A Winning Streak
~(Y/N)'s POV~
"WE WON!" Miko cheered as she jumped up and down on the platform. We all came through the groundbridge, smiling at our victory. Raf traveled just behind me, and the humans, once three, now two, looked to him in wonder.
"H-hi guys." he smiled sheepishly, waving.
There was a moment of silence, then Miko smiled and ran to his pedes.
"WOW! Look at you! Was it the cybermatter? Do you see differently? Are things smaller to you now?! Do you have like super-human hearing now?! Can you turn back to being human?! CAN I DO IT?!"
To this Bulkhead quickly shook his helm, earning a pout from Miko as she grumbled about it some more. I looked to Jack, who seemed to be rather conflicted as he switched his gaze from me to Raf, and then to the ex-cons just behind me, who were Knockout and Soundwave. Arcee went to talk to him, most likely to try and soothe his nerves. She's such a mother.
"Ratchet look!" Raf ran off to see the medic, who looked... glad, and at ease as Rafael plodded up to him, "Now I can help even more!"
"With the war over there may not be much to help out with," Ratchet chuckled, "I think your place is with Wildstryke and helping out on Cybertron." He looked to me, and became serious, "You take good care of him, that means no taking him street racing." He glared at me, and I chuckled.
"Wouldn't dream of it, ya burnt marshmallow."
"Don't call me that."
Raf giggled at our small banter, and went off to find Miko, finding Jack as well, and the group of three started to talk and enjoy the peace the end of the war brought. I chuckled as the two humans started to climb on him.
Knockout placed a servo on my shoulder plate, and I turned my helm to smile at him, a soft smile, a tired smile. We walked over to where the rest of the group, including Soundwave had begun a meeting of when to leave for Cybertron. Apparently, it was as soon as they said 'good bye'.
"What about Tweetle Dee and Tweetle Dumb?" Agent Fowler said, though most everyone didn't understand.
"Shockwave and Starscream will be taken care of once they are found," Optimus responded, and I leaned against the chassis of my beloved, "Until then we need to focus on the rebuilding of Cybertron."
I felt myself fading away, fatigue and anxieties finally taking their toll. I felt my optics begin to flicker, and the soft hum of Knockout's sparkbeat acted as my lullaby. A softer, second hum began to grow, and I wondered what it was as I drifted into a shallow recharge. As it grew, I realized that it was my own spark, slowly coming into sync with Knockout's. With a smile on my faceplate, I allowed myself to rest.
~Knockout's POV~
I felt Wildstryke's form fall limp in my arms, and I asked Ratchet for a berth she might be able to be more comfortable on. He pointed to one I had somehow missed upon walking in, and with a firm hold around her, I picked her up, like the beautiful bride she is, and gently placed her down. The not-so-small pede steps of Raf met my audio, and I looked to him, smiling a bit as he greeted me with a smile of his own. I was quite surprised that he would give up his life on Earth for one on Cybertron. I'm glad though. He makes Wildstryke happy, and is a wonderful addition to our misfit family.
"Is she going to be okay?" he asked, his smile falling to a frown as he worried.
"Wildstryke's fine," I assured, "She's simply tired. Her spark is new, just like yours."
The once human mech looked up to me, and smiled once more. He called Wildstryke his Carrier, of which I was more than surprised, but I am also grateful. The loss of our sparkling might not make such an impact on her mental state as it did my own. I couldn't bare to see her break down...
"Knockout," he began, but didn't finish as a loud clattering came from Soundwave. I quickly rushed to him as he tried to get up, only worsening the bleeding from his side.
"You idiot," I grumbled, "Show my your vitals!"
His visor flickered, but was far to broken to work properly, several chips falling to the floor beside him, where a large pool of energon was still growing.
"I'll do a scan," Ratchet stated, and instantly frowned as he looked at the results, "He's losing to much energon."
