Han

It's a very cold and windy afternoon. No matter the weather, people still walked around the city, visiting their loved ones, going shopping, or maybe to work.

(Y/n) is indoors, covered in blankets while wearing a washed-out blue and white hoodie and sweats. She's on the bed, making sure she doesn't go out because she hates the cold.

"Hey, have you seen my other sock?", Changbin, her roommate of three years, asked while storming into her room.

She peeked over and almost laughed at how he's wearing only one sock. Shrugging her shoulders, she got off her bed and opened the last drawer of her dresser, taking out a sock that matched the one he's wearing.

"It was in my laundry. I washed it and thought I lost the other one", she handed the sock to him before going back to the bed.

Instead of Changbin sitting down on a chair, or something to be able to put the sock on his foot without harming himself, he stood on one foot and tried putting it on that way. Sadly he failed and fell forward.

"Aren't you supposed to be the smart one out of both of us?", (y/n) chuckled while helping him up.

He shook his hair before combing his fingers through to fix it. He watched as she sat on the bed while fidgeting her fingers.

"Are you nervous about your date with Jisung tomorrow?", he asked.

"We're going to the movies...is that not weird? From stories I heard, people don't usually go to the movies to watch the actual movie. There's a lot of making out. Is he..planning to do that?", she asked.

Raising an eyebrow, he smirked before saying, "do you want him to make out with you? Is that such a bad thing?"

"It is if he's planning to do something else", she said.

"Jisung isn't like that. He really likes you. He kept asking a bunch of us what you like and I mentioned how obsessed you are with horror movies, even though he really hates it", he said.

(Y/n) remembered Jisung mentioned the movie they're gonna watch which is a horror movie. If he hates horror movies, why did he say they're gonna watch one?

"Now does it really sound like he's playing with your feelings if he's sacrificing what he calls his 'coolness'? He screams like a girl when he gets scared", he chuckled.

She thought about it and said to herself that it's not fair if they do something only one of them likes. So, she began planning other things to do after the movie theater.

"Hey....do you mind if you come with us? I mean, with your girlfriend. Can you ask her?", she asked with pleading eyes.

"I don't know if she'll wanna go but I can ask. But what about Jisung? What if he doesn't want it to be a double date?", Changbin asked.

"It won't be a double date. You guys can mind your own business and we'll mind ours. I just feel like it'll be easier on me if you were around", she said.

"(Y/n), you're gonna have to start getting used to being alone with Jisung. I can't always be around because then it'll feel like a threesome when it's supposed to be a twosome. Plus, my girlfriend will feel a bit jealous. Anyway, I'll do you this favor this time. Next time you're on your own", Changbin told her before leaving the room.

(Y/n) sighed loudly and hit her face with a pillow.

The next day, (y/n) checked herself in the mirror, wondering if the dress she had on looks nice on her. She changed a few times but she can agree on the dress she's wearing. Her hair is down, a bit wavy. And all she had on for makeup is mascara and eyebrows filled in.

"Yo", Changbin knocked on her door and said Jisung is waiting in the living room.

She panicked and threw a pillow towards Changbin before running into her bathroom, locking the door.

He put the pillow aside and knocked on the door before turning the knob.

"(Y/n), you gotta open up. We're leaving in a few minutes. This is no time to play chicken", he said.

"But.....I don't know if I can do it. What if I say something stupid? Or make myself look like an idiot? I've never been on a date before because I'm always messing everything up", (y/n) paced back and forth, gripping onto a small towel.

"It's perfectly normal to feel nervous. Jisung is nervous as well. But he's also really excited. If you don't go, he's gonna be really bummed out", he said.

Sighing, she stepped out of the bathroom and faced a smiling Changbin.

They walked towards the living room where Changbin's girlfriend, Nana, was also waiting. Jisung smiled at (y/n) as soon as he saw her.

"Wow, you look really nice. You're wearing the dress I bought for you", Jisung said.

"Yeah, I actually forgot I had it. It was all the way in the back of my closet. I didn't think it was gonna fit...you look nice too", she smiled awkwardly as Changbin and his girlfriend looked at them with an 'awe' expression.

