Hyunin: So Is He Dead or What?

Jeongin peered through the glass window of the holding facility. Watching the dazed zombie look back and forth blankly.

It's head jerking every few seconds as it shuffled mindlessly around the room, it's arms held back by a straitjacket.

A thick metal chain was attached to it's throat and connected to the cement wall to prevent it from escaping.

Jeongin studied the muzzle on it's mouth that prevented it from biting any scientists who entered.

He didn't know what was so enticing about the infected human.

The old blood staining it's white shirt wasn't exactly appealing in any way, it actually disgusted him slightly but it never deterred his interest.

He was so interested by the zombie that he didn't notice his scientist friend, Seungmin, sneaking up behind him.

"You seem quite taken with Hwang Hyunjin." He teased, causing the younger boy to jump.

"Hyunjin? That's it's name?" Jeongin asked, looking up at Seungmin and back at the miserable zombie.

Seungmin nodded and smiled, pulling out his clipboard and flipping to Hyunjin's document.

"Yes. All the zombies in this facility have names." He explained, showing Jeongin all the information they had collected so far from the tests and experiments they had conducted on Hyunjin.

Jeongin shook his head and took the clipboard, glancing over the information.

"Is it true that there's no way to turn them back?" He inquired, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Seungmin shrugged and took back the clipboard.

"Well we haven't found a cure yet, but we've come really close. I asked the head scientist and he said that developing the cure should only take between a few months and a few centuries." He offered hopefully.

Jeongin scoffed and leaned against the glass.

"That's a big range of time." He pointed out, raising an eyebrow at Seungmin.

Seungmin sighed and took out his key card.

"Well that's what he said. Anyway, do you want to watch me work with Hyunjin?" He queried, as he swiped his card and put in his password, unlocking the door.

Jeongin immediately perked up and he nodded quickly.

"Of course!"

Seungmin laughed and opened the door.

"Alright then! Follow me!" He gushed, leading Jeongin into the plain white room and closing the door behind them.

At the sudden noise, Hyunjin immediately turned and tried to run at them.

Jeongin squeaked and grabbed onto Seungmin's arm for safety, squeezing his eyes shut.

But before Hyunjin could even reach, he was yanked back by the chain around his throat. He growled viciously, his gray eyes showing no emotion as he struggled against the chain.

Seungmin chuckled and patted Jeongin's shoulder.

"It's okay Jeongin. He's secure in here." He declared, walking over to the zombie and tightening the straitjacket that kept his arms pinned back.

Jeongin let out a sigh of relief and watched as Seungmin took Hyunjin's vitals.

"So what's Hyunjin's story? Did the scientists just find him as a zombie before they took him in?" He wondered, leaning in slightly to examine Hyunjin's dead eyes and gray flesh.

Hyunjin growled and attempted to leap at Jeongin again, the chain holding him back.

Seungmin sighed and yanked the chain to hold him in place while he took samples from Hyunjin's hair and skin.

"Hyunjin's story is actually really sad." He murmured.

"You see, before he became a zombie he was actually one of the only survivors. He traveled with a group of others, but once they reached the facility they were swarmed by a group of zombies and infected. When the scientists checked outside with their cameras they discovered Hyunjin standing near the door." He recalled, patting Hyunjin's shoulder sadly.

Hyunjin growled and then let out an awful hacking sound, struggling against his restraints insistently.

Seungmin jumped slightly and retreated his hand quickly.

"Well it's time to go Jeongin." He declared, placing a hand on the younger boy's back and leading him out the door.

Once they were back in the hallway and the door had been shut, Jeongin sighed sadly.

"I hope they find the cure soon." He lamented, looking back at Hyunjin unhappily.

Seungmin nodded and handed off the samples to another scientist.

"Me too. The cure would change everything and would certainly help prevent future apocalypses." He agreed, sneaking a glance at Hyunjin who had gone back to his old mindless self, shuffling around the room and staring blankly at the wall.

After two full years of researching and experimenting, the scientists had finally come up with a cure for all of the zombies in the facility.

Seungmin immediately called Jeongin and told him about the great news.

Jeongin rushed over to the facility as fast as he could and met up with Seungmin in the lobby.

"Hey Seungmin Hyung!" He called when he saw the familiar white coat and chocolate brown hair.

Seungmin smiled and waved as Jeongin walked over to him.

"Hey Jeongin! You seem even more excited than I am!" He teased, giving him a quick hug and then leading him down the large white hallway.

Jeongin laughed and waved him off.

"No! I'm just curious to see what Hyunjin is like when he's not trying to devour human flesh!" He insisted, so eager to get to Hyunjin's room that he almost ran down the hall.

Finally, they arrived and Seungmin unlocked the door.

Jeongin rushed in first and saw Hyunjin strapped down tightly to an examination table.

His head snapped up when he saw Jeongin and he immediately began growling and coughing savagely.

Seungmin hurried in seconds later holding a needle filled with the serum.

Jeongin gestured for him to hurry up and then watched eagerly as Seungmin injected the serum into Hyunjin's neck.

Hyunjin growled and he began to spasm as life crept back into his dull eyes.

It took five minutes for Hyunjin to be cured but the results were incredible. His eyes were a soft chocolate brown and his skin was no longer an unhealthy gray color but a lively ivory.

When he spotted Seungmin and Jeongin standing over him he stared at them in confusion.

Jeongin looked over at Seungmin.

"Can I take off his mouthpiece?" He asked, practically buzzing with excitement.

Seungmin nodded and ruffled Jeongin's hair.

"Go ahead! He should be cured so I don't see why not!" He remarked, walking out of the room to dispose of the needle.

Jeongin smiled and quickly undid the binding agents of the mouthpiece.

Once he took it off, he almost swooned.

Hyunjin's lips were a healthy pink and seductively plump.

Hyunjin looked around at the plain white walls and grimaced when he looked down at his blood stained white shirt.

"Where am I?" He asked, his voice as smooth as velvet.
