Fight Club- Hybrid Au

As the sun began to set on the busy city of Seoul, Chan stepped out of his apartment and onto the sidewalk. His grey hood was pulled over his blonde curls and he toted a black backpack on his shoulders.

Chan was so busy thinking about his upcoming match that he almost didn't see the car in front of him until the driver beeped loudly.

Chan jumped and ran across the road as the driver swore at him in Korean, then drove off angrily afterwards.

When Chan had made it safely to the other sidewalk, he sighed and shook his head tiredly.

Chan continued walking down the sidewalk, past busy stores and markets until he came to a bar called, "One In A Million".

Chan smiled and walked up to the door, pushing it open and then heading over to the bar where a bartender stood cleaning a shot glass.

"Hey Jackson Hyung!"

Jackson looked up at him and grinned.

"Hey Chan! What would you like?"

Chan smiled and leaned closer to Jackson.

"Can I get a Devil's Drop Shot?" He murmured, successfully saying the password in Korean.

Jackson nodded and gestured towards the employee's only door behind him with a tilt of his head.

"Just go through the back." He said in English.

Chan grinned and nodded in reply, weaving through the crowd to walk behind the bar and then through the employee's only door.

The bar was really just a cover up to hide the hybrid boxing matches that went on late at night. Chan was a kangaroo hybrid and he was absolutely enthralled to enter the matches along with other hybrids who were supposed to be "illegal" in Korea.

Inside, there was a large boxing ring with a bunch of seats filled with hybrids surrounding it.

Chan was early, so he decided to head over to the changing room to get ready for his match.

Chan walked in and put his backpack on the floor, pulling off his grey hoodie and white t-shirt and placing them down on the bench.

Then he turned to his locker and put in the combination, pulling out two red boxing gloves and bright red shorts.

Chan put the hoodie and t-shirt into his backpack and then took off his shoes to pull off his sweatpants.

Once all of his clothes were in his backpack and locked away in his locker, Chan shut it and put on his shorts and shoes. Saving the boxing gloves for last, he put them on and revealed his kangaroo ears and large tail.

Finally, Chan left the changing room and headed out towards the boxing ring.

As he approached the lit arena, he spotted his friend Minho talking to a group of hybrids and decided to rush over to him.

When the hybrids saw Chan coming, they said goodbye to Minho and took off. Minho looked up at Chan and smirked, his cat ears and tail twitching lazily.

"Don't you ever get cold not wearing a shirt?"

Chan laughed and shook his head, his blonde curls bouncing gently.

"Nah. Since I'm part kangaroo, I don't sweat. I need to let the heat out somehow and the shirt only makes me hotter." He explained, having to raise his voice to be heard over the crowds cheering.

Minho snorted and flexed his claws. "Alright Aussie. You're up next, right?"

Chan nodded and hopped nervously, looking up at the match already happening.

A bat hybrid and a rabbit hybrid were fighting viciously, jabs and punches being thrown left and right.

Suddenly, Minho put his hand on Chan's shoulder and gave him a toothy grin.

"Don't worry Chan, you've got this match in the bag. Good luck! I'll be waiting for you at the hybrid bar afterwards!" He shouted before walking off to find the other hybrids he'd been chatting with.

Chan took a deep breath and sighed, the air near the boxing ring heavy with sweat and the metallic tang of blood.

Then the bell rang, signaling the end of the match. The bat hybrid had ended up winning. The referee, an old grey wolf hybrid gestured for Chan to step up as the rabbit hybrid walked down the stairs.

Chan nodded and hurriedly hopped up the stairs and into the ring.

The bat on the other side of the ring was small, but deadly looking. He had a slightly bloody nose and his chest glistened with sweat.

Chan gulped when the bat looked him directly in the eye and flexed his bat wings to make himself appear larger.

Then the referee stepped into the middle of the ring, a microphone in his hand.

"For this match we'll have Changbin, the bat hybrid up against Chan, the kangaroo hybrid. Whoever manages to pin the other to the floor for a count of ten will be out and in this fight, anything goes. Now, If the two opponents are ready, let the match begin!" He bellowed into the mic, stepping out of the ring directly afterwards.

