"You know, your ass is going to get fatter if you keep sitting on it," your best friend Rina said as she plopped down onto the couch beside you.

You shrugged. "Some people like a fat ass, just saying."

She glared at you, a scowl on her thin lips. "You know that's not what I mean. I mean, come on, Y/N. When was the last time you went out on a date?"

"You know, you just got onto me about this shit last week," you grumbled with a pout. "I like being alone. Leave me be, Rina."

"All I'm saying is that you should go out more. Maybe meet up with that one guy you've been talking about?"

You looked at her with a confused expression. "If you're referring to what's-his-face, then no. I met up with him once and he literally talked about himself for a solid hour. I mean, are you fucking kidding me? I do not need to know in detail how someone conditions their hair."

Rina stifled a laugh, making you roll your eyes. "Do you want to go see a movie with me at least?" She asked and you pretended to think about it. Then you shook your head. "Y/N! Come on! Please?"

"You hover more than my mother, bro," you said and she pouted at you.

"Please?" She whined and you shook your head. She started repeating the word over and over, her voice gradually getting louder and louder until you were both practically screaming at each other.

Fifteen minutes later, you were dressed and walking beside of your best friend with your arms crossed and a scowl on your face. "Cheer up, Y/N!" Rina said and you shot her a fake smile.

"Bite me, Rina. I don't like you right now," you said. "I wasn't planning on going out. I was totally fine with lounging on my couch in my non-matching pajamas and watching satisfying videos on YouTube."

"You're a real couch potato, you know that?"

You glared at her, your frown deepening. "Fight me then."

As the two of you approached the theater, you saw Rina's boyfriend standing outside. You stopped in your tracks and went to turn around. It's not that you didn't like Jisung. Jisung was a funny guy, but you really didn't feel like third wheeling.

"Wait, Y/N! No!" Rina said as she grabbed your arm. She turned you around and you pouted like a child.

"Good to see you too, Y/N," Jisung said with a laugh.

"Sorry Jisung," you said. You shoved Rina's hand off of you. "This thing right here dragged me out of my house when I made it so obvious I didn't want to go out."

Jisung sent a look to Rina, who smiled apologetically. "Well, at least you won't be third wheeling like the last time she dragged you out," he said and you raised an eyebrow at him. "I invited one of my friends along."

"Oh," you said. How fun. If he was Jisung's friend and anything like Jisung, you would probably find him annoying. One Jisung was enough, honestly.

"Ah, there he is," Jisung looked behind you and you turned around. Your mouth fell open in shock.

It was Minho, one of your exes. He was a couple years older than you and lived beside you when you were younger. You originally started "dating" when you were seven years old and he was nine.

Both of your parents were seriously convinced that you'd end up getting married one day. You see, you had dated until you were sixteen. He was eighteen and was about to graduate high school and go off to college in America. And he didn't want to do a long distance relationship so you two decided to break up.

It was one of the most heartbreaking things you had ever experienced in your life. And to be honest, you still loved him a lot. Which is probably why relationships after Minho didn't work.

"Minho," you said. Minho smiled as he took in the sight of you. He recognized you immediately. After all, you were the first love of his life. Well, the only love of his life. It had only been a couple years but no girl had managed to capture his heart like you did.

"Y/N," he said. He wanted to embrace you but he thought it was kind of inappropriate. It had felt like it had been way longer than two years. He had missed you and he'd be lying to himself if he said he didn't. But to be honest, you had missed him just as much.

"Do you two know each other?" Jisung asked and both of you nodded.

"We used to date," Minho said. You nodded your head and glanced over at Rina, who was smirking a bit. You rolled your eyes and looked back at Minho.

He sure did look good. His hair was a little longer than the last time you had seen him. And he must've gotten some friends with a better fashion style cause he dressed better. He was wearing a striped button up and jeans. It was a casual look but he looked effortlessly stunning.

"If you guys want to go somewhere and catch up, that's totally fine," Jisung said. "You don't have to watch the movie if you don't want to."

"It's up to you," you and Minho said at the same time and you both laughed. Jisung and Rina shared a knowing look then smiled.

"Um, I'd like to catch up," Minho said shyly and you nodded. You both looked at your friends. "We'll see you later?"

"Sure, definitely," Jisung said. Then he and Rina went into the theater. You looked over at Minho as you tucked a piece of hair behind your ear.

"You look good," he said and you blushed hard. You had put on some weight and your hair had grown a lot since the last time he saw you. You weren't sure if he was just being nice or not, but the compliment still made you flustered. Minho just had that affect on you.

"I gained some weight," you admitted and he rolled his eyes.

"You know I don't care about that," he said. "Wanna go to our cafe?" As soon as those words left his lips, it sent your stomach into flips. He remembered our cafe? You managed to nod your head and Minho slipped his hand into yours. Way to sent my heart into cardiac arrest there, Minho.

The two of you walked to the cafe to the end of the street. You walked inside and the smell of coffee made your heart warm. You got in line and Minho looked over at you.

"You can sit, if you want," he said. "I still know what you get. That is if it hasn't changed." You raised an eyebrow at him. "A French toffee cappuccino, right?"

You smiled a goofy smile and nodded. "And a slice of chocolate chip cake if they have it."

"Of course, you love your sweets," he said and you smiled. "I'll pay. You can go sit."

"Minho, no. I can't let you pay."

"You know you can't win this argument, Y/N. You never did."

Your cheeks flushed as you puffed them out a bit. "Fine," you said. Then you walked over to the corner table, the one you always sat at while you were dating.

Minho came over minutes later with a tray in his hands. He sat the tray down and handed you your drink and your slice of cake. He put his own drink down and discarded the tray. Then he slid into the seat across from you.

"So, how have you been?" You asked as you took a sip of your cappuccino.

"I've been good," he smiled. He took a sip of his coffee. He had always preferred a regular coffee with nothing added. Just coffee. "You?"

"Good, good," you said. "I graduated high school then I started working. Been working since then."

"Ah," he said. "I've decided to go to college here. College in America wasn't working for me. I missed home too much." He paused. "I missed you too much."

You nearly choked on your cappuccino. You managed to swallow and looked up at him. "You missed me?" You asked.

"Of course," he said. "You're my girl, Y/N. You always will be." He took another sip of his coffee. "Have you...moved on?"

You wanted to roll your eyes but refrained. "Of course not. I tried, but they never worked out."

"Oh yeah. Me too," he said. "It's like something was trying to tell me that you were really the one. I mean, I didn't believe in that when I was younger. But now I do."

"Yeah," you said. "I have to admit, it's good to see you."

"Yeah? It's good to see you too," he said. "You've been on my mind a lot lately." He smiled. "I'm kind of glad I agreed to meet up with Jisung tonight. I mean, I didn't know you'd be there but I'm glad you were."

You laughed a bit. "I wasn't going to go out tonight but I'm glad I did."

"I know we've just seen each other again after a couple of years but I'd like to give us a second chance, if that's okay with you?"

You blushed and nodded a bit. "I'd like that." You used your fork to slice your cake then took a bite. You looked at Minho with a small smile. "You know, I think maybe our parents were right."

"About what?" He asked.

"About us," you explained. "They always said we'd end up being together in the end. And I really do think they were right."

Minho smiled and you felt your heart flutter like it always did. "You know what? I think they're right, too."