"They grow up so fast", Nana pouted while holding a hand to her chest.

While driving to the movie theater, Jisung would glance at (y/n) a few times. The dress did fit her perfectly. Before he bought it, he kept thinking what style she likes. He carefully observed what she wore and what she's into. He didn't want to buy her a dress that is too short or revealing because he noticed how she's more comfortable covered.

"I can't wait to watch that action movie I've been waiting for. We have to get the candy I like so I can enjoy it even more", Nana tapped his arm.

Changbin just nodded because he doesn't really like taking while driving. He looked at the rear view mirror and watched (y/n)'s red face. Both Jisung and her were quiet, even though they really wanted to talk.

"Jisung, doesn't (y/n) look different? She's even prettier than usual, right?", Nana asked while trying not to smile.

"..yeah, you're right. Although I do feel like you're gonna be cold. Let me know if you do", Jisung said to (y/n) who was blushing intensely.

She nodded.

They stood in line to check in for the movie. Changbin and Nana were in front of Jisung and (y/n). It wasn't much of a long line though they wish it could go a bit faster.

There was a guy smirking and chuckling behind the two. Jisung glanced back and noticed he was trying to get closer to (y/n).

"What the hell? This chick has weird ears. And they're huge! Aren't you mistaken for an elephant?", the guy laughed.

(Y/n) covered her ears with her hands and tried to move her hair over them. It's not her fault she was born with slightly big ears.

Jisung placed his arm around her waist and glared at the guy before whispering in her ear.

"There's nothing wrong with your ears. You're perfect", he smiled.

They tried ignoring the guy but he kept saying these comments that really bothered Jisung. After every negative comment, (y/n) would lower her head. Changbin and Nana overheard.

"Hey peabrain, what are you laughing at? She's taller than you and hot af while you look like a walking stick. Do us a favor and shut your trap before I shut it for you", Nana had to be held back by Changbin.

He told them to go first so they wouldn't have to deal with the guy. When they entered, Jisung asked if (y/n) is okay but as always she shrugs it off with a smile.

"Nothing I haven't heard before. Do you wanna get popcorn? I'm not really a popcorn kind of girl. I like sweets. Gummy bears are my favorite", (y/n) said as she walked towards the cashier who was waiting for them to order.

Jisung and (y/n) took their seats, right at the middle row. She began digging her fingers into the bag of gummy bears, heading for the blue one.

"How did you hear about this movie?", she asked him.

"Oh uh...through a friend. They told me it's really scary so...you know.. I'm here", Jisung tried to sound confident but failed as his voice squeaked.

(Y/n) smiled and continued eating her gummy bears as the movie played.

During the movie, Jisung tried not to make it obvious he's scared. But he couldn't help it as every time something popped out, he'd slightly jump and cover his face. Then he'd clear his throat and fix his posture.

"We don't have to finish watching the movie, you know? We can always sneak into another movie..maybe a comedy?", (y/n) whispered.

"Why? I'm..enjoying this movie", he hesitated.

"Jisung, Changbin told me you hate horror movies–"

"SHHH."

"Man, people are quite sensitive when watching a movie", Jisung said as he glared at the lady who shushed them from the front row.

"So do you wanna leave? I don't mind. I don't feel quite comfortable knowing you're uncomfortable", she said.

"I can sit through one scary movie. I wouldn't mind holding your hand though", he whispered.

(Y/n) looked down at his hand before placing hers on top of his. He held onto it and smiled before sitting back.

"You think Changbin and Nana are watching the movie they chose? Because last time, they were making out on the living room couch. I tried getting my magazine from under them but they were too busy", (y/n) said as Jisung threw the trash in the bin.

"Who knows? Maybe we'll quiz them when we see them", Jisung said.

While walking out of the movie theater, (y/n) could see the guy that was bothering her earlier near the benches. To be able to avoid further negative comments, she walked the other direction. Of course Jisung noticed.

"What do you wanna do now?", she asked.

She was slightly startled by Jisung holding her hand. She looked over and could see his cheeks turning red, avoiding her eyes to prevent more redness on his face.

