Changlix: Solar Eclipse
The sun yawned and slowly began to descend from the sky, unaware that the moon watched him from the other corner of the sky secretly.
The sun was named Felix. He had bright blonde hair, freckles, and a shining white toga cinched at the waist.
Felix's job was to shine light down on the creatures of Earth and provide them with warmth. Every morning his smile was what woke up the world.
The moon who watched Felix secretly, was named Changbin. He had short black hair, pale skin, and a midnight black toga that flowed beyond his legs and dragged behind him whenever he walked.
Changbin was in charge of the stars and the night sky, as well as the creatures who found peace and solace in his darkness.
When Felix and Changbin were younger, Changbin envied that Felix got all of the attention from the creatures on Earth.
But as the years went on Changbin gained a following of his own and stopped caring about whose job was more popular.
Now he only watched Felix shyly from the edge of the sky, longing to steal a kiss from the sun who always teased him with his smiling eyes and bright face.
Since Felix had long since descended and disappeared behind the hills, Changbin began to walk tentatively out into the sky and watched as his toga turned whatever light remained into inky darkness.
Then a few more hours went by and Changbin began to cry as he curled up amongst the midnight sky to create the moon.
Each tear that made its way down his cheek was then gently picked up and placed amongst the sky to create the stars for that night.
In a way Changbin was still jealous of Felix for being happy all of the time. But for some reason, he felt a certain closeness and connection to him.
Probably because happiness was the one thing that he wasn't allowed to have.
Changbin decided that that would all change once the sun came up again, he would take happiness for himself no matter the cost.
After Changbin finished crying he waited a few more hours until he saw Felix's head of blonde hair pop up from behind the hills. Then he picked up the length of his toga and quickly retreated to his secret corner of the sky.
The sun slowly rose up from behind the hills and with a small chuckle he pulled out a few clouds and used them to decorate the empty sky.
"What a beautiful day! I hope all of the creatures will wake up and enjoy the puffy clouds I put out for them!" He babbled happily to himself.
Changbin's cheeks flushed pink and he rolled his eyes while draping the length of his toga over his head to create a makeshift hood.
When Changbin finally deemed himself ready, he took a deep breath and darted across the sky towards Felix.
Felix didn't hear Changbin approaching so he was completely caught off guard when someone grabbed the front of his toga, covered his eyes, and pressed their lips fiercely against his.
Even though Felix couldn't see he slowly lifted his hand to the other person's cheek and deepened the kiss. The person was taken slightly aback but continued kissing him, gently taking their tongue and using it to explore Felix's mouth.
Felix tenderly stroked the person's cheek and tried to pinpoint just what he was tasting. The other person's mouth felt cold and desolate but it had a sweet taste that made Felix's head spin with longing.
Changbin on the other hand, was drawn in for the exact opposite reasons.
Felix's mouth was warm and inviting but so hot that Changbin was beginning to lose his grip on reality.
They stayed like that for a few more minutes until Changbin finally snapped out of his trance and dashed away from Felix as fast as he could.
Even though Felix was still dazed from the passionate kiss he opened his eyes and caught sight of Changbin's midnight black toga being dragged across the sky before disappearing, much to his disappointment.
Felix knew he couldn't chase after Changbin right away and so he decided to end the day early, slowly descending from the sky and eagerly awaiting Changbin's appearance.
From Changbin's secret hiding place in the sky he noticed the sun going down and his heart beat faster.
"There's no way I'm going out there. He's going to want to talk to me! I'm not ready for that." He mumbled to himself as his toga began stretching across the sky all by itself.
Once his toga had covered the whole sky, Changbin heard Felix slowly sneak out from behind the hills.
"Changbin!" He whisper shouted as he crept around. "I need to talk to you! Can you come out please?"
Changbin quickly used his toga to cover himself as Felix came closer.
"No. I'm not in the mood to talk. Please go away."
Felix pouted and ran a hand through his blond locks, the look on his face reminding Changbin of a sad puppy.
