Adrien
Just as Plagg and the other kwami (who he assumed was named Tikki) were about to fly away, they stopped, and looked back in his direction. Adrien's eyes widened, and called them again, this time louder. "PLAGG!"
"Adrien?" he heard his kwami call for him, and saw a flare of relief in Plagg's eyes as he spotted him.
"Adrien!" Plagg cried when he saw the blonde-haired boy, flying down to hug him. Because of the akuma's curse, they were practically the same size.
"Plagg, stop it!" Adrien complained, but he knew that Plagg knew he didn't mean it. He was just glad to see someone who could get him somewhere where he wouldn't drown to death. He caught glance of Ladybug's- no, Marinette's- kwami hovering in the distance, watching the happy reunion.
"Hi, Adrien," she greeted when Plagg finally let go of him. "My name's Tikki!"
"Hi, Tikki," Adrien waved. "Nice to meet you."
Tikki laughed and flew in circles around him; for a moment, he felt jealous of Marinette. Her kwami was so cheerful, so energetic... so not Plagg. But his kwami was great too, even when Plagg repeatedly asked him for cheese and when he lied to get out of doing things. He was perfect.
"Adrien, we're going to get you somewhere where you can actually spend the night," Tikki told him. "If you want-"
"Not Marinette's," Adrien interrupted. He saw Tikki's face fall, and quickly added "At least, not now. I... I just need to get my thoughts together first, then I'll make a decision."
Tikki looked relieved, and Plagg spoke for her. "Sounds good to me. Why don't we make a quick stop to your house first, it will give me and Tikki a chance to rest a bit, and give you some time to think, and pick up some belongings, you know, like my cheese," Plagg added smugly, and Adrien sighed.
"Okay, Plagg," Adrien said. "But wait, how are we goin- AAH!" Adrien screamed when Plagg lifted him off the ground and started flying. "PLAGG, warn me next time you do that!"
Plagg laughed at his reaction. "Nice try, kid," he said, holding Adrien my the shoulders and flying in the direction his house must be. Adrien wasn't good at remembering places, even as Chat Noir. His father had kept him locked up for so long, and even before that his parents never really let him explore the city. As a hero, I should know this! Why don't I!?
They kept flying for a couple more minutes, Tikki hovering close by. He heard the kwamis start a conversation, but he was too tired to listen in. He found himself staring at the city below, marveling at how different it looked at night. Sure, he got to see it sometimes as Chat Noir, but usually he was too focused on his heroics to pay attention to the scenery. Adrien saw street lights flicker, and he heard some dogs bark. Through some windows he saw people watching TV, people reading a good book... and when he looked up, he saw some stars through the dark clouds. Tucked up in his kwami's arms, he found himself falling asleep. The last thing he heard was rain drops and an icy wind, and the sound of kwamis happily chatting.
"ADRIEN!"
Adrien woke with a jolt, realizing that he wasn't in the rain anymore. He looked around and spotted a smug looking Plagg, and an angry Tikki.
"Plagg," Tikki scolded, "You should have let him sleep. He's had a long day."
"No no, I'm fine," Adrien tried to reassure the ladybug-like kwami. "But where are... we..."
Adrien looked around and noticed the space was very familiar, and realized that they were standing on his bed. His giant room looked even larger, and he couldn't help feeling overwhelmed. He took a deep breath, and told himself that he was fine, he was fine, he was fine. I am fine.
"Wait, Plagg, the cameras!" Adrien exclaimed suddenly, realizing that even if kwamis couldn't be seen by camera, he certainly could. "If my father sees me, he'll-"
"Don't worry, already destroyed it," Plagg said coolly. Tikki face-palmed herself.
"Well, Adrien," she said, "Now that you're up, is there anything that you need to take with you? Unless... you want to stay here, of course, I understand-"
Adrien interrupted the kwami. "No no, I'm not staying here. Once my father finds out I'm 'missing'" he used quotes around the word, "He'll rip up this entire room to find clues. And I don't feel like being ripped up," Adrien said, trying to joke a little.
