Slamming the door behind you, you kicked your shoes off and walked into the living room of your mom's house. You put your keys into the bowl on the side table and slipped your jacket off before throwing it onto the back of the couch.
You were finally home after a long morning of work. You had gone in at eight am and had just gotten off at four. It had been a long eight hours of you dealing with irritating customers and a bitching boss who complained more than the customers did.
"Y/N, is that you honey?" Your mom called from upstairs. You trudged up the stairs and down the hall to her bedroom. She looked at you and smiled. "Hey hon. How was work?"
"Excruciating," you replied. You leaned into the doorway of her bedroom as you watched her clean up her room. There was something off about her but you couldn't place it. You pushed yourself off of the doorway and cleared your throat. "I didn't get to shower this morning so I'm going to go shower."
"Okay, hon," she said. You turned on your heel and walked away. "Oh, and by the way, Junhoe will be coming over for dinner."
You stopped abruptly and went back to her room. "Then I won't be eating tonight," you told her and she frowned. "Mom, come on! The guy's a creep! He always stares at me and it makes me uncomfortable. And it doesn't help that he makes comments that make my skin crawl."
"He's just trying to get you to warm up to him," your mom reasoned and you scoffed.
"I highly doubt that," you said. "You're just so blinded by his deep pockets and looks that you can't even see the true type of person he is."
"That's enough Y/N!" Your mom snapped. "Whether you like it or not, we are planning on getting married. And I expect you to treat him with respect."
You scoffed again and rolled your eyes. Then you turned around and stormed to your room. You immediately shut the door and locked it. Then you went into the side bathroom. After stripping your clothes off, you turned the shower on and stepped in, closing the door behind you.
You were furious. Your mom had been dating Junhoe for a good while but he had always had a vibe to him you didn't like. You'll never forget when he made a comment about you, saying that it was hard to believe you didn't have someone wrapped around your finger already with a body like yours. Then he said that he would be wrapped around you if he wasn't with your mom.
When you told your mom about it, she didn't believe you. He was gross, a complete creep. You hated being around him. Everytime you were, he'd stare at you when your mom wasn't around or looking. And to know that your mom was planning on marrying the bastard, it sent your body burning with rage.
Your mom wasn't a bad person. Hell, she was a great woman and an even greater mother. She was just lonely, which you understood. But there were other options in life.
Your parents had split when you were young due to the fact that they just didn't love each other. It had made you question the existence of love and whether or not it would ever come for you.
Your dad wasn't the type to try to have a relationship with his kids. He was drawn into the dark web of liars and manipulative women. And he had put that first so you stopped talking to him a long time ago, along with your older sister. It had just been the three of you for a long time until your sister got herself a boyfriend and a stable job and eventually moved out.
Your mom had met Junhoe a year ago. Junhoe was young, attractive, and loaded. And not just with money. He was full of bullshit and it made you furious that your mom had been blinded by him for so long.
After taking the longest shower you had ever had, you dried off and got dressed. You checked your phone to see that it was after five now. You sighed and stuffed your phone into the pocket of your hoodie. Then you headed downstairs.
Junhoe was sitting in the living room, his legs crossed and a drink in his hands. Judging by the color of it, you guessed that it was bourbon. Junhoe smiled at you and your whole body froze.
You sat down on the other couch, avoiding eye contact and forcing yourself to look at your phone. You stiffened when Junhoe stood. He sat his glass onto the side table and walked over, sitting way too close to you.
He looked over at you and you put your phone away before looking at him. He was seriously way too close. You could smell his nauseating aftershave and the bourbon on his breath.
"You know, you're a very beautiful girl, Y/N," Junhoe said, an ugly smirk spreading onto his lips. You swallowed harshly. "And all beautiful girls deserved to be pleasured." He put his hand on your thigh and your breath got caught in the back of your throat. "I can please you in ways you never thought of, Y/N."
