Ten months. Ten long and miserable months since you've seen Changbin. Sure you talk to him on video chat but it's not the same.

"Hey sleepyhead. Sorry if I woke you", you smiled once you saw his face on the screen.

"Nah it's okay."

He rubbed his eyes and combed his fingers through his hair. He put on his glasses and smiled tiredly at you.

"You should keep sleeping", you said.

"No. I wanna talk to you. I miss you."

"I miss you too", you whispered.

You were under your blankets, drinking hot chocolate as the cold air outside blew in through your window.

"You're gonna get sick again."

"Well I have your beanie to keep me warm", you slightly pulled down the beanie you had on your head, showing him before putting it back on.

He showed a smile and shook his head.

"I was looking for that beanie everywhere. You thief."

"Come and arrest me why don't you?", you smirked, sticking out your tongue.

"Watch the way you speak (y/n). Some of us are still awake."

"Was that Chan?", you chuckled.

"Yeah. He can't sleep. He's bickering with Felix and Jeongin."

"Nothing changes. Anyways, I have great news. I passed all of my finals. That means I'll be able to visit you this summer. My parents are paying for the trip but I'm pretty sure I have to do some extra work around here", you said.

"That's great. I can't wait to see you. That way I can finally get a kiss."

He whispered but was loud enough for Chan to hear. Obviously you were embarrassed because you haven't had your first kiss with him.

"Am I gonna have to handcuff myself to you Binnie?"

"Only if you take me to dinner first."

You chuckled at Chan and Changbin, shaking your head.

"I'll let you guys rest then. And Chan, make sure Changbin doesn't play video games when he wakes up. He always misses his breakfast because of that", you said.

"What??"

"Will do (y/n)."

"Wait that's not fair. I haven't played in weeks."

"You played yesterday. Don't lie. Chan told me", you said.

He glanced back at Chan and glared at him while Chan just smiled cheekily.

"Go to sleep Changbin. Rest up. If I find out that you played video games, I'll be really mad", you said.

"Okay. I won't. I promise."

"Okay, Goodnight", you smiled and hung up.

You closed your laptop and put it away. It was after 2 o'clock and you had nothing else to do. Pushing yourself off of your bed, you went downstairs and grabbed your keys.

"Wanna go to the park buddy?", you asked your one year old bulldog who was chewing on his bone.

You grabbed his leash and called him so he could follow you to your car. You opened the door for him but he always has trouble getting in the car so you have to carry him. He probably enjoys it.

While driving to the park, Buddy stuck his head out the window, making weird noises and barking at random objects.

He was way too excited to be going at the park. It took you five minutes to put on his leash since he kept running around in the car.

"Why do you always bark at pigeons? They don't do anything to you", you said as he kept pulling you while barking at birds.

"(Y/n)? Is that you?"

You turned to your left and met eyes with your ex boyfriend who broke up with you over two years ago.

"Yongsoo..What are you doing here?", you asked, a bit shocked to see him.

"I just moved back. How are you?", he asked, smiling.

He has changed a lot. He's more good looking now than back then. But his looks won't trick you into what he did to you.

"I'm good", you said.

You lightly pulled your dog behind you, hoping he wouldn't touch him.

"I see you still have Buddy. I would've thought you'd get rid of him. Anyways, I don't wanna fight. Can we talk?", he asked.

"Sure", you motioned him to sit on a bench nearby.

Buddy sat down near you legs, panting away as he watched people pass by.

"Look I really want to apologize for the way I acted towards you when we were together. None of it was your fault. I was just being a jerk. You didn't deserve any of that", he said.

"You were never like this. What made you want to apologize?", you asked.

"I just got to thinking and then you came up in my thoughts. At that moment I realized how stupid I was for letting you go. I blamed you for everything", he said.

He softly placed his hand over yours and continued.

"I really miss you", he said.

You looked directly into his eyes. For the first time he was actually being sincere. Though it's too late. Your feelings for him are gone and have been replaced with feelings for Changbin.

You pulled your hand away and faced the ground.

"I'm sorry Yongsoo. I'm already with someone", you said.

"Who? How long have you been with him?", he asked.

"His name is Changbin. We met a few weeks after you broke up with me. Then I started liking him about a month after. We've been together for almost five months. It took me a while to tell him that I like him", you said, smiling at the thought of being with Changbin.

"And how is it going with him?", he asked.

"Well..long distance relationships are hard but we're both trying. I honestly don't mind. But I do wish sometimes that he can be here with me. Imma go visit him this summer though", you said.

