F1: BREAKING NEWS! Alicia Hugo is set to replace Nicholas Latifi for the remainder of the 2022 season as the Canadian driver has to drop out due to concerns with family.

Hugo has tested for Williams once before and has been waiting two years to get into F1. Jost Capito fully backs his decision in bringing the Spanish driver into F1, claiming it was a 'tough' but seemingly 'self-explanatory' decision.

One things for sure is that we can't wait to see Alicia out on track!

Alicia Hugo is one of the hardest drivers I've ever had to photograph and after a deep search I've learnt that I only have one picture of her. But nonetheless, she is the newest addition to 2022 Formula One grid. Lining up side by side with the other drivers, racing with the number 25.

And even if her initials are HUG, she is not someone who offers many of them. According to sources she is someone heavily focused on her formula one career that she does not have time for much else, except the standard visit to her father in Spain. Alicia prides herself on her own success, and can be quite hard on herself as seen in many interviews from her time in Formula 2.

Another exciting element to the table is to see her friendship with Carlos Sainz, who is currently at Ferrari and claimed his first victory in Silverstone. It will be exciting to see what mischief the pair can cause, as they were most commonly known for pranks in their karting days.

aliciahugo: let's hope not 😔 but i'm here to do a good job not please you at the end of the day. the only support that matters is my team, colleagues and the FIA. if you have a problem with women in the sport maybe you need to grow up and realizing i'm trying to change the fact motorport is heavily male dominated. i'm proving to little girls all around the world they can make it in this sport, so take your sexism elsewhere and stop watching if it bothers you so much.

aliciahugo: i remember the day my dad handed his copy of senna's helmet like it was yesterday. it was the first time my old man had smiled on months. whenever i go out on any track, i think of schumacher, senna, hamilton, blanche and vettel. the concept of achieving such things they did, to be an idol to someone.

i'm in this sport to race. to fight battles (cleanly) and to win. my ambition is strong, i'm ready for this.

but i'm also in this sport to inspire others. the little girls and boys who think they may never make it this far in a motorsport career. i want to show them what you can achieve. how you can bounce back from a loss of sponsorships.

williams have given me an opportunity of a lifetime and i am forever grateful to them 💙 but also my dad, mandy i pray you show him this, the man who put every penny he had into my career. the one who picked me up when i fell over, the one who had my back at the karting club. who told multiple parents to fuck off when they said i'd never get anywhere. my dad is my biggest inspiration, and no matter where you are or how you are, i race for you. to make you proud ❤
