They say that those who live on the Isle have evil running through their veins. The sheer darkness that plagued the Villains who were banished to the Isle, the cold emptiness of their hearts that longed for revenge on the self-proclaimed good guys who banished them to the Isle. For twenty years they had longed for this revenge, trying ever so hard to lift the barrier and finally escape and nobody wanted revenge more than the Mistress of Evil herself, Maleficent.
But she's not the focus of this story, rather it settles upon her daughter Mal and her close group of friends Evie, Carlos and Jay and the adventure they were about to go on alongside one of her greatest enemies.
At given time the Daughters of Maleficent and the Evil Queen and the Sons of Cruella and Jafar ahd just finished their rounds of stealing from the market place and spreading evil across the Isle. Of course this was a common occurrence, the group of Villain Kids being known for their wickedness and were considered 'popular' among the community and by association any Villain would look better.
In order to show her wickedness, Mal approached a baby in the street and stole a lollipop from its mouth, watching in glee as the baby cried out after having its sweet stolen from it. Mal proudly held it up in the air, showing off to all the over villains as a wicked cackle left her lips. However the cackles from the other villains fell short as a figure approached the group surrounded by knuckleheads, Mals audience fleeing in fright upon the sight.
"Hi mom." Mal said cheerily as she turned around to face the knuckleheads, who disbanded upon seeing Mal speak before Maleficent stepped out .
"Stealing candy, Mal?" Maleficent asked with a pout. "I'm so disappointed."
"It was from a baby." The girl counted, Maleficent smiling at her confession before she cackle.
"That's my nasty little girl." Mal gave Maleficent the lollipop, the Mistress of Evil taken her time to spit on it before putting it under her underarm and passing it to one of her knuckleheads. "Give it back to the dreadful creature."
"Mom..."
"It's the deets, Mal, that make the difference between mean and truly evil. When I was your age, I was cursing entire kingdoms. You. Walk with me." Maleficent mentioned for her daughter to follow her, Mal following closely behind. "See, I'm just, just trying to teach you the thing that really counts... how to be me."
"I know that. And I'll do better." Mal promised before Maleficent became distracted by the large, muscular man that was approaching them.
"Have you found her yet?" Maleficent asked the man, who Mal could now see was none other than Gaston, the man shaking his head at her as he flexed his muscles nonchalantly.
"No." He said sternly as he then checked himself out in a puddle in front of him. "I searched the kitchen and the marketplace."
"Only there?" Maleficent asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well she shouldn't be anywhere else. That's where her place is." Gaston said arrogantly, Mal looking between her mother and the muscular man in confusion as her mother sighed in annoyance.
"I have to do everything myself." Maleficent muttered to herself before looking at her daughter. "Stay here. Gaston, come."
The four Villain Kids were unsure of what the commotion was about but not wanting to go against the Mistress of Evil they stayed put. However they were less than pleased when the Mistress of Evil and Gaston appeared a minute later with another Villain Kid at their side, the sandly haired girl that had been dragged to the party by Gaston taking one look at the four other Villain Kids before attempting to walk away.
"What's the dirty Pirate doing here?" Mal asked her mother as she looked the sandy haired pirate up and down in complete disgust, the pirate looking at Mal too and sharing the same look of disgust.
"That dirty Pirate is my daughter." Gaston bellowed back at the girl, Maleficent rolling her eyes at him as she looked at the group of five Villain Kids with a grin.
"Oh! There's news! I buried the lede. You five have been chosen to go to a different school. In Auradon." Carlos, Jay, and Evie all shared a look at her words before all turning around and attempting to run away, only to be stopped by Maleficents Minions.
"What? I'm not going to some boarding school filled to the brim with prissy pink princesses!" Mal disagreed in disgust.
"And perfect princes." Evie gushed, Gael Gaston giving Evie a weird look at her choice of words before shaking her head.
Yeah, and I don't do uniforms. Unless It's leather. You feel me?" Jay asked Carlos, the son of Cruella not listening to him and refusing his high five before Gael high fived for him.
"Hell yeah dude!"
" I read somewhere that they allow dogs in Auradon." Carlos said in fright, feeling anxious at just the mention of the furry creatures. "Mom said they're rabid pack animals who eat boys who don't behave."
"Woof!" Jay shouted in the boys ear, Carlos retaliating by hitting Jay for scaring him.