"Look I don't wanna be the one to burst some perfect bubble and I don't want you to think of my opinion in a bad way, I just don't think it'll last if it's long distance. He must be really busy if he lives elsewhere and you're still finishing school, right?", he said.

"We've been doing alright for a few months. I know it will last. And how can you say that? I thought you changed. You're still the same Yongsoo, always ruining things for me", you said.

"(Y/n), I have changed. If you give me a chance to prove it then I know I'll be able to provide more for you. I'll be more supportive-"

"I'm not giving you another chance. I really like Changbin and I'm not leaving him for you. Now I do admit I miss what we had before we got into a relationship but I really don't want to be around you. If you really changed then you should be supporting my relationship with Changbin, not trying to destroy it. I'm finally happy Yongsoo. For once in your life, let me be happy", you said before standing up, waking down the dirt path that connects to the rest of the park.

"(Y/n)! I miss you!"

You chuckled as Changbin kept yelling through the screen.

"I really do. I wanna see you. If only we weren't so busy with our schedule."

You softly frowned and wondered if he was happy with the way things are. He noticed how quiet you got so he spoke up.

"What's wrong?"

You shook your head and faked a smile. He knows you too well to believe that.

"Did something happen?"

"No...maybe....", you mumbled.

"Tell me. Let your Binnie make you feel better."

You instantly smiled and looked at the screen of your laptop.

"Are you happy?", you asked.

"Of course I am-"

"I mean with our relationship. I know it's hard for us to communicate but...if you're not happy with the way things are, you can tell me", you said.

"What makes you say something like that?"

"Well....I bumped into my ex boyfriend earlier today and he kept saying that it's not gonna last because both of us are always busy. I do have hope for our relationship. But what about you? I don't you want pushing yourself if you're not happy", you said.

You've never really expressed whenever you're sad or upset to Changbin because you weren't really that type to annoy others with your problems.

"(Y/n), you know that jerk will say anything to make you suffer. You're letting him get into your head. Don't listen to him. Because I'm really happy to be with you even if it's not physically. We'll make time for each other but at the same time we do respect each other's goals and what we want to accomplish. That's what's making this relationship work. Yes there are times when I just want to be with you so I can hug you and take pictures with you and kiss you but I'm realizing that being patient will make the relationship stronger. Feeling that connection after not seeing each other for a long time is worth the wait. Trust me, we are doing fine."

You softly nodded, keeping a smile on your face. Buddy struggled to jump on your bed but once he did, he laid down on your lap, closing his eyes to sleep.

"It's almost your birthday. Are you excited to be turning 18?"

"No. It's just another reminder that I'm getting old", you said, petting buddy.

"I'm older than you so don't exaggerate. And you don't look old at all. You still have your baby face."

"It's a blessing and a curse", you grabbed your hair and put it up in a bun.

Changbin watched as you did, softly smiling to himself. He kept wondering how he got so lucky to have you in his life. It changed forever once he asked you to be his girlfriend and he's been really happy ever since.

"You're so beautiful."

You laughed and rolled your eyes, resting your hands on your thighs.

"You always tell me that", you said.

"And I'm gonna keep telling you that because it's true. I have a beautiful girlfriend with cute dimples."

"Did you do something you weren't supposed to? Is that why you keep saying that?", you raised an eyebrow.

He laughed nervously and shook his hand. You kept lookin at him to see if he was lying. He kept stuttering.

"What time is it? You should be asleep now. You have school tomorrow."

"Mhmm. Fine I'll go to sleep. But you're still in trouble", you smiled before hanging up.

The next few days pass until your birthday hits. It was around 11am and you were still asleep because you stayed up almost all night finishing your last project for your speech class.

While dreaming about diving into a pile of donuts, you felt kisses on your cheek. Thinking it was Buddy who was licking your face, you shook your head and turned onto your stomach, digging your face onto the pillow.

"(Y/n), wake up. I can't give you your birthday kiss if you're asleep."

Your eyes opened immediately as soon as you recognized that voice. Turning your head, you met eyes with a smiling Changbin. You quickly wrapped your arms around him and pulled him in for a tight hug.

"What are you doing here?? I thought you had a busy schedule", you asked him, smiling like an idiot.

"You didn't think I'd leave you to spend your birthday by yourself, did you? I had this all planned out. For weeks. I wanted to surprise you", he smiled.

"Well I'm surprised. Did you come here by yourself?", you asked.

"A few of the guys came with me. They're staying at a hotel. The other will come in the next few days. I'm visiting for a month and then going back to continue the rest of the schedule. I'm gonna spend every day with you to make up all the time we missed", he said.

"So what are we gonna do today?", you asked.

He stood up onto his feet and showed you a list of what he has planned.

