A Game of Chance

~Knockouts POV~

         "YOU GAVE HER WORKING PARTS?!"

Soundwave backed away, for the first time showing fear of me, and I don't blame him. I'm furious! I didn't even care that we were in the main control room, but Megatron was too busy somewhere else.

"Do you know what this might do to her? SHE'S NOT FULL CYBERTRONIAN SOUNDWAVE!"

         "~I~ Know~"

"Well if you knew why did you even give the CHANCE of her being SPARKED!?"

He was silent, something I did not want to hear right now. I wanted an answer of WHY he would risk her health so recklessly like this. His visor flickered, and a video began... Breakdown...

"Come on, we both know they're going to tie the knot," he explained with a grin, "We'll make a one in a hundred chance of it."

"Statement: Unwise." came the monotonous computer made voice from Soundwave.

"Trust me, they'll thank us later!"

     So it was Breakdown's idea.

"And you went along with it?!"

He gave a slight nod... and I let my anger take hold as I pushed him off balance, making him fall to the floor. I took my saw blades out, and brought them dangerously close to his visor.

"Do you know, what this could do to her? How long her mind will have to stay in that body?"

         "KNOCKOUT!"

A horrid scream... an energon freezing cry... Wildstryke.

"Knockout please... it's not his fault..." she pleaded, but I did not turn to look at her expression, her wavering voice was enough to warn me that she was scared. For Soundwave, and herself.

Retracting my saw blades, I stepped away from the TIC, allowing him to get up.

         "I'm sorry." A faceless apology...

With that he left.

I felt a servo to my shoulder, but I was far too afraid of the look on Wildstryke's faceplate to turn to her. She wrapped her arms around me, like a scared sparkling... there's the possibility of there soon being one... But what price will it come with?

"Do you not want the Sparkling?" she asked softly.

"I just don't want you to be hurt." I avoided the question. Of course I wanted the Sparkling. To raise one with her would be a dream come true, but to raise one without her would be torture. A nightmare.

"Knockout I'll be fine," I felt a servo on my cheekplate, and she made me look to her, "Trust me. I'm only shocked."

         "Megatron can't know."

"And he won't. I'm neutral, there's one other place I can go."

         "There's two who would oppose."

"Well they can deal, and I'm sure Arcee will understand the weight of a Sparkling, especially in the middle of a war."

I sighed, and held her close, not wanting to let her go. Two lives... I have two lives to cherish... too protect... but I'm selfish, and I want to keep them near me. Why did I choose the path of Decepticon? Would this have been easier if I had chosen to be an Autobot? Would I have even met (Y/N) as an Autobot? Now that I think of it, probably not... and I can't imagine my life without her.

"Knockout, you're crying," I heard the faint laugh, and I couldn't help but smile.

         "So it appears."

"Come on," she took my servo, and started to drag me away.

         "Where are we going?"

"To announce the good news to the others. We can't keep it a secret from EVERYONE!"

She giggled, and I followed. Maybe... just maybe... she'll be okay.

~Roman's POV~

         "SPARKED?!"

Just about the whole room, full of vehicons, Dreadwing included burst at the news! To be fully honest, I somewhat expected it... sorta...

"Yes," Wildstryke smiled, "But You're all sworn to silence when it comes to Megatron, Shockwave or Starscream!"

         "Why Starscream?" I asked.

"That's kinda self explanatory Roman." She deadpanned, and I shrugged.

"How do you know so early?" Came the question of a vehicon femme, a not so rare sight anymore, they seemed to have gained more confidence since the wedding.

"Because Wildstryke was built with quite a bit of forethought, her energon reserves are being tapped into, speeding up the process." Knockout explained, and everyone got it... except me.

"So..." I started, jumping from shoulder to shoulder of the vehicons, until I landed on Wildstryke's, "I'm going to be an uncle?"

"And dad will be a Grandpa."

"Awesome!" my holoformic skin revealed my smile, and the entire mess hall went up in excited chatter, "When are you going to tell him anyway?" I asked.

"I... scrap... I didn't even think of that..." she looked to Knockout, who was suddenly, very, very worried.

"I don't think he'll be that mad." I said, "He might threaten you with an entire mafia army, but nothing too serious."

Both Knockout and Wildstryke gave me the look of 'not helping', and I laughed.

"I think I should contact him... he won't yell at me." Wildstryke stated.

"True, instead he'll praise the news and then hunt down your mech," another femme, I suspect Amaranth.

The room burst into laughter once more, and the two lives of the party bid their farewells, me still on Wildstryke's shoulder.

It was a long silence until I spoke up again, what was really nagging at my processor coming out.

"How safe is it? If you go through with this."

Silence came from both Knockout and my sister, worrying me. I know Wildstryke lost me once, and she did better then I expected... but I don't know what my reaction would be to losing her... and there's no chance of her coming back... she doesn't have a spark as I do.

"We're going through with it," Wildstryke confirmed, "I suspect it's like a human pregnancy... it's just my processor that will need to be monitored..."

"So... there's a chance that you won't ever wake up as human?"

"Or Cybertronian if her processor gives out," Knockout added, only making my fear spike.

"So... there's a chance... you might not make it?"

"There's always that chance Roman," Wildstryke sighed, looking to me at the corner of her bright red optic, "Mine's just... a bit more delicate than most..."

She yawned, and leaned on Knockout as we traveled through the Nemesis, soon finding our way to Knockout's berthroom. The little shelf was hidden, most likely hiding (Y/N) as well, and her psychic patch device, well, more like a psychic transfer device. Knockout made sure that she laid down properly, and she was soon in recharge, just the simple walk being almost to much for her drained form.

"She's going to push her limit," I noted, climbing onto Knockout's shoulder plating.

         "She always does."

"Please... tell me she'll be okay..."

I could feel the energon tears want to flow, but I refused to let them.

Knockout didn't answer for a time, which worried me. That meant, even as an expert in the medical field, he didn't know. We both watched Wildstryke as she recharged, at a loss of what we would do if she were to offline... What would we do?

(You guys have no idea how much foreshadowing went into the revealing of the sparkling. XD From the hint of Raf to the Sparkling shows being uncovered in the Iacon files as 'decoys'. Twas all right under your noses! I can't wait for the rest! OH! I have a Ratchet x reader in Assorted Short Stories! It's called Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Go check it out and tell me what you think!)
