London baby!"

"No way!"

"Yes way! You're looking at one of the new professionals on Strictly Miraculous Dancing."

Marinette screamed, Luka screamed, Russ even came back for a scream.

"I'm so proud of you, sweetie."

Marinette did a little dance on the spot, as both guys joined in with her.

"So Marinette, who's your lucky partner?"

Adrien Agreste walked into Her Majesty's Theatre in London. He was here to meet his dance partner after being pursued for the UK version of Strictly Miraculous Dancing.

When his father had approached him about taking part in the show he was actually quite excited. He'd been living in London for just over a year now and was doing well in celebrity status. Taking part on Strictly would not only help his fathers clothing line, which he part time modelled for, but would also help support his charity work.

Dressed in a Gabriel labelled suit, Adrien made his way towards the producer, ready for the next instructions.

He had been given a briefing for the show and that he was partnered with one of the new professionals. All he knew was that she originated from France, and that she was a 6 time World Champion. He'd been forbidden from looking her up on the internet. They wanted to capture an authentic reaction on camera.

Being a supermodel for the majority of his life helped Adrien to be camera ready in an instant. It was also thanks to these skills that he filmed his intros rather quickly and was now ready to meet his partner.

"In 3 ... 2 ... 1 ..."

The producer counted down, signalling Adrien with silent hand gestures to open the theatre door and begin to walk to the seats in front of the stage.

Adrien had made it half way down the stalls gangway when a light appeared on the stage. It was here where he was met by the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.

Upon the stage, which housed 'The Phantom of the Opera', was a woman as captivating as a shooting star on a dark lonely night. She danced across the stage with such Grace and dignity, it had frozen him to the spot.

The camera ready facade he usually walked around with disappeared, leaving behind the awestruck presences of a denied man.

The music stopped when the Angel on the stage held her finishing position. It was then he noticed what she was wearing. A red catsuit and red spotted mask. She looked like a dancing Ladybug. He realised then what the song was which had been playing 'Luck be a Lady'.

She made her way down to Adrien and took him into a hug. Like a buffoon, he just stood there for around five seconds before reacting. What the hell was wrong with him?

"Hi, I'm Marinette." She stepped away and took off her mask. Her eyes were like zircon gemstones and he was mesmerised.

"Adrien Agreste," he half shouted at her, causing her to laugh, and oh boy what a sound that was.

"I know, I'm from Paris too."

Adrien let out a laugh more suited to Janice from Friends and inwardly cringed. His father was going to murder him and bury him in the walls of the mansion. He was meant to be sexy and suave, not incompetent and goofy.

As if a message was sent to the Gods about his pathetic human behaviour, one of the hosts appeared with a card.

"Adrien, Marinette, are you ready to find out your first dance style?"