"First we are going to eat breakfast. Then I'm taking you to the carnival. The beach is right after so we can see the sunset. And we'll come back here and enjoy the rest of the night", he said.

You placed the list in front of you and chuckled at the cute doodles he did on the sides.

"Also, I got you a gift", he said.

"Really?? Where is it?", you got excited, standing on the bed while clapping.

He grabbed your hand and pulled you close to him, placing his hands on your waist while looking up at you.

"What? Why are you smiling like that?", you chuckled.

He grabbed your hands again and placed them on his shoulders.

"I'm just happy to be with you", he smiled softly before carrying you on his shoulder, s shriek coming out of your mouth.

"Put me down!", you laughed as you softly hit his back repeatedly.

"Nope. We're gonna go eat. I already made breakfast", he said as he carried you out into the kitchen.

You were amazed by the food that he cooked. Everything smelled delicious and made your mouth to salivate.

"You made all of this?", you asked, sitting down.

"Yeah. Just for you. Eat", he smiled.

The entire time as you ate, he kept staring at you, chin resting on the palm of his hand as he had heart eyes. He didn't make you feel uncomfortable because that's all he does whenever you'd video chat, stare at you with a huge smile on his face. You kinda liked it.

When you finished, you got dressed and he drove you to the carnival nearby. You took pictures of each other and got on all of the rides. He would sometimes take a glance at you and admired how happy you were. The last time you guys saw each other, you were just friends. He never would have thought he'd see you more as that. He never wants to let you go.

You were now walking on the beach, barefoot so you can feel the sand. His hand was intertwined with hers while they talked about how much fun they had. Right when the sun was setting, the both of you sat down next to each other and enjoyed that moment.

"I really missed you", he said.

"Me too", you smiled at him, resting your head on his shoulder.

You were watching the sunset but he was watching you and you can feel it. Slowly turning your head, your eyes met his. You can feel the atmosphere become heavy.

"What?", you asked.

"You're beautiful", he said.

He always says that but this time it feels different. You were blushing as his hand rested on your cheek, thumb slightly caressing. His eyes glanced down at your lips, noticing you were biting them.

"Guess what?", he asked.

"What?", you asked.

"I wanna give you your birthday present. Do you want it?", he asked.

You nodded and extended your hand forward. He chuckled and told you to close your eyes which you did. You were waiting for him to put something in your hands but all you felt was his lips on yours. You quickly pulled back and placed your hand over your mouth. Of course you were shocked because that was the first time he'd ever kissed you. Realizing that, he softly grabbed your hand, moved it out of the way and got closer to you. Closing your eyes, you waited until his lips were back on yours. You heard him chuckle softly before kissing you.

Walking back to your place, you held his hand while staying quiet. Your face was flushed as you kept thinking about the kiss. Changbin wasn't sure if you were alright because you hadn't said anything. Questions kept popping up in his mind. Did you not like it? Is that not what you wanted? Are you uncomfortable?

Before entering your house, he softly piled you back and made sure you were facing him.

"Are you okay?", he asked.

"Yeah. Why?", you asked.

"Well..you're really quiet. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable", he said.

"But I'm not uncomfortable. I just...don't know how to explain it. It's a good thing though. The kiss is very different from Yongsoo. I didn't really feel anything with him. I just thought that's how a kiss is supposed to be. But with you, it feels like something more like...like when you're waiting in line to get on a roller coaster or when you're staring down at the ground from way high up-"

"So fear?", he interrupted.

"No. Excitement. I literally got goosebumps on my arms. I'm sorry if you thought you made me uncomfortable. I'm fine. I'm more than fine", you smiled, wrapping your arms around him, kissing his cheek.

"You sure?", he asked.

You rolled your eyes and gave him a quick peck on the lips before grabbing his hand to pull him forward.

Once you opened the door, your friends yelled 'surprise' while holding a happy birthday banner and some balloons.

"Oh I also forgot to mention we're throwing you a birthday party", Changbin said as he watched your surprised face.

"You guys shouldn't have done this. I mean it's really sweet. Thanks", you smiled.

You hugged everyone and enjoyed each other's company, playing games before cutting the cake. Everyone was exhausted so you told them they could sleep in the living room.

"Thanks for today Changbin. I had fun", you smiled while heading towards your room, him following behind you.

"That was the plan. Anyways, we have a lot kore to do tomorrow. So rest up. Go to sleep", he said.

You turned around to go inside your room but you stopped when you were near the doorway. Turning back around, you quickly kissed him and ran inside your room, leaving Changbin with a smirk on his face.

"I'm so lucky", he said to himself while walking away with a smile on his face.
