Chapter 1: Saddened Smile (Part 2)

Hi everyone!  Hope you've all been looking forward for this, I tried to send it out as soon as I could!  I-

STOP TALKING AND START THE STORY ALREADY!!!!!

Adrien / Chat Noir

"F-Father, w-what are you doing here," Adrien stammered, not expecting his father to just step in the room like that.

"Adrien, just what were you doing up so late!?" Gabriel yelled at him, not bothering to answer his son's question.

I'm Chat Noir, the famous superhero, that's me.  I save Paris from super villains created by Hawk Moth, and I always put myself in harm's way which is the opposite of what you want me to do.

Of course, he couldn't say that.

"I-I... uh..." was all that came out of his mouth.

"Have you been to a party!?  Staying out so late!?  Are you drunk?  Please tell me you're not drunk, son." Gabriel sneered at him.  Adrien instantly became infuriated from his father's accusation- he was not just some teenage stereotype.  As soon as he was about to fire something back at his father, he realized something.

Gabriel had just given him the perfect cover story.

Adrien hung his head.  "Y-Yeah, y-you caught me, F-Father," he mumbled.  "Punish me as you will."

Gabriel suddenly grabbed his son's shoulders, which made Adrien feel uncomfortable.  "Son, you're the most important person to me.  After your mother... hear me when I say nothing is more important than your safety."

I don't like this...

"Son, at that party, you could have been hurt.  You could have been killed.  I don't want to know how long this has been happening, and I personally don't care.  Just once is enough.  Enough to break our trust in each other."

Father... you don't know half of my secrets.

"Which is why you are not going back to school."

Adrien instantly threw his father's hands off of his shoulders, and took a step backwards.  "Seriously, Father?  This is not what I deserve!  I went out once.  It will never happen again, I promise," Adrien begged.  He knew personally that his father was very stubborn; he would do anything to get what he wanted.  "Please, Father, please," he tried again.

Gabriel shook his head.  "No, son.  This will stop you from sneaking out of my house, forever."

He then said the words that Adrien always dreaded to hear.

"You are not allowed to leave this house again."

Adrien gasped.  "N-no, Father, please..." he felt tears pouring out of his eyes.  Never go to Nino's again and hang out.  Never go to Chloe's hotel to talk to her, or never try Alya's mom's cooking again.  Never see Alix roller-blade again, never see any of Max's new creations, never listen to Rose's bright encouragement... never.  Never go to Marinette's bakery and taste her parent's wonderful pasteries, never go to try and beat her at her favourite video game.  Never see her sweet smile ever again.

Never.

Never.

At least he had Chat Noir-

Wait, what about him?  Knowing his father, he knew he wouldn't hesitate to add a security system in his room, which would prevent him both from leaving and transforming.  He would have to get a message out to Ladybug somehow-

Wait.

If he couldn't leave...

He would never see his lady again.

Never fight by her side or protect her again.

Never get a chance to tell her that he loved her.  Ever.

He looked at his father, hot tears pouring out of his eyes.  "How could you!?" he screamed at him, not even bothering to wipe them away.  "HOW COULD YOU!"

His father, however, looked unfazed by the scene that was unfurling in front of him.  "Your punishment starts tomorrow," he said, and promptly left the room.

Instantly, as soon as he left, he little paws on his cheeks, and he blinked some away to see Plagg trying to dry his tears.  "Kid... don't worry.  We'll find away around this."  Adrien noticed that his kwami didn't mention Camembert, not once, which made Adrien cry more.  He stood up after a couple of moments.

"Plagg, Claws Out."

.................................................................................................

Chat Noir started jumping on top of rooftops, his sadness spilling through him like water.  He cried out his pain as he made his way towards the Eiffel Tower.  Why must life treat me this way?  I don't deserve this!

Extending his staff one last time, he vaulted all the way to one of the rungs on famed monument.  He wept for the life he was about to lose.  "W-Why..."

Suddenly, out of the blue, as if this couldn't get any worse, a news helicopter flew up to meet him on the Eiffel Tower.  It did not approach him, but it did stay alarmingly near, and Chat did not like it one bit.  He could hear the reporter talking inside.

"Breaking News!  Live from the Eiffel Tower, our famed superhero, Chat Noir, is... crying?  Everyone stay under alert!  We are talking about a midnight akumatization here!"

Instinctively, he pulled his arms to his chest.  Sure, superheroes like him were meant to receive attention, but not like this!  He hugged himself, thinking about all the people he'd probably never see again.

Chloe.

Alya.

Nino.

Marinette.

His lady.

"M-My lady, I need you," he cried, shaking.  "P-please h-help me..." he stood up, shaking in his grief.

"LADYBUG!  I NEED YOU!"

He looked down at himself.  "Please... I need you."

Marinette / Ladybug

"Tikki, do you think my mom will like this hat I'm making for her birthday?" Marinette asked Tikki, who was happily munching on a cookie.

Tikki looked at her, and her faithful kwami nodded.  "Of course, Marinette!" she replied with endless enthusiasm.  "All your designs are the best."

Marinette smiled at her kwami; she was always grateful for Tikki, who always made her day.  "Thanks, Tikki..." Marinette's attention turned when she caught what was on her monitor.

Chat Noir?

"Is that Chat?" she asked out loud, but Tikki didn't answer her, she was too mesmerized by what was happening on screen.  In fact, it did appear to be Chat, but not the Chat that she knew.  He was a sobbing broken mess, and her heart broke that he was feeling this way.  She then realized that it was not just her who could see this, but everyone in Paris.

"How dare they!?" Marinette shouted in anger.  "These are Chat's private feelings."

"I guess they're not so private anymore," Tikki said nervously.

Marinette kept on watching the TV, and she felt tears come to her eyes when he called for her.

"LADYBUG!  I NEED YOU!"

Marinette looked at her kwami.  "I have to rescue him," she said.  Even though it was late and she was exhausted, Chat came first.  He needed her, as he said himself.

Tikki flew closer, clearly growing excited.  "Ready when you are," she said, smiling at her Miraculous Holder.

Marinette smiled back.  "Tikki..."

"SPOTS ON!"

Okay!!!!  That's all for this chapter, up next will be chapter 2.  Hope you're all excited for it!  This chapter... Adrien, man, MY FEELS.

Anyways, that's all for now!  Have an awesome day/night!

Stay tuned ;)