"You shouldn't be used to people calling you names. It drains all the energy from your mental health. Trust me, I know. You were born different. But that doesn't mean it's a bad thing. I personally like your ears", he said before looking at her, smiling softly.

(Y/n) blushed and bit down on her lip before looking away. She covered her left ear with her free hand and her other ear with her hair.

"You don't think it's abnormal for a girl with big ears?", she asked.

"Like I said, it's different. There are a lot of people with different features that make them stand out. Some have big noses, others have chubby fingers, I've known people who have six toes on one foot. You shouldn't be ashamed about your ears. I'm not ashamed of how chubby my cheeks are. Or how people call me a chipmunk whenever I eat. At first, I didn't want to eat in front of anyone because of that but my friends were there for me. If people can't accept who you are, they're not worth it. I accept you for you because you are an amazing person who makes really cool bracelets", he said.

She chuckled and looked down at his wrist. He's wearing the bracelet she gave him for his birthday which makes her really happy.

"Thanks Jisung. You're an amazing person too. Maybe that's why I like you so much", (y/n) realized what she had said and immediately panicked.

"I mean........I really enjoy hanging out with you. I don't get bored", she laughed awkwardly.

He smiled, loving how shy she gets. They're both the same, shy and awkward.

"I really enjoy hanging out with you too. More than you know", he said.

"(Y/n)! Gooood Morning!", Changbin stood on her bed and jumped so she can wake up.

She groaned and threw a pillow at him, "Go suck on a toe and let me sleep."

Changbin stopped jumping and said, "Okay that's gross. And you need to wake up because you have work in an hour."

"They gave me the day off today. Now get out and let me be. I was having a good dream!", she whined.

"About Jisung, I assume?", he smirked while getting off of the bed.

(Y/n) blushed, "nothing like that you pervert!"

He laughed and sat down as he removed the pillow from her face.

"How'd the date go yesterday? Sorry we left early. Nana had a stomach ache", he said.

"How is she now? I hear there is a bug going around", she said.

"She's fine, resting. I'm gonna go in a bit to drop off some food and medicine. Anyway, don't ignore the question. How was the date with Jisung?", he asked again.

(Y/n) looked down and smiled to herself, remembering everything especially when he walked her home. She can still feel his lips on hers. Even though it was a quick peck, she felt goosebumps all over.

"I'm guessing it went really well. Did he scream like a girl?", he asked.

"No. But he did look uncomfortable so I asked him if he wanted to leave early and do something else. He stayed even though he kept getting scared. Then we just talked for a few minutes, grabbed some ice cream, and he walked me home", she said.

"Did you kiss?", he smirked, nudging her arm.

"..I mean–"

He gasped loudly and dramatically before smacking her forehead.

"OW! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!", she yelled.

"I don't know. It was just a reaction. So are you gonna keep seeing him?", he asked.

"Well..yeah. We were texting all night. He kept talking about taking me out to roller skate and eat candied apples. He's really sweet", she said, all while blushing.

"Speaking of yesterday, how are you after that asshole kept bothering you? I know he said some really mean stuff", he said.

"I do admit that it got me upset but Jisung made me feel better. He said whoever doesn't accept me for me, they're not worth it. Oh and when you see Nana, tell her I said thanks for sticking up for me. I'm really glad you have a girlfriend like her", she smiled.

"Me too. Yeah she has a big mouth but for good reason", he said.

(Y/n) looked at him in disgust, shivering before pushing him off of her bed, "you really are a pervert."

"Yah! You're the pervert because I've wasn't talking about that! I meant she likes to stick up for the people she cares about. Anyway I have to go. I'll see you later", Changbin waved before leaving.

(Y/n) sighed loudly before resting back, grabbing her phone. She unlocked it and headed straight to her instagram. There were a few posts about funny videos of cats, pictures of her friends, and places she wants to visit. She typed in Jisung's profile and looked at the recent post. It was a selfie of him covering his face with his hand while showing off the bracelet. The caption was just a white heart. White is one of her favorite colors.

She smiled widely and kept rolling on her bed in excitement. Instantly liking the picture, she placed her phone on her chest and smiled up at the ceiling.

