AFTER THE NAUSEATING CAR JOURNEY WITH ALEX, Alicia had been at Valterri's birthday bash for at least half an hour. And had been succeeding at hiding away from the large crowds. Although most the drivers had spilt off into little groups near the back of the house, Alicia found herself sat on the staircase - awaiting a call from her dad.

And it was slightly worrying that he hadn't yet called. Of course, when the call had been delayed by five minutes Alicia's mind jumped to the worst conclusions.

Frankly, Alicia wasn't in a party type of mood. And normally she was never one to turn down a party, or an alcoholic free drink. But after having to turn her comments off, and the official Williams Instagram account having to do the same she just fancied being alone and blocking out any form of news report or tweet that was no doubt just slating her for her performance.

When the phone finally rang she jumped slightly, and instantly picked it up. Frowning when she was met with the inside of fathers earlobe. "You do know your face timing me right?" Alicia asked, the sound of her laughter following.

Her dad muttered to himself, confused. Until he move the phone in-front of his face, which contorted in further confusion when he saw Alicia right there. "Alicia? What are you doing inside my phone? Does this mean aliens are real? Are the government listening?"

"No dad," Alicia chuckled, "It's a FaceTime, you know the one through the screen?" Alicia tried explaining but it took another five minutes of her time before Mateo finally understood he was talking to his daughter and not any aliens.

"What a race," Mateo said. Sighing when he noticed Alicia's demeanor change. "Head up kiddo, it was your first time out there in yonks! Don't beat yourself up over something that you'll forget about."

"I'm not going to forget about it though, am I?"

Mateo rolled his eyes, pulling the phone closer to his face. "Alicia, listen to me. Today doesn't make you any less of a driver. It was one mistake-"

"That ruined mine and another drivers race." Alicia pointed out, not letting Mateo forget it.

Mateo shrugged, "So what? You've got two race weekends in a row to show them that what happened in Spa was a one off. That you're better than that. That you, Alicia Hugo, can pick yourself up after a bad weekend."

"I know you, Alicia. And the version of you that was out on track, was not the Alicia I know. It was a scared Alicia, one who felt lost and out place. Who couldn't get her mind in gear until the closing laps." He paused, listening to the silence that told him he was correct. "My Alicia wouldn't give up and mope around like this. She'd get right back at it, and by next week she'll be ready. Everyone just has to give her time. My Alicia, is going to score points. Or do her damn best to do so."

"My Alicia is the best driver and the best role model in the world." Mateo smiled, catching her eye as she looked up from the ground. Breaking out a smile as she couldn't help it.

Her father giving her the pick me up she knew she needed.

"And my dad, is the best fan in the world." Alicia smiled.

"Actually, I have been meaning to ask, why is your merch so expensive? I mean, Williams come on! The shipping too? Please, Alicia. I'm an old man-"

"Don't play that card!"

Alicia had been sat on the stairs for a good half an hour at this rate, having only just hung up with her dad. It turns out he had a lot to say about the shipping prices.

She realized he was right and that no matter what life decides to throw at her next weekend, she'll be in the top ten. (Well, she better be.)

"Your dad's right you know?" A voice spoke around the corner.

"Oh my God!" Alicia exclaimed, her hand on her heart as she peered her head around to see LEWIS HAMILTON, "Are you trying to kill me?"

He chuckled as he found room next to her on the staircase, "Believe me, that was not my intention. I do have to say, your dad is really inspirational."

Alicia furrowed her eyebrow, "Is he really?"

Lewis readjusted himself, "Yeah! I mean, he makes me want to go and give the performance of a lifetime at Zandvoort."

"Shall I give you his number? So you can call him for a pick me up?" Alicia joked.

"Oh? Would you?" Lewis asked, being deadly serious. "I mean I'd love to talk to the guy who brought up such an amazing woman. What you're doing is insane Alicia, whether you think it is or not. You're the role model now to thousands of little girls who don't think they can make it into this sport. And now look at you."

He pulled her hands out of her lap and made her do some jazz hands (some incredibly sad jazz hands but that isn't the point)

"I can't really look at myself." Alicia smiled, knowing Lewis wasn't impressed by her joke. "Kidding! Kidding!" Alicia said, pulling Lewis' hands to make him sit back down as he had made an attempt to leave.

"George tells better jokes than you."

Alicia scoffed, folding her arms across her chest. "Lewis, let's not lie."

And as the two giggled amongst themselves, Carlos found himself staring at them from across the room.

And for a moment he found himself reflecting on a time where it would've been him and Alicia separated from the party laughing their heads off.

And just for a spilt second, Carlos found himself smiling at the memory of the pair, unsure of it would ever be the same again.
