Chapter 5: A Spark Of What Had Once Been... (Part 2)

Hi everyone!  SylveonKwami here.  Hope you're all ready for this part!  Sorry for the cliffhanger (tho was it really?)

AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN! (to those who celebrate it of course).  Anyone going out?  Comment your costume if you have one!!!!! (I almost forgot to update this because of Halloween prep but I did it!  YAY ME)

Also, since I used this song before, could any of you suggest to me a song that could better fit the chapter?  Or does it work?  Comment below, if you can.  I would appreciate it :D

Anyways, let's start... I won't keep you guys from this anymore.

Enjoy :P

Marinette

"What do you mean YOU CAN'T FIND HIM!?" Marinette asked, shocked.  Would Chat have really ran away from his kwami?  How far could he have gotten anyways?

"I MEAN I CAN'T FIND HIM!" Plagg roared, looking upset and frustrated.

"Okay, okay, every calm down," Tikki said, flying towards Plagg.  "I'm sure we'll find him, right Plagg?"

Plagg sighed, tears coming to his eyes.  "I... I don't know."

Marinette calmed down a little when she saw her kwami go and hug Plagg, the normally chill kwami getting all emotional.  Just listen to Tikki, Marinette.  Calm down...

To bad her brain wasn't listening to her at the moment.

"We have to go," Marinette said urgently.  "Tikki-"

"NO, Marinette!" Tikki said, shaking her head.  "I told you, you must stay.  You've been through a lot tonight," she added, looking concerned.

"Well," Plagg put in, "Adr- er, I mean Chat Noir, might come out if he knew Ladybug was coming for him, you know?" Plagg said, quickly fixing his little mess up.

"Please, Tikki, I need to go and save him.  I shouldn't have left him like that.  I'll bring him back with me, I don't even care about the reveal anymore!  I..." Marinette's voice broke at the last sentence.  "I just want my Chaton back," she said, a few tears wetting her face.

"Well, only if you promise to stay safe and protect yourself... then let's go," Tikki agreed reluctantly, knowing Marinette would probably just leave anyways.

Marinette nodded to her kwami, smiling.  "Yes!  Yes, I promise, Tikki," she said quickly, determination flowing through her.  "We will find him!"

"Come on, just transform already," Plagg said, getting bored.  Clearly her was reverting back to his usual state.

"Tikki, SPOTS ON!" she exclaimed, feeling the magic wash over her as her suit, mask, and yoyo formed.  When the transformation finished, she turned to Plagg.

"Lead the way," Ladybug said, determined to bring her partner back somewhere safe.

"Oh good, you're done," Plagg said, flying out of the hatch that lead to her balcony.  "Follow me."

Adrien / Chat Noir

Adrien didn't like rain.

Whenever he heard it, he was reminded of the day his father told him his mother had disappeared, the day he told him that he would probably never see her again.  That night, black and grey clouds had covered the sky, as if mourning her with him.

Now, when he was out in the rain by himself, stuck with this stupid akuma's curse, he was cold, he was hungry, he was scared, he wanted someone... to be with him.

He probably shouldn't have run away from Plagg, then.

He sighed.  No one's ever gonna find me, Adrien thought despairingly.  I'm just going to die out here, aren't I?

He looked at his finger, that one that flaunted his signature ring.  What about the Miraculous?  Doesn't Plagg need it back?  What about Ladybug-

No.  His lady didn't care about him anymore.  She'd made that clear when she'd left in in the pouring rain all alone.

Another bolt of thunder sounded, and Adrien jumped.  He'd never been fond of thunder storms, and he'd developed a phobia of them, after his mother left and his father refused to comfort him.  He started crying a little, hoping-

"Chaton?"

What?

Adrien turned to see Ladybug standing there, along with Plagg.  Is it morning already?  He rolled his eyes.  Oh wow... he thought sarcastically.

"Chaton, please, I'm begging you, if you're here, come out... please?" Ladybug begged him, but her wasn't budging.  Obviously Plagg put her up to this, she didn't really care about him!

... did she?

"Oh please, this isn't going to convince you," Ladybug said, crying a little herself.  "Chaton, I really do care about you... so here goes nothing."

"Tikki, Spots Off."

Adrien gasped as a red glow nearly blinded him, it startled him so much that he fell over, using his arm to shield his face.  When he looked up, Ladybug wasn't Ladybug anymore... but she was a crying teenage girl with dark blue hair tied back in two pigtails... who he recognized.

Ladybug was...

Marinette.