"Alright well, how about we talk tomorrow? You don't even have to come out. I just want to speak to you." He murmured softly before turning and heading across the sky once again to his place behind the hills.
Changbin sighed and curled up in his toga as tears dripped down his cheeks, his body shook with sobs as the tears filled the sky all by themselves.
That night, the creatures on Earth noticed the sky was completely covered in stars of all shapes and sizes.
Felix woke up the next morning and fulfilled his duties, this time decorating the sky with even more clouds just so he could have some privacy from the Earth.
But as Felix sat amongst the puffy clouds he found himself staring off at the other side of the sky, wondering how Changbin was and if he really would end up coming out that night.
Eventually, the day passed by and Felix lowered himself behind the hills.
Changbin sighed and watched the sun slowly set. His cheeks were tear-stained and he didn't look his best, but that wasn't any excuse to ignore Felix.
After all, the way Felix had spoken so gently to him made his heart pang with guilt and he longed to get the conversation over as quickly as possible.
So Changbin got up and walked into the middle of the sky, watching as the darkness spread and choked out every sliver of light in its path.
A few minutes later, Felix snuck out from behind the hills and tiptoed over to the middle of the sky while looking left and right warily.
When he caught sight of Changbin his eyes lit up and a huge smile grew on his face.
"Changbin! You came!" Felix blurted before running over to him and hugging him gently.
Changbin's pale cheeks flushed pink and he squirmed uncomfortably until Felix pulled away.
"I only came out to get this over with," He murmured as he looked down at the Earth.
"I'm sorry for kissing you. It was a huge mistake and I never should've done it."
Felix tilted his head and gently placed a hand on Changbin's shoulder.
"Why do you think you shouldn't have done it?"
Changbin bit his lip and his eyes began to fill with tears.
"I only did it to feel happy. I've lived my whole life in darkness and at night I cry to create the stars. Just once, I wanted to feel as happy as you Felix. You emanate happiness and joy. I bring about sadness and desolation." He explained as tears fell from his eyes and turned into stars at his feet.
Felix's eyes widened and he felt tears begin to form in his own eyes upon hearing Changbin's story.
"I'm sorry that you have to feel this way. That sounds like an insufferable amount of pressure to be put on your shoulders as the moon. I just want you to know that I think your night is beautiful."
Changbin wiped away a tear on his cheek and looked over at Felix in disbelief.
"You really think it's beautiful?"
Felix nodded and grabbed both of Changbin's hands as a tear fell down his cheek.
"It's absolutely magnificent. Sometimes before I go to sleep behind the hills, I secretly watch you create the night." He admitted with a sheepish smile on his face.
Changbin's cheeks flushed bright red and he felt his heart beat speed up.
"Really!? Well I guess we have that in common, I always watch you during the day."
Felix smiled and for a minute it looked like he was glowing with happiness.
"Well I appreciate that and I want you to know, that I'll always be here for you when you feel upset. I don't want you to have to go through that alone. Do you promise to come visit me when you feel sad?"
Changbin smiled and looked up at Felix, his eyes full of stars and galaxies yet to be discovered.
"I promise. So does this mean we're dating now?" He joked with a bright smile on his face.
Felix chuckled and ruffled his blonde locks before pulling Changbin closer.
"I mean, only if you want to."
Changbin's eyes widened but then he smirked and kissed Felix boldly on the lips.
Felix was slightly shocked but he kissed back and gently trailed his fingers through Changbin's dark hair.
Changbin wrapped his arms around Felix's back and then dipped him back until they both lay down on the midnight sky.
They continued to kiss until Changbin broke away panting, a satisfied smirk on his face as he sat up and straddled Felix's waist.
"Yes. I definitely want to date you. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a job to do" He murmured, leaning down and kissing Felix one last time before heading back to the middle of the sky to create the moon for that night.
Felix smiled and sat up, his hair disheveled and his cheeks stained pink.
"Alright. See you in the morning my moon and stars." He replied before getting up and heading back to his place behind the hills.
