Chanlix: Keep Me Safe Part 1
One minute Felix was sitting quietly playing with some of the animals in heaven when suddenly God ordered him to go down to Earth.
Felix did as he was told and flew down as quick as his wings would allow him, gently fluttering down and landing on the sidewalk outside of the bright white hospital.
Felix looked up at the hospital curiously while folding his wings, using his jacket to keep them hidden. Then he strolled casually inside, going up to the front desk where a tired man sat.
"Excuse me sir, but which floor is room 203 located on?" He asked, giving the man a kind smile. The man slowly looked up at him.
"Room 203 is on the first floor." He grumbled, looking back at his computer. Felix bowed politely.
"Thank you very much." He murmured warmly, walking past the man to go find the room. The man rolled his eyes and was about to go back to filling out some online forms when he realized his mistake.
"Wait!" He yelled, turning back to where Felix was supposed to be. However, the man was stunned to discover that Felix had completely disappeared from sight.
Felix laughed quietly at the baffled man and then unfolded his wings, his whole body invisible to the human eye.
Then he walked straight to room 203, passing through the door and standing next to the woman who had just given birth holding her baby. Felix leaned over to look at the crying baby laying in it's mother's arms.
"This is the one I have to watch over?" He asked God, looking up at the clouds.
"Yes. You will be his guardian angel." God responded. Felix glanced down at the baby in awe and then back up at the clouds.
"I will watch over him with all my heart! Thank you God for giving me this task." He exclaimed gratefully. God chuckled.
"Good luck to you Felix." He murmured, looking down at the excited angel.
Four years later, Felix sat on the grass in front of Chris's house. Watching as the small boy did somersaults, giggling happily when his dog, Berry, jumped on him. Covering him with sloppy puppy kisses. Felix chuckled and laid down on his stomach, breathing in the fresh air.
At that moment, Chris finally managed to push Berry off and that was when he saw Felix for the first time. He began to walk over to him and Felix sat up quickly, fully alert. Chris tilted his head and held out his hand.
"Hi! I'm Chris! What's your name?" He gushed, squatting down to look into Felix's beautiful dark brown eyes. Felix smiled and reached out to shake Chris's hand.
"My name's Felix." He replied, stretching out his wings to full length.
Chris's eyes widened and he walked over to one of Felix's wings and looked at it with amazement.
"I like your wings! Can I touch them?" He inquired sweetly. Felix nodded.
"Of course you can." He declared, lowering his wings so Chris could reach them.
Chris smiled and gently stroked Felix's wings, rubbing each individual cream white feather with tenderness.
Felix sighed happily at the boys soft touch and his wings relaxed, accidentally knocking Chris over and covering his small body.
Felix gasped and lifted his wing up to spot the slightly dazed boy on his back.
"Sorry Chris! Are you okay?" He babbled, crawling over to him. Chris giggled and crawled underneath Felix's wings.
"Your wings make a great hiding spot!" He blurted, snuggling against Felix's side. Felix let out a sigh of relief and ruffled Chris's hair.
"They do." He agreed, gazing sweetly at him.
Just then, Chris's mother walked outside. "Chris! It's time to come inside!" She called, crossing her arms over her chest. Chris perked up and scurried out from under Felix's wing.
"I'll see you later Felix!" He shouted, waving at the angel and running up to his mother. His mother smiled and ruffled his hair.
"Who's Felix?" She asked sweetly. Chris smiled up at her.
"He's my friend! He's right over there!" He beamed, pointing over to where Felix lay. She squinted and then nodded.
"I see him! Anyway, you need a shower. Come on sweetie!" She chuckled, picking up the small boy and carrying him inside.

Six years later, Chris had moved from Australia to South Korea and was currently entering the fifth grade.
His name was changed from Chris to Chan to make it easier for the locals. Now that he was older he could no longer see Felix, but he always knew someone was watching over him.
The first day of school, Felix was worried that Chan wouldn't be able to make friends and so he followed him around.
It turned out to be quite the opposite.
Chan was outgoing and made many friends immediately. They thought his accent was unique and the fact that he grew up in Australia excited them.
At lunchtime, almost everyone sat at Chan's table, eager to hear stories about Australia.
Chan of course would tell them and he made sure to tell them the story of Felix. Saying that one day he would fly back to Australia to see him again.
Felix smiled upon hearing this and gazed down at him lovingly, hoping he would remain young and innocent for a long time.
However, when Chan entered high school, all of the innocence melted away.