She looked at the picture again and noticed he has over 300 likes. The pictures she posts usually get around 20 likes, sometimes 35 and not even more than five comments.

"Jisung is so cool", she mumbled while looking at his other pictures.

She stumbled onto a picture that caught her attention. It's quite blurry but can tell it was in a ramen shop. It look liked someone took the picture because Jisung was in it while sitting next to a girl who was holding up a can of soda. The caption read : "good times".

"Who's she? A model? She's so pretty", she clicked on the tag, going to her profile.

'6K followers?!', she thought, eyes widening.

"Did they used to go out or something? There are a few pictures of him on her posts", she mumbled quietly.

As she looked at each picture, she noticed that he looks really happy. Can she even compete with that? Can she make him happy?

"SHIT I ACCIDENTALLY LIKED THE PICTURE!", she quickly sat up and unliked it before getting off of the app.

She threw her phone to the side and groaned.

"I hate my life."

"Hey (y/n)!"

Jisung met up with (y/n) hours later. He had asked her if she wanted to go to the arcade and she agreed.

She smiled as he ran up to her, putting his arms around her to give her a tight hug.

"Where you waiting long? I'm sorry, the bus took forever", Jisung rubbed the back of his neck.

"It's okay. I was only waiting ten minutes. Let's go inside."

When they did, their eyes widened. There were so many games to play and they didn't know where to start.

"Oooo let's race!", Jisung pointed to the game that had fake motorcycles connected to it.

So they each got on one and began the game. (Y/n) was losing of course because games aren't her thing. It could be as easy as clapping their hands and she'd still lose.

"Damn! It's so hard to control this", she said as she got off.

"Don't get upset. You'll find something you're great at. How about air hockey?", he asked.

He held her hand and walked over, putting in two coins. (Y/n) grabbed one handle while Jisung grabbed the other.

It went on for a while until Jisung got a point...and then another...and another. (Y/n) frowned and furrowed her eyebrows.

"I give up", she muttered while walking away.

He went after her and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"We only played two games. Come on, I'll go easy on you", he chuckled.

"No..I don't really care if I'm losing. I just..don't wanna play air hockey", she said.

"Oh", he let go and looked around, tapping his chin.

"Well what do you wanna play? Anything you want", he smiled.

"Um..how about–"

"Jisung!"

Both turned to see a girl smiling at Jisung, waving before running towards him. She hugged him.

It's the same girl she saw on his post. She's even prettier in person.

That's not what really bothered (y/n). Jisung's smiling so wide, his eyes closed.

"Hey! Haven't seen you in months! How's it going?", Jisung asked her.

"Great! I finally got that Makeup-FX job I've always wanted. Though it can be a struggle because there are two other people who are more experienced. What about you? I hear you're working on music? That's really great", she said.

"Yeah. I mean, I just started but it's going really well", he said.

While they talked, (y/n) felt left out and took out her phone to look busy. She had a notification on her instagram and was about to press on the app but a hand pulled her up.

"This is (y/n). (Y/n) this is Luna. We've been friends since we were in diapers", Jisung introduced them.

(Y/n) felt a bit awkward but Luna instantly hugged her, saying it's so nice to meet her.

"So is this the girl you're always mentioning in your pictures or am I crazy?", Luna asked.

"Yeah this is her. You're like a detective. I never exposed her face to the world and you got it just like that", Jisung said.

"Well it's kinda obvious. You better treat her right. Don't be a douchebag. Anyway, I gotta get back to Aria and my dad. She gets a bit cranky with her grandpa. It was nice meeting you (y/n). And Jisung, don't be a stranger", Luna smiled before waving off.

Jisung held (y/n)'s hand and lead her towards a booth.

"So you've been friends for years, huh?", she asked him.

"Well yeah..we actually dated for a few weeks five years ago but it didn't work out. We both agreed that staying as friends is better than being in a relationship. You don't have to worry. She's happily married and has a kid. The feelings that we had for each other are permanently gone. I'm guessing that's what you're wondering about", he chuckled softly.

"..a little. She's so pretty. How have you guys known each other for so long?", she asked.