"Then where will you go?" Plagg asked him. He noticed that Tikki went silent; like his kwami, she didn't want to see harm come to her owner. Tikki didn't seem like the type to force someone into doing something, but he knew that Marinette would be upset if he didn't show, and Tikki would as well.
"I think I'll find an alleyway to hide in until Marinette stops the akuma," Adrien said, laughing as both kwamis looked at him as if he was insane.
"Are you serious!?" Tikki questioned him. "Adrien, that's not-"
"Relax, relax," Adrien said, trying to contain his laughter. "I want to go to Marinette's. If she'll have me."
Tikki smiled delightedly. "Thank goodness. I thought... never mind. If it's okay, I'm going to go tell Marinette about her guests," she added, smiling as Adrien nodded. She waved to them from the open window, then flew off with her news. Once she was out of sight, Adrien turned to Plagg.
"Go get some cheese, Plagg," Adrien told him, and was surprised when Plagg refused.
"Adrien, let's get you sorted out first. Do you want something to eat?" he asked, and Adrien felt his stomach grumble.
"Yes please, if there's anything small enough in the kitchen," Adrien answered. He watched as Plagg flew off into the distance, returning a few minutes later with a small piece of something.
"Ripped this off a croissant I found in the kitchen," Plagg said, sighing fondly as Adrien practically inhaled the pastry.
"Thanks Plagg," Adrien mumbled between bites. He'd always loved croissants. When he was younger, his mother used to bake them all the time. They were flaky and sweet, full of buttery goodness. When his mother left, he had to hang onto the pieces she left behind, and one of those pieces were a certain breakfast pastry. Eating it gave him a little bit of familiarity, and it gave him back some confidence.
"No problem, kid," Plagg said gruffly, though Adrien knew he didn't mean it that way. "Anything else you want to take with you?" Plagg asked him.
Adrien looked around the room, thinking. "My phone and its charger," he said almost immediately. Plagg flew over to where it rested on a nearby table, and grabbing the charger as well, dropped the now-gigantic phone onto the bed.
"Anything else?" Plagg asked, and Adrien shook his head.
"Everything is too big for me anyways," he explained.
"Okay, let's go," Plagg said, picking up the phone and charger in one hand and Adrien in the other. He started to fly towards the open window, wondering if his lady would remain his lady after he revealed himself. He wanted to sleep but forced himself to stay awake, wanting to remain alert. However, he was still wary; he hadn't entirely forgiven Marinette, and wasn't planning to any time soon. But he knew that if there were enough sparks left they could eventually build the fire back up... and their flame was strong enough to destroy entire continents. Sparks were hard to keep though; they were so easy to destroy. Adrien sighed.
If it was destroyed, he knew he would be the one that did it.
And he didn't want to.
I hope I don't do something stupid.

Marinette / Ladybug
"HE'S WHAT!?" Marinette yelped, shocked by what Tikki had told her. She'd never thought in a million life times that her kitten would want to come back to her, to attempt to forgive her.
"Marinette, don't wake your parents!" Tikki whisper yelled, and Marinette took a deep breath, trying to get a hold of herself. Focus, Marinette! You need to get yourself ready.
Marinette started running around her room, trying to tidy up the space. Fabrics were left unattended in random spots, and she herself tripped on a spool of thread, falling to the ground with a yelp. The rubbed her head in disgust, then got up, sighing in disappointment.
"Let me help," Tikki said, flying around to put her sewing supplies back into their proper places. Marinette was very grateful for her kwami; she couldn't remember a time when she didn't have Tikki by her side, supporting her. There were definitely ups and downs to being Ladybug, but having Tikki had become a new highlight in her life. Full of energy, Marinette helped to tidy the space as well, leaving it organized and clean when they were done.