"I'll patch it, where's a soldering tool?" It was more of an order, and I was glad that it was followed. Soundwave jerked away from the tool, but I had no time to give him anything to lessen the pain. It was scrap of a job, but it would keep him from bleeding out. I began to patch the smaller wounds, though there were some that needed a more specific tool, of which I did not have. I was going to repair a wound near his visor, but he grabbed my servo before I could even start.
"Soundwave, now is not the time to be difficult."
"Place him on the medical berth," Ratchet stated as he handed Wildstryke off to Optimus to free the space. I quickly set Soundwave on his pedes and all but dragged him to the raised slab of metal. The silent mech laid down with a metallic clash as he failed to keep his weight up on his arms for a slow decent, more of his visor chipping away, revealing a pained, blue optic.
"Stay with us Soundwave," I said, and began to once again repair him.
"No... reason to leave," he winced as I touched a rather tender spot under his armor.
Ratchet joined me in the repairing of my comrade, though Soundwave was little help as he continued to stop our advances to try and repair the wounds closer to his visor, some being quite extensive.
"Soundwave, please," I sighed, being batted away once more, "Your movement only brakes your visor further."
At this he finally laid still, and we continued to repair him the best we could. I looked to Wildstryke, who was amazingly still in recharge. I looked to my other side and saw Raf recharging just under Soundwave's helm as well, leaning on the berth. Their both like newborn sparklings with their new found sparks. Once finished, I realized that Soundwave too, was in recharge, and frankly, I was tired as well. Ratchet went to take off Soundwave's visor, of which I understand. With it coming apart in small pieces like this, it was a health hazard to him, but I stopped the older medic before he was successful.
"Let him take it off when he's ready."
"Knockout you and I both know how hazardous a breaking visor can be."
"And I also know that he wears it for more than just show." I shoved his servo away from the recharging mech, "I would think that you would respect that."
I decided to stay, and watch over the three, while the others went to check on things with Dreadwing periodically, and said goodbye to their human companions. Ratchet asked to stay, as a liason between our two races. To say I was surprised would have been quite the lie, of course I didn't say this out loud. Wildstryke woke up at one point, and I had fallen into a light recharge, waking up at her movement from the smaller berth that was at the side of Soundwave's. She stood up, leaving Raf to have the berth to himself, and looked to the mech still recharging.
"Is he okay?" she asked me in concern.
"He will be," I answered, "Don't worry."
The (F/C) femme nodded as she placed a servo beside him. I frowned, and straightened myself in my sitting position.
"You're afraid... of what?"
She looked to me as if I had gained the Decepticon symbol once more, then her features softened as she realized how I knew. Taking the ring from her subspace, which I was quite surprised that it survived the whole ordeal, she smiled, being careful not to lose the tiny thing in her servo.
"I'm afraid of a lot of things... what will Roman and my Dad think? Will I be a good enough mother figure for Raf? Am I going to adapt to life on Cybertron or will I retreat back to what I've known most of my life?" She sighed, closing her digits around the tiny glowing ring. "I'm afraid of how we'll press on... will I ever see Earth again?"
I sighed after hearing her reasoning, and got up, taking her by her servo, and guiding her around the berth, turning her so that she was facing Raf and Soundwave, her backplates gently resting on my chassis.
"You see that little mech?"
She nodded.
"He already knows that you're a WONDERFUL mother figure," I twirled her back around, so that she was facing me, "Your sire and brother will probably be thrilled to see what you have become, though kill me while they congratulate you," I was successful in making her laugh, and this made me smile, "We will have to come back from time to time so Raf can see Jack and Miko, in that time we can go street racing without the thought of Megatron being right on your tailpipe."
"Do you realize how wrong that sounds?" she asked, making me chuckle.
"Can you say that's NOT what he tried to do?"
"I hate it when you're right." she sighed, and quickly kissed me before giggling.
"I think I'd call the feeling mutual."
(Don't you just love happy endings? To bad the story isn't over just yet!)