"Our parents work at the same company. Her father wanted her to follow in his footsteps into becoming CEO but she has always been interested in prosthetic makeup, like in films. Her father was a bit disappointed but supported her either way. Then she moved and I hardly hear from her but when I do, we always try to catch up", he said.

"Wow. You're so lucky. Every time I meet people, knowing them doesn't really last long because I always lose touch...or maybe because I'm a b–"

"HEY MAKE SURE TO BUY A RAFFLE TICKET TO WIN ANY PRIZE FOR FREE!"

One of the staff members announced, startling some people due to how loud it was.

Jisung's head popped up, smile widened, and clapped excitedly.

"We should buy one! Maybe we'll win", he said.

"Uh sure", Jisung quickly grabbed her hand as soon as she responded.

They grabbed two tickets and had to wait 20 minutes for the staff member to announce the winner. (Y/n) doesn't really care about raffles but Jisung looked really excited and decided to get one.

"You've been eyeing that huge stuffed polar bear ever since we've arrived. Is that what you want?", she asked.

Jisung's cheeks turned red and shook his head. He scratched the back of his neck and looked around instead of the polar bear.

"What are you gonna get if you win?", he asked.

"Hmmm..", she thought about it as she looked at each prize.

None really caught her attention. So she lied.

"I want the polar bear too", she said.

His smile slowly disappeared, "..oh. Well I hope you get it," smiling once again.

He stayed quiet after and stared at the raffle ticket. (Y/n) had to stop herself from smiling and instead looked down at her shoes. She softly shivered, feeling the wind coming from outside because the doors were open, and they were near the entrance.

A few seconds later, she felt something wrap around her. Jisung had taken off his sweater to give to her, staying close after. His hands were in the pockets of the sweater while his chin rested on her shoulder. Her face turned bright red.

"I'm cold too but I gave you my sweater so this is the only way I can feel warm", he said.

She chuckled and placed her hands inside the pockets as well, intertwining their hands together.

After a few minutes of talking, the staff member announced they will be calling out the winner. All of those who bought a raffle ticket gathered around and watched as the staff member dug their hand inside the bucket.

She glanced at Jisung, noticing he was on his toes, hoping he'd get called. Observing the way he pressed his lips together, she couldn't help but feel warm inside.

"(Y/n)."

Quickly turning to meet eyes with the staff member, Jisung softly pushed her forward so she can choose a prize. While doing so, everyone else left to either keep playing the games or went home.

"Can I get that one?", she asked the staff member.

They got the stuffed polar bear down and gave it to her. She stumbled a bit because it was bigger than her.

"Congrats on winning", Jisung tried to sound happy but every time he'd look at the polar bear, his smile would slowly disappear.

"I didn't choose this for me. I chose this for you. I know how badly you wanted this. And don't lie to me because I know. Here", she handed him the polar bear.

His shocked face made her laugh. He kept saying how she didn't have to do that and she could keep it if she really wanted to but she shook her head and explained that she wouldn't really take it because it's what he wanted.

Smiling, he thanked her and promised to buy her something that will make her smile. She shook her head and said that he doesn't need to and that she's not really a materialistic person.

"How about we go on another date, just us two? Maybe we can go stargazing? I know a spot where you can see the stars clearly. The reason why we really can't see the stars in the city is because of all the lights", he said.

"Stargazing? Really? You wouldn't wanna stay here longer?", she asked.

"I know you're not really having fun. Besides, it's too crowded here. Come on, we'll grab a taxi."

It took about half an hour to arrive at the spot Jisung was talking about. Once paying the taxi, he held her hand and lead her across a small bridge towards a grassy hill. There were all kinds of flowers, some bent and others tall.

"Perfect place to bury a body", she said.

He chuckled and kept on walking. His hand gripped hers tightly because she almost tripped in a hole.

"Careful. A lot of small gopher holes around", he said.

She steadied herself and stopped once a fallen tree had gotten in the way.

"We're here", Jisung said.

She watched as he placed the polar bear on the ground, laying down right next to it.

"You know, you can't stargaze while standing up. Your neck will hurt. Come here", he patted the spot next to him.