Chan and Changbin circled each other wearily at first until finally Changbin made the first move, rushing forward and aiming a kick at Chan's head.

Chan blocked the kick with his boxing gloves and raised himself up on his tail, using his height as an advantage and kicking Changbin in the stomach.

Changbin winced a bit but continued to persist nonetheless, hovering off the ground and attacking Chan with sharp punches and kicks.

Chan managed to block some of them, but Changbin dealt a few harsh blows to his nose and chest.

When the bell rang for halftime, Chan and Changbin retreated to their respective corners.

Chan had a black eye and Changbin had a large bruise forming on his chest, both panted heavily and attempted to catch their breath.

After their break was over and they'd rehydrated, Changbin and Chan began to fight again.

Changbin faked Chan out and then snuck behind him, putting him in a headlock and bringing him to the ground.

The referee started to count, but only got to five when Chan pinched Changbin's thigh and punched him in the face.

Changbin groaned and fell to the ground holding his face.

Chan seized his opportunity and got on top of Changbin, pinning him to the ground as he flapped and squirmed.

The referee counted to ten and the last match of the night was over, with Chan as reining champion.

Chan and Changbin shook hands to represent good sportsmanship and then Chan dashed off to the changing room.

After changing, Chan walked over to the bar where Minho sat delicately sipping a cocktail.

"So how'd it go?" He asked, giving Chan a Cheshire cat grin.

Chan smiled and sat next to Minho, dropping his backpack on the floor.

"I won! The referee even said I get to come back next Friday to try and keep my title as reining champ!"

"That's great! Who were you up against?"

Chan hummed and his ears perked up unintentionally.

"I was up against that bat hybrid Changbin. Man is he feisty! He gave me this black eye!" He insisted, gesturing to his swollen shut left eye.

Minho winced and crossed his arms over his chest. "That looks pretty bad, but hey! At least you won! What would you like to drink to celebrate? I'll buy." He offered, wiggling his eyebrows.

Chan chuckled and shrugged, leaning on the bar's counter tiredly.

"I guess I'll have a glass of whiskey."

Then, someone pulled up a chair beside Chan and leaned forward eagerly. "Make that a glass of whiskey and a glass of red wine."

Chan perked up at the sound of the voice and looked next to him where Changbin sat.

"Oh hey Changbin! What's up?" Chan asked, blinking with his one good eye.

Changbin shrugged and his large ears swiveled as he tucked in his wings.

"Nothing much. Just getting a drink."

Chan nodded in reply and put his arms up on the counter, resting his chin on them.

"By the way, you did a great job. You deserved to win." Changbin muttered, taking a sip of red wine when the bartender brought it to him along with Chan's whiskey.

Chan looked over at him and smiled. "Thanks Changbin. I think you did amazing too! Sorry I had to snatch the victory from you."

Changbin shrugged and licked the wine from his lips. "It's alright. I'm just glad I managed to last three rounds this time. Last year I could only stay in one round before getting beaten. I've really improved." He explained, flashing his fangs at Chan happily.

Minho coughed and smacked Chan's head rudely, earning a groan and a mean look from the kangaroo.

"What do you want Minho?"

Minho gestured to a brown haired squirrel hybrid in the corner of the bar.

"That squirrel hybrid keeps making goo goo eyes at me and it's starting to creep me out. Also, don't you want to learn about the next opponent you're up against?"

Chan sighed and sat up, taking a large gulp of whiskey and setting it down to wipe the foam from his lips.

"Yeah now that you mention it, I am kind of curious. What's he like?"

"I heard that he's a fennec fox hybrid and that he's super energetic. He doesn't even need to drink water! He gets all of his water from fruits and food! He sounds pretty tough."

Chan shrugged and grabbed his backpack off the floor.

"Well we'll see next Friday. I'm going home. See you later Minho! Bye Changbin!" Chan murmured, hiding his ears and tail and then walking out of the hybrid bar and back out through the human bar onto the sidewalk.

Minho rolled his eyes and glared at the squirrel hybrid who winked and blew him a kiss.
