It was nearly ten at night when your phone lit up in the darkness and started ringing obnoxiously. You brought your covers over your head in hopes that maybe the caller would stop. Once it did, you sighed in relief only to groan with aggravation as it started ringing again.
You threw your covers off and grabbed your phone from your night stand. You squinted at the brightness of your screen, scowling when you saw that it was Felix, your best friend.
"This better be good, Lix," you grumbled before answering the phone. "What do you want?"
"Y/N, finally! It's about time," Felix's deep voice rung through the phone. Your eyebrows furrowed at his words. You just wanted to go back to bed. "You down for a race?"
Your mood perked and you sat up a bit in your bed. "That was a dumb question. You know I'm always down for a race."
"Ah, all right. Get your cute ass out of bed and get down here then," Felix replied.
"I'll be there soon," you answered him then you hung up and tossed your phone onto your bed. You forced yourself out of the covers then got dressed in all black. Then you grabbed your phone and keys and headed out.
This happened frequently. Felix would call you at late hours and ask if you wanted to race. And, of course, you never turned down the opportunity to race. Obviously, street racing was risky and completely illegal. But you just couldn't help yourself. You loved racing.
It didn't take long for you to reach your destination. Cars aligned the streets, music blasting from their speakers. It was so loud that you could feel the vibrations from the bass. A lot of people looked your way and cheered. A small smirk grew onto your lips knowingly and you continued driving up the street.
"Ah, there she is!" Felix said as you pulled up and you couldn't help but roll your eyes at him.
There were two other cars parked along the start up line. There were really nice and you knew that there was more than fifty grand under each hood. You slowed down to a stop and stepped out of your car.
"We're still waiting for Han to show up," Felix told you and you nodded. You looked over at your opponents, who were both looking at you.
"You've gotta be kidding me, Felix! There's no way we're gonna beat Y/N!" Hyunjin said and you smirked.
"Maybe, but Han might," Felix smirked and you shot him a look. Who the hell was this Han guy? Before you could ask Felix anything, a sleek black Charger pulled up. The windows were tinted and you couldn't see anything. But you guessed that that was this Han person.
The car smoothly came to a stop then the driver door opened. A boy stepped out and a few people came over. They dapped him up and you watched him curiously. Then he turned around and his eyes met yours.
He was insanely attractive. Soft defined features and captivating eyes. He was wearing all black and his hair was dark. A smirk grew onto his heart shaped lips.
"Han! You made it!" Felix said and the boy smiled at Felix. Then he said something to the guys he was talking to before making his way over.
Han kept his eyes on you for a while then looked at Felix, a smug smile stretching across his lips. "Ah..you know I never pass up a good race," he said then looked at you. "And who might you be?"
"Oh, this is Y/N, the girl I've been telling you about," Felix said before glancing at you. "Y/N, this is Han Jisung. He's a friend of mine from high school."
"Oh," you said and offered him a smile. "It's nice to meet you."
"The pleasure is all mine, princess," Jisung said and your cheeks flared up at the pet name. His eyes lingered on you for a moment then he looked back at Felix. "So, we gonna race or what?"
"Hell yeah," Felix said then smiled widely. He looked at you and Jisung then over at the other two components. "Let's race."
A smirk crept onto your lips as you walked over to your car. You slid into the driver seat of your car and rolled the windows down. You nearly jumped when Jisung put his hands on the window sill and leaned down to look at you.
"Jumpy, aren't you, princess?" He smirked and you rolled your eyes.
"I have a name, you know?" You said, ignoring the way your cheeks burned. You didn't know why he had this affect on you. You barely even knew the guy.
"Yeah, I know," Jisung replied. "I'd like to take you out on a date. Maybe tomorrow night?"
You raised an eyebrow at him. "I don't think you're gonna want a date with the girl who's about to beat you."
"Don't be so sure of that, princess," Jisung replied and you just looked at him. "Let's make it interesting then. If I win, I get to take you out and you can't say no. If you win, you don't have to."
Your lips curved into a smirk. You never lost in a race and you definitely weren't going to start today. "All right, it's your funeral," you said. "But you've got yourself a deal."