As he squeezed your thigh, you immediately shoved him off and stood up. "Don't fucking touch me," you spat. He just smirked at you while looking you up and down. You narrowed your eyes at him before you went up to your room.
You grabbed your backpack and emptied its contents onto your bed. Angry tears filled your eyes and your whole body shook with rage. You shoved some clothes into your bag, along with the necessities. Then you slung your bag onto your back and shoved your feet into a pair of busted up vans.
You hastened out of your room and bounded down the stairs. You peaked your head into the living room and luckily, you didn't see Junhoe. You grabbed your keys from the bowl and rushed out of the house.
Rain was teeming heavily. You put your hood up and jogged to your car. As you got in and started the engine, the gas light came on and you cursed. Regardless, you backed out of the driveway and started driving. You wasn't sure where you were going, you were just driving.
You pulled your phone out and dialed your best friend Jisung's number. It went straight to voicemail and you cursed. The dumb bitch must've been sleeping. Your car started slowing down. "Shit!" You yelled as you banged your fists onto the steering wheel.
You removed your keys from the engine and got out of the car. The rain immediately started pounding on your head. You grabbed your bag and put it onto your back. You shoved your hands into your pockets to keep them warm then you started walking.
You were soaked and freezing by the time you made it to Jisung's apartment building. You took your hood off as you entered the warm building. You kept your head low and walked up the stairs to the sixth floor.
You stood in front of Jisung's apartment, shakily bringing your hand up to knock. You knocked a few times before the door opened.
"Y/N, what are you doing here?" He asked. "And why are you soaked?"
"You sure don't miss anything," you mumbled sarcastically. "I need somewhere to stay and you're all I have right now, Sungie."
He opened the door wider and you stepped in. You kicked your shoes off and tossed your bag onto the floor. Then you peeled your soaked hoodie off and laid it on top of your bag.
You sat down on his couch, bringing your legs up into your chest in hopes of heating up. Jisung sat on the other side of the couch and ruffled his bed hair. He looked over at you and noticed your shivering state.
He stood immediately. "I'll get you some dry clothes," he said. You opened your mouth to protest but he shushed you. "Don't be stubborn. I don't want you getting sick." Before you could say anything else, Jisung was out of the living room.
He came back not even a minute later with a pair of sweats and one of his hoodies. "Here," he said. "You can change in the bathroom. Do you remember where it is?"
You nodded and took the clothes from him. You stood up and walked down the hall and into the bathroom. You struggled to peel your clothes off since they practically clung to you. After you were down to your underwear, you grabbed a towel from under the sink and dried off. Then you slipped Jisung's hoodie on and pulled his sweats on.
Jisung's hoodie was warm and his comforting scent made you smile. His sweats were a little loose so you tightened the strings. You walked over to the mirror and looked at your reflection. You ran your fingers through your wet strands then walked out of the bathroom.
Jisung looked at you as you came down the hall. You looked kind of adorable in his clothes and he actually liked you in them. He opened his arms and you blushed before going into them. He pulled you closer to his body and yours started to gradually warm up.
"Do you want to talk about what happened?" He asked softly.
"My mom is marrying that creep," you said. "And he drew the last straw today."
Jisung's jaw clenched and he narrowed his eyes. "What did he do?"
"He was making vulgar comments like usual," you replied. "He said that beautiful girls like me deserved to be pleasured and that he could pleasure me in ways I've never thought. It really made me uncomfortable."
"Did you tell your mom?" Jisung asked as he tried to suppress his anger. You took notice of his knee starting to bounce up and down and you glanced up at his face. He was irritated and worried and you could tell he was getting mad to.
You shook your head. "I just...left. I'm sorry I showed up here unannounced, Sungie. I mean, I tried to call but.."
"Stop," he said. "Don't apologize. You know you're always welcome here." He licked his lips. "I wanna kick that bastard's ass. He made my girl uncomfortable."
