So me and Leo helped Rose Blossom settle into our humble abode. It wasn't much, but I hope it's enough for her and her little ones.

I went out and got some moss from the forest to soften the hard alley street ground,  and then I went out and scavenged up some tattered pillows for Rose to rest her head and stomach on.

Leo, on the other hand, gathered some clean water, (we were running low) and some food. And by food, I mean either still wrapped sandwiches from the top of fast food to-be-in-the-dumpster piles, and grocery store rejects.

Like I said, not great, but it's the best we can do.

Rose thanked us for all the stuff, but it's very clear she was still very afraid about the dangers of the streets.

The streets have always been tough, but me and Leo have, I don't know, gotten used to it? I mean, if you know how to get yourself out of a jam, know how to avoid gang fights, and know what to do if you're being tailed, you'll be fine.

But Rose didn't grow up here, and she's not used to Thistledown Town, and me and Leo have to protect her.

Tonight we're having cold chicken for dinner. Luckily, we have a fire to heat it up.

"This is lit, dude!" I joked.

"Ha ha, very funny!" Leo play swiped at me.

"You two are goobers." Rose chuckled.

"That's just part of my charm." I posed dramatically.

*After dinner*

I was tossing and turning in my bed, unable to fall asleep, so I decided to guard our base for a bit. I heard footsteps behind me, and I snapped around instinctively, my brown hair only sort of bristling.

I calmed down a bit when I realized it was just Rose.

"Can't sleep? She asked in a soft voice.

"Yeah."

"Lark, is something up?"

"What? No..."

"Lark..."

"Ok! I admit it! I'm worried about you..."

"Lark, I grew up on the streets."

"Not these streets! Thistledown Town is a lot different from where you're from!"

"Rose City did have its challenges you know."

"I know, but... I still feel like I need to protect you."

"And I appreciate it! These two really make it hard to move."

"I'll do my best, Rose."

"That's the best I can ask for."