Jisung just smiled at you. Then he stood up and walked over to his own car. He shot you a wink then slid into the driver seat.
You rolled your eyes and looked ahead as Felix walked in front of the cars. Everyone had gathered around by now. Felix stretched both arms out. "Ready..."
The thrumming of engines roaring to life sent vibrations through your body. And there was nothing more that you loved. You tightened your hands around the wheel and lightly pressed on your gas.
Felix moved his arms out in front of him, his hands turning into finger guns. "Set...." The engines got louder and you felt a rush of adrenaline flow through your veins. A smirk quirked up onto Felix's lips as he looked around.
"Go!"
As soon as the word slipped through Felix's lips, you pressed down on the gas pedal and you sprung forward. You quickly shifted gears and floored the pedal, the acceleration elevating as you continued down the road.
With a quick look in the rear view mirror, you saw that Jisung was gaining on you. You shifted gears again and sped up. But you couldn't deny how fast he was. Within seconds, he was caught up to you again.
You and Jisung shifted between that number one position as you descended down the street. You drifted around the corner and saw the finish line. You jabbed your thumbs onto the nitro buttons and you launched ahead of Jisung.
But not for very long. Jisung charged up his nitro and soon you were caught up with each other. You both zoomed down the streets, the world outside going by in a big blur. You were so close to winning, you could almost taste it.
Then Jisung sped forward and crossed the finish line. "Dammit!" You said. You crossed the finish line and slowed down to a stop. Jisung stepped out of his car and people gathered around him, congratulating him and praising him.
You stepped out of your own vehicle and leaned against it. After Jisung's felicitations died down, he made his way over to you with a smug look on his face.
"So, what time should I pick you up?" He asked keeping the smugness on his face.
You rolled your eyes and sighed. "I'm working until five," you said and he nodded.
"I'll pick you up after work then," he replied.
"You don't have to pick me up, I can just meet you somewhere," you tried but he shook his head.
"Please," he remarked. "I'm a gentleman. I'm picking you up. Are you always this stubborn?"
You frowned and crossed your arms over your chest. "No," you mumbled and he gave you a look. You rolled your eyes. "I'm not stubborn."
"Keep telling yourself that, princess."

Jisung's arms wrapped around your waist as he brought you closer. You shifted on his lap and laced your fingers into his hair, making a small grunt escape from the back of his throat.
Jisung's hands moved up the back of your shirt, his fingertips ghosting against your spine. You let out a small gasp and Jisung slowly moved his tongue into your mouth, making you groan.
Your phone started ringing and you let out a frustrated whine. You pulled away only to have Jisung pull you back in. You laughed and tried to pull away again. But he wouldn't let you.
Jisung moved his hands down to your ass before he landed a harsh slap to it. A whimper escaped from the back of your throat and you kissed him harder and deeper. Eventually, your phone stopped ringing.
Then Jisung's phone started ringing. You laughed and pulled away from his lips. Jisung dug his phone out of his back pocket as you started kissing his neck. "It's Felix," Jisung told you and you just continued kissing his neck.
"What do you want Felix? I'm kind of in the middle of something," Jisung said after he pressed the phone to his ear. You moved your fingers under the hem of his t-shirt and started nipping your teeth against his skin.
Jisung gripped your thigh harshly to warn you but you ignored him. "Wait..hold on. Slow down, Felix. You're talking too fast."
This caught your attention. You pulled back and gave him a look. His eyes were filled with worry and his jawline had tensed.
"Okay, just stay there. We'll be there soon," Jisung said then he hung up. You waited for him to explain. "Minho got into a fight and Felix had to break it up. He's in the hospital right now."
"Shit," you mumbled. You climbed into the front and slid into the passenger seat. Jisung got into the driver seat then started the engine. Then he drove as fast as he could to the hospital.
When you arrived, the both of you rushed inside and you immediately spotted Felix. "Lix!" You said and he quickly looked up. He stood from the uncomfortable hospital chair and ran over to you. You gave him a tight hug and you felt him bury his face into your neck.
"Lix," you said as you rubbed his back soothingly. "It's okay. It'll be okay."