"Yeah, mom, we're not going." Mal deadpanned, Maleficent shaking her head at the foolish children.
Oh, you're thinking small, pumpkin. It's all about world domination. Mal..." The kids followed Maleficent into the nearest building, clinging on to her every word. "You will go. You will find fairy godmother and you will bring back the magic wand. Easy peasy."
"What's in it for us?" Mal asked her mother straight up, Maleficnet smiling brightly as she grabbed Mals hands in hopes of helping Mal picture it.
" Matching thrones. Hers-and-hers crowns."
"Um, I think she meant us." Carlos spoke up, motioning to all the Villain kids in the room, Gael scoffing from the back of the room as she played with a thread on her shirt,
"Yeah," She said bitterly with a shake of her head. "not everything's about you."
"It's all about you and me, baby." Maleficent ignored the others as she focused on her daughter again. "Do you enjoy watching innocent people suffer?"
"Well, yeah. I mean, who doesn't..."
"Well, then get me the wand and you and I can see all that and so much more. And with that wand and my scepter, I will be able to bond both good and evil to my will!"
"Our will." The Evil Queen interjected, Maleficent rolling her eyes at her.
"Our will, our will." Maleficent corrected herself before snapping her fingers, bringing Mals attention back to her mother. "And if you refuse, you're grounded for the rest of your lives, missy."
"What...mom... "Maleficent pretends to squish Mal's lips to make her stop complaining before they stared at each other in an evil stare off which by using her powers, Maleficent clearly won. "Fine. Whatever."
"I win."
"Evie my little evil-lette in training. You just find yourself a prince with a big castle and a mother-in-law wing." The Evil Queen told her daughter, the two smiling brightly at each other as they embraced in excitement.
"And lots and lots of mirrors!"
"Ah!"
"No laughing." The Queen warned Evie with a tut. "Wrinkles."
"Oh, well, they're not taking my Carlos, because I'd miss him too much." Cruella complained as she hugged her son to her chest, a genuine smile forming on Carlos' face as he looked up at his mother in happiness.
"Really, mom?"
"Yes." She said before she chuckled. "Who would touch up my roots, fluff my fur, and scrape the bunions off my feet?"
"Yeah, maybe a new school wouldn't be the worst thing." Carlos said as he detached himself from his mother, shaking his head at his silliness for actually thinking she cared.
"Oh, Carlos, they have dogs in Auradon."
"Oh, no!" Caros jumped back to his mothers side as he shook his head. "I'm not going!"
"Well, Jay isn't going either. I need him to stock the shelves in my store." Jafar said before he approached his son with a smile. "What did you score? Oh. Ooh. A lamp."
"Dad." Jay sighed as he urged his dad to stop rubbing the lamp. "I already tried."
"Ah!"
"Evie's not going anywhere until we get rid of this unibrow, hmm?" The Evil Queen told the group in finality, Evie gasping as she looked in the mirror upon at her face.
Maleficent then looked to Gaston, the only parent who hadn't spoke and she shouldn't have been surprised when she saw that he had been checking himself out in the mirror. Noting the mistress of evils stare, Gaston turned around before acknowledging his daughter and her place on the matter.
"She'll only go if she gets the chance to kill that beast."
"Dad!" Gael scoffed as she shook her head, not keen on the idea at all.
"What is wrong with you all? People used to cower at the mention of our names! For 20 years, I have searched for a way off this island. For 20 years, they have robbed us from our revenge..." Maleficent exasperated before she approached the evil Queen. "revenge on Snow White and her horrible little men."
"Ow!" The Evil Queen sighed before Maleficent approached Jafar.
"Revenge on Aladdin and his bloated genie!"
"I will..." He said wistfully, Maleficent smiling before she walked to Cruella.
"Revenge on every sneaky dalmatian that escaped your clutches."
"Oh, but they didn't get baby. They didn't get the... They didn't get the baby!" She grinned as she played with her scarf, laughing wickedly under her breath as Maleficent approached Gaston and grasped onto his bicep.
"And revenge on the beast and his utensils that kidnapped the girl you loved and manipulated her." Maleficent told him wickedly, Gaston looking into the mirror as the anger surged through his veins at the mention of the beast.
"I was always far better than that hideous beast."