Your heart fluttered at his words. You'd be lying if you said you had never felt anything for Jisung. It was cliche to be in love with your best friend but there was just something about him.
He had always been there for you through the good times and bad times and everything else in between. And he could make you laugh like no one else. Sure, he was a little clingy and flirty at times but you made an acception just because it was Jisung.
You had been in love with him since the third grade, which is when you had met him. You were the new girl and Jisung was the first to befriend you. He was a sweet boy and sat with you every day at lunch. And from those days in elementary school, a friendship grew.
Of course, eight year old you had no idea what love was until the tenth grade. You had gotten your first boyfriend and was a naive and blinded by the idea of it. That boy ripped your heart out and Jisung was there to pick up the pieces. And that's when you realized you loved him.
You had tried to make it obvious at first but Jisung was an oblivious idiot. So you gave up. You were convinced that Jisung didn't feel the same way you did about him. But little did you know was that he did.
Jisung had loved you since the sixth grade. He thought you were the most beautiful girl he had every laid his eyes on. To him, you only seemed to get prettier as the years passed. You were a bit of a dork but he loved you nonetheless. You were smart and funny, a bit awkward at times, and he loved to just hear you talk.
He knew everything about you. From your favorite songs to your favorite books. He knew about your soft side and all of the movies that made you cry. He knew about all of your hopes and dreams and supported you completely. After all, he was your best friend.
It was the most cliche thing. Two best friends being in love with each other but neither of them knew about it. And both of them were too afraid to confess because they were convinced the other didn't feel the same.
"Y/N?" Jisung said after a while and that's when you realized you had dazed off. You hummed in response. "I need to tell you something."
Your heart started hammering in your chest. "What's up?" You asked as smoothly as you could, but your nerves ended up taking over your voice.
"I don't really know how to say this, so I'm going to just spit it out," Jisung said and you nodded. "So, I'm in love with you."
You nearly choked on your saliva. "W-what?"
"I'm in love with you, Y/N. I have been since the sixth grade," he explained. "And I swear, I just fall more in love with you every single day. You're precious to me."
Your cheeks flushed and you nibbled on your bottom lip. You didn't really know what to say. Your heart told you that you should also confess but your stubborn mind told you to just stay quiet.
"Please say something," he begged. Then his eyes widened and he started to remove his arms from around you. "You probably don't even feel the same. I'm so sorry. This is awkward."
"Jisung," you said but he just kept rambling. You actually found it quite cute. You shifted your body into a better position and boldly kissed his lips to shut him up.
He immediately stopped talking and started moving his lips slowly against yours, one his arms wrapping back around you while his hand cupped your cheek. The kiss was sweet and innocent and made butterflies dance around in the pit of your stomach.
You pulled away to catch your breath and buried your reddening face into his chest. Jisung laughed and moved his other arm to wrap around you.
"I love you too, Sungie," you said, your words muffled a bit. Jisung smiled knowingly and kissed the top of your head. You smiled against his chest, inhaling his scent as you wrapped your arms around him.
"You can stay here as long as you want," Jisung said after a while. "I'll take care of you."
"I know you will," you smiled. "You always have taken care of me."
"I mean, you're my girl. Of course I'm going to take care of you." Jisung chewed on his bottom lip nervously.
You smirked slyly. "Since when was I your girl?"
Jisung pouted and you laughed before poking his chubby squirrel-like cheek. You placed a light peck onto his cheek and Jisung couldn't keep the smile off of his face. He just couldn't stay mad at you, he loved you too much.
"Do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asked quietly as his fingers started to lightly play with your hair.
You nodded your head. "Of course I do, you idiot." Jisung smiled and pressed a kiss onto your head as he continued to play with your hair. You closed your eyes and cuddled into Jisung a little more.
Jisung started to hear small and patterned breaths leave your lips as you slept comfortably in his arms and he smiled to himself. For years, he had loved you and always wished for you to be his girl. And now you were and he couldn't be happier.