"It's bad..." Felix said as he pulled away. "He was barely conscious when I got to him. It was with those guys...they're part of the underground races. Minho said he had some business with them and then I found him all busted up."
You looked at him sympathetically. "I'm sure he'll be okay," you said. "Let's just sit down and wait for the doctors."
Felix nodded then you both walked over to the waiting area. You were about to sit down when you noticed something. You looked around and a frown grew onto your lips. "Where'd Jisung go?" You asked and Felix shrugged. Your frown deepened. "I'll be back, okay?"
Felix nodded his head faintly then you walked out of the hospital. You shielded your eyes from the sun as you looked around. His Charger was still there in the parking lot. So where the hell did he go?
You started walking to see if you could find him. About ten minutes later, you found him sitting on a bench in a basketball court. He looked like he was in deep thought. You sighed and walked over to him.
"You okay?" You asked and he looked up. When he saw it was you, he stood up and immediately wrapped his arms around you. You wrapped your arms around him as well and leaned into his body.
You hadn't known him very long. It had only been a month but it felt like you had known him your whole life. And you'd be lying if you said you didn't feel anything for him.
"I'm sorry I just ran off like that. It's just..." he trailed off as he pulled away. "Minho is like my brother. And I've already lost so many people. I can't lose him too, Y/N. I just can't."
"And you won't," you placed a light kiss onto his cheek. His lips curved into the hint of a smile and he pulled you closer. Then he kissed you passionately.
"I think I'm in love with you Y/N," Jisung said. You bit your lip nervously then kissed him again.
"I love you too, Jisung."
Your moment was interrupted by your phone ringing. You quickly got your phone out and answered it when you saw it was Felix. He told you Minho was awake now and then you and Jisung rushed back to the hospital.
Felix was waiting for you when you finally returned. Then the three of you headed back to Minho's room. Felix opened the door then you all went inside.
Minho was sitting up in the hospital bed. He had a bruised eye and a busted up nose and lip.
"Ah, there's Yongbokie," Minho said and Felix glared at him. Minho laughed and looked at you and Jisung.
"How you feeling, Min?" You asked.
"I feel a little groggy but I'm good. I'm ready to get out of here," Minho said. His eyes moved down to your hand, which was intertwined with Jisung's. He smiled at you both then looked back at Felix.
"Can you stop looking so tense? Jeez Yongbok," Minho said. "I'm fine."
"I know," Felix said. "But I was really worried."
"Ah," Minho waved him off. "Don't worry. I'll be out of here soon and I'll be right back behind the wheel where I belong."
•••
"You shouldn't have agreed to this. You're gonna lose," Hyunjin warned Minho as he slid in behind his wheel. Minho shot him a look and Hyunjin put both of his hands up in defense. "Hey now. I'm just saying."
"I'm not gonna lose," Minho grumbled as he fastened his seatbelt and put his hands on the wheel.
"You know, there's a reason why they say Y/N and Jisung own these streets," Hyunjin continued and Minho rolled his eyes. "I'm serious, man. You're gonna lose."
"Ah, Hyunjin," Jisung said as he walked over and slung his arm around Hyunjin's shoulder. "Why don't we let Minho here find out for himself, huh?"
Minho shot both of them a look and Jisung just grinned innocently. Minho rolled his eyes and revved up his engine. Then he pulled out of his parking spot and drove to the starting point, where you were waiting for him.
Your windows were rolled down and you were bumping to an upbeat song. You looked over as Minho pulled up beside your car. You shot him a smirk and he swallowed harshly. Maybe Hyunjin was right. Maybe this was a bad idea. But it was too late now.
Felix walked between your cars then stood in front of them. "Ready..." He pointed at Minho and Minho revved his engine. Then Felix pointed at you. "Set..."
Your smirk grew as you looked ahead and turned your key. Your engine roared to life, overpowering the sound and vibrations coming from Minho's car.
Minho's eyes widened. "Oh shit." He was so screwed.
Felix smirked as he listened to the sound of your engines merging together, the vibrations sending him into excitement. He suddenly moved his hands up, the word go slipping through his lips like silk. Minho floored the pedal but it was too late. You were gone.