"And I, Maleficent...the evilest of them all, I will finally have my revenge on sleeping beauty and her relentless little prince." Maeficent gleamed as her evil scheme came together, looking at the grinning faces of all the Villians and smiling. "Villains!"
They then heard a scoff from the other end of the room.
"This is all very touching I must admit but I'll pass." Gael addressed the room before looking her Dad directly in the eye and shook her head. "Dad I'm not going."
"You'll do as I say." Gaston told the girl, Gael scoffing again as she shook her head and took a step back.
"Absolutely not!"
"Listen to me." Gaston said quietly to his daughter, grabbing her arm and pulling her into his unusual embrace. "You go out there, you kill that beast and get the wand."
"Father! No!" Gael pulled herself away from her fathers grasp, still refusing to give in and leave with the people she hated most to go to a land away from her friends.
"When do we leave anyway?" Jay asked, Maleficent smiling as she handed Mal her spellbook and the Evil Queen gave Evie the Magic Mirror.
"Right now."
"No!"
Refusing to give in to Maleficents plan, Gael Gaston decided to run from it. Dodging past her father and Jafar, she sprinted out of the building and towards Ursulas Fish and Chip shop to approach her friends and tell them of what had just occurred. She hoped that they would help her hide, so that she didn't have to leave them and go to Auradon but Maleficent wouldn't let that happen.
"Don't just stand there, go after her." Maleficent shouted, Jafar and Gaston sprinting out of the building and after Gael to get her back.
Mal rolled her eyes at the girl, grabbing her per-packed bag from the side before approaching her three friends who looked equally as amused at the thought of having to go to Auradon with a member of a rival gang.
"I can't believe we'll be stuck with her." Mal scoffed at the thought of Gael, a bitter taste in her mouth as she imagined even having to have a conversation with her, yet alone working with her.
"I can't believe we'll be in Auradon... visiting real castles... meeting real princes." Evie gushed as a bright smile formed on her face, Mal rolling her eyes as she clicked her fingers in her best friends face.
"Evie, focus."
"It'll be fine Mal." Jay promised her, having already thought out an elaborate plan in case something went wrong. "We get her to take the wand, if we fail an attempt we blame her and use each other as an alibi. "
"Devious," Mal said as she gave her friend an approving look. "I love it."
"And if dogs attack us?" Carlos questioned, his voice barely a whisper as all the stories he had been fed came back to him and he shook his head.
"We'll throw her to them, lighten up dude." Jay comforted his friend, his smile falling as he saw Gaston carrying the girl on his shoulder out of the fish and chip shop. "And she's back."
"She has a name, address her by it." Gael sassed, Mal chuckling as Gaston placed her down and Mal approached her and pouted.
"Funny," She said in distaste. "I've always been taught to ignore the scum."
"I see," Gael sighed, pretending that she had been defeated before smirking at Mal. "that explains the clear lack of fashion sense from the neglect of a mirror. "
"Ten points for Gaston." Jay whispered to Carlos, the son of Cruella chuckling under his breath before Gaston stepped between the two girls and shook his head.
"Enough!" Having had enough of it all, Gael snatched her bag from Gaston and approached the car before angrily climbing in.
"The future of the free world rests on your shoulders." Maleficent recited as she paced her hands on Mals shoulders. "Don't blow it. Mal!"
Bidding their uncaring parents a quick goodbye, the four Villain Kids followed the daughter of Gaston into the limo before swiftly closing the door behind them. The five could hear their parents talking to them from outside, each asking for their child to bring them something between the region of gold and the head of the beast. Needless to say this is all I need to say about the parents of the five Villain Kids for you to understand exactly what they are like.
They truly held no true love for their children.
As the driver got back into the car preparing to drive away, there was silence among the four Villain Kids. While Carlos, Jay and Evie were looking around the limo and discovering what food had been laid in the little bowls provided, Mal and Gael didn't hold the same sentiment. Anger purged through the air, the daughter of Gaston and the daughter of Maleficent glaring at each other as they mentally cursed whoever came up with the idea to put the two in a confined space together and thinking that they wouldn't kill each other. The history between the two told held Gaels greatest achievement in the place of Mals greatest failure, building the foundations of the feud between them that the girls swore would never break.
Little did they know that their feud would not only be put on hold, but would be abandoned indefinitely in the near future.