Adrien trembled, unsure of how to process this information.  The sweet, kind girl who sat behind him in class was Ladybug, was the strongest person he knew, was the one he'd fallen in love with.  He felt tears starting to dampen his cheeks.  Finally, he got to see who his lady really was, but he didn't want it to happen like this.

Marinette, meanwhile, had fallen to her knees, sobbing.  "Ch-Chaton!" she stuttered out, her voice breaking.  "P-Please!  I... I was dumb, I made a bad decision.  I-If I could replay that moment, I would've taken you back w-with me, Chat.  Please believe m-me," she pleaded with him, though he knew that she couldn't see him.  He felt more tears pour down his face as he listened to his lady plead with him, begged him to come out so she could see she was safe.  Adrien longed to, yet something in his heart pulled him back, or maybe it was his injuries and sleepiness holding him back instead.  If I wait... maybe...

"Chat.  If you're here, listen.  Please.  I... I would never do anything intentionally to harm you!" Marinette tried to explain.  "EVER!  We're partners, Chaton, that has to mean something, right?  If you're here, you must know now that I don't care about our identities being a secret.  I don't care if you reveal yourself to me.  Besides, now that you see I'm just a clumsy teenage girl... you probably won't like me anymore.  I'm probably a different Ladybug now than the one your first knew.

"But, I understand too," Marinette admitted sighing, and Adrien wanted to protest.  He would never diminish her because of her civilian form, Ladybug was Marinette and Marinette was Ladybug.  They're the same person, Adrien added to himself.

"I get if you don't like me anymore.  That's completely f-fine.  J-Just, I w-want you to know that there will always, always, be a place for you in my heart, Chaton, no matter how broken the situation will be.  Which is why I want you to come back with me, to my house- n-not anything weird or anything!- just, I want you to have at least one place you can come to to stay warm, cause I'm not exactly sure if you can go back h-home or not.  I live at the Dupain-Cheng bakery on the corner of two streets three blocks north of here, and Plagg knows where too.  If you won't come out for me... then at least let your kwami find you, alright?  And if he doesn't come back," Marinette added, putting emphasis on her words, "I'm coming to find you first thing tomorrow, and you better be here, understand?" Adrien found himself nodding, though she couldn't see him.

"W-Well, Chaton, I have to go now.  Let the kwamis help you," she said despairingly.  "I'll be waiting."  Without another word, she walked off into the distance, with an unknown voice- which he reasoned to be her kwami- yelling at her to keep warm or something, Adrien couldn't really hear.

But, now that she'd left, he knew the choice was up to him.  One part of his brain told him his lady cared about him after all, the other half denied the fact.  One part told him to get Plagg's attention.  The other half told him to survive on his own.

Adrien put his foot down.

He listened to the side who cared.

"Plagg!" he yelled, raising his voice a little.  It didn't do much, though the kwamis did start to fly in his direction.

"Plagg," he tried again, waving his arms to draw more attention to himself.  He didn't think it worked.  Suddenly, he looked up and both kwamis were flying past him, missing him-

"PLAGG!"

This time there was something.

Whew!  That's all for this chapter!  These were a long two parts, oh boy.  The next chapter I think will be one part, but it might be extra-very long.  I could put it in two parts, but... I want to try something different.  Besides, you'll get the chapter in one update!  Yay!

Also: not sure if you've read my bio or not, but in the "Coming Soon..." works part, you can see a series. That series will be of my Miraculous OC and her partner, which I won't reveal until the story...

...

Or until the preview that I can potentially give in November???

Yes. I can post a preview, if you guys want. Or... I mean, wait! Let me tell you a little bit of the backstory first- it's about these two teenagers who are in Senior Year (everyone's age group) who live through the up-rise of a new villain.

Lillia comes from a very sad, broken past.   She is WISE and knows what she wants for herself.

Liam, her best friend, looks toward a bright future. His STRENGTH gets both of them forward.

An ancient curse of POWER has been summoned once again... two Miraculouses brought back from extinction to defeat it.  AGAIN.

Together... they protect the balance.

Together... they are unstoppable.

So yeah? What do you think? Comment below (btw that's not the actual description but I just want to set the stage)- btw words in all caps mean something... (wink wink)

Jeez, I'm asking you to comment a lot in this chapter, aren't I?  Well, do it if you can, I'd appreciate it.

Anyways, that's all for now.  But, I request that you:

1. WATCH THE HEROES DAY EPISODE IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY (though they're in like French lol)

2. Have a Happy Halloween!!!

3. As always, Stay Tuned ;)