She laid down on the spot and felt Jisung hand around her so he can pull her closer. Once her cheeks cooled down, her eyes widened up at the stars.

How many stars do you think are up there?", she asked.

"Not sure. My sister got a star under my name. That one right there", Jisung pointed to one of the stars.

"How do you know which is yours?", she asked.

"I don't. I just point to the one that catches my eye", he chuckled.

"That's not fair. You're probably pointing to someone else's star. Your star must feel sad and lonely for you to get it wrong", she said.

"How about I get you a star and they both feel sad and lonely together?", he asked, (y/n) taking it as a joke but he was serious.

She sat up and shook the grass from her hair.

"You want to get me a star? What for?", she asked.

"It's hard to explain in words....I like you that much", he said, sitting up as well.

She was about to speak but he interrupted her, "I know you said you're not a materialistic person. I don't take you as that kind. I just wanna get you a star. It's not harmful. If I'm not around and you want to talk to someone, just talk to the star. It really helps", he said.

(Y/n) smiled softly, "You're something else."

"Is that a good thing?", he asked.

She nodded, "A very good thing."

It was quite late when Jisung took her home, around 12am. They stood on the porch, talking for a while before she said she had to go inside.

"I really had fun. Thanks Jisung", she smiled.

"I had fun too. Thanks for the bear. I promise I'll get you that star as soon as I can", he said.

"But–", Jisung covered her mouth and shook his head.

"Are you gonna carry Steve all the way home? Looks like you can hardly carry him", she said.

"I'm not taking him home. I'm leaving him here with you. He can keep you company when you miss me", he smirked, handing him to her.

"But when I miss you, I can just call you. Steve can't talk back to me, unless he's haunted", she said.

"I'm trying to be romantic here. Guess it's not working", he sighed, grabbing Steve to put him on the little bench before holding her hand.

"I know you were. I was just kidding. I get awkward and try to make jokes. Guess I'm not that funny, right?", she chuckled awkwardly.

Smiling, he disagreed and said that she's really funny, which is one reason why he likes her.

He stepped closer and pushed a few strands of hair behind her ear. He quickly looked down at her lips and hesitated to kiss her. Last time, he thought he messed it up because it was quite quick. And he left pretty quick too.

(Y/n) took a step forward and gave him a peck on the cheek but not moving away. His eyes lit up and smiled.

He placed his hand on her lower back, being her closer so he can kiss her. Her arms went around his neck while he softly pushed her against the door, accidentally ringing the doorbell. They stopped kissing and pushed themselves off of the door.

"Hopefully that didn't wake Changbin up", she said.

Jisung fixed his hair, taking steps back.

"Well, I gotta get going", he was about to walk away but she held his hand, stopping him from going anywhere.

"..it's really late. You don't wanna stay?", she asked.

His cheeks turned red and looked down at her hand.

"What will Changbin say? You're practically his sister", he said.

"Then he should trust me. Plus, he'd scold me if I let you go home at this time. It's dangerous at night", she said.

She grabbed Steve before pulling Jisung into the house.

"It's quite small and the couch is uncomfortable. I wouldn't feel good if I let you sleep there. Plus we don't have guest rooms. Is my room okay?", she whispered.

"Your...room?", Jisung once again turned red.

"What? Never slept in a girl's room before?", she smirked before holding his hand, laughing after.

They grabbed a bunch of blankets and placed them on the floor, making sure it's really comfortable for him to sleep on. She gave him two pillows and extra clothes to sleep in.

"I usually take Changbin's clothes because they're comfortable and I like it. But don't tell him that", she said, handing him a shirt and sweats.

She placed Steve on her bed, which takes up the majority of the space but decided to use the bear as a huge pillow.

"Do you want your sweater? I totally forgot", she asked.

"No. Just put it on Steve", he said.

He laid down on the blankets and covered himself.

(Y/n) took off the sweater and put it on Steve, smiling afterwards.

"Goodnight Jisung", she said.

"Goodnight (y/n)", he said.

They fell asleep, (y/n) on the edge of the bed and Jisung on the blankets that were laid down on the floor, both holding each other's hand.