"Thanks, Tikki," Marinette said gratefully, and Tikki gave her a friendly nod.
"Go get some medical supplies set up in the bathroom," Tikki said. "He has some scratches that need to be mended to."
Marinette nodded briskly, about to leave the room when she heard something.
Something that sounded like...
A tap on the window.
Sharply, she turned her head around, and she could feel her heart pounding out of her chest as she saw the little black kwami outside the window, anxious to come in. She opened it, grateful that the rain had stopped. She didn't want Chat and his kwami to get soaked again, and she didn't want the water to come into her room. Her parents would certainly question that.
Marinette watched as Plagg dropped a phone and charger on her desk, but she found that she recognized the familiar case. Was that... Adrien's phone?
Watching with eyes wide, Marinette watched as Plagg drop Chat on her desk. Her heart lurched as she recognized him, confirming what she already knew.
Chat was Adrien.
Chat. Was. Adrien.
Chat.
Was.
ADRIEN.
Marinette started crying. It was Adrien all this time, her kind classmate, her first love, her partner, the person who protected her no matter the costs. She loved him, and yet... she hurt him. She had left him, the love of her life, alone, just when he had needed her most.
"Marinette...?" Adrien asked, groaning a little as he tried to stand up. Tikki was right; there were lots of visible injuries covering him, and he looked like he was in pain. Marinette winced.
"H-Hi, Adrien," Marinette said, not knowing what to say. It's not like this situation happened in everyday life. "So... your'e Chat Noir?"
"And you're My Lady," Adrien answered, and Marinette blushed despite herself. I never thought he'd call me that ever again...
"Uh, yeah," Marinette said awkwardly, shifting her gaze, breaking down again. "A-Adrien. I just wanted to say-"
"I heard," Adrien interrupted, and Marinette was dumbfounded for a second before she realized that he had heard her apology earlier. She blushed, remembering what she had said.
"And...?" she asked, trying not to sound rude.
Adrien shrugged. "I dunno, M'lady. Takes a lot for a cat to forgive someone for getting him wet." He winked, trying to make it a joke, but all Marinette heard was that he couldn't forgive her. She started crying again, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"No no, Marinette! That's not what I meant!" Adrien said, trying to steer their conversation in another direction.
"I'm... I'm really sorry, Adrien," Marinette mumbled through her sobs. "I hope you know that."
"I do know, Mari," Adrien said. "And while I'm not really ready to completely forgive you..."
"I'm ready to try."
Marinette started crying again, but the tears were different. It's as if little bundles of joy were dancing down her face. She brought her hands to the desk, and Adrien walked onto them, willingly. She lifted her cupped hands to her face, and she felt her kitten's hands on her face, trying to dry her tears.
"There are sparks," Adrien started to tell her. "And while it's really easy for them to disappear into nothing, if they're strong, they'll grow into a fire again. And we... well, do I even have to say?"
Marinette smiled at his inspirational words. "I love you, Adrien. I really, really, do. As both Adrien and Chat. And I hope that's okay to say."
Adrien smiled himself. "I love you too, Princess," he said emotionally. "I always have."
Marinette continued crying tears of happiness, and Adrien cried himself. At last they found each other, when it seemed that the universe was doing everything it could to tear them apart. From a distance, both kwamis watched, happy that their owners made up at last. They stayed there for a while, not wanting the moment to end, until Adrien sat back and rubbed his eyes.
"I'm sorry, Mari," he said, yawning a little. "I'm really tired..."
Marinette smiled fondly at him. "You go to sleep," she told him gently. "Just sleep, and I'll watch over you. I'll treat your wounds."
Adrien smiled drowsily, and curled up in her palm. She almost squealed at how cute he was, but she didn't want to disrupt his slumber. After a few short moments, he was fast asleep, using her hand for warmth. She smiled, then walked to the bathroom to get some of his scratches patched up.
Thank you, Adrien, for trusting me.
We will keep the sparks.
And they will burn.
