HOME. ALICIA LOVED BEING HOME.

In her heart there was nowhere better and nowhere that brought her more comfort than Spain.

Spain was home. And in that home resided the arms of her father. The place that offered her more comfort than anywhere on earth.

If Alicia was to be honest, there was only one part that she hated about being an F1 driver. And that was the time she had to sacrifice away from home, especially in what could be considered her father's final months.

Alicia raced for her father. Every lap, every point was for him. It was a special dedication that she made sure he knew of.

Because without Mateo's constant encouragement and handiness, Alicia wouldn't be where she is today, without her father she would see no purpose in racing.

Except on her travels home today something stuck out to her.

Today she found out that her purpose in the motorsport world didn't just have to link to her father, she found out that she was well and truly an inspiration.

A crowd had found out that she was coming home today, and that crowd had been been massive formula one fans.

And in that crowd had been fans. Alicia Hugo fans and within them was a little girl no older than five, holding a picture of Alicia's face and a much smaller picture. A picture of that small girl in a cart of her own, with the number twenty-five on the nose.

The crowd had pushed the little girl to the front and Alicia had crouched down in-front of her with a wide smile, greeting and furthermore speaking to her in Spanish, "Is that you?"

She asked and the little girl eagerly nodded, "Yep! Number twenty-five, just likes yours! I want to be just like you when I grow up."

It took a few moments for Alicia to really take in what the little girl had said to her. That someone looked up to her and was even taking a step further to even want to be like her.

Alicia didn't want to admit it but being in the motor sporting world had been pretty isolating for her. I mean, Max Verstappen sold out whole sections of a grandstand for his fans. And Alicia had only seen a few flags with her face on.

She never expected to have fans in the first place.

Her position within the sport hangs in the balance, she's been racing for four races and was barely a household name.

Why would they support her?

Well, I could make a list for you Alicia.

Alicia was a figurehead. She was new and she was something they hadn't seen before. She was a hope for other little girls, that maybe they have a chance after all.

Maybe she deserved her spot in formula one after all.
