"I really don't know what you are talking about Namjoon but I guarantee, it wasn't us who killed that Gifted."
Namjoon sighed, the frantic voice of Seokjin reaching his ears.
The male knew that Quadrant wasn't lying but it really was quite astonishing. Even if it was a fake, you couldn't really call it a "poor" copy of the Alley Murders. It was executed in the exact same manner, following all the intricate details. The only thing that gave away was the killing of the "Gifted".
No mafia of the city are supposed to kill them. That is one of the rules. The Gifted can only be made to work under the mafia or refrained from using their powers.
"Don't remember blaming you, Jin." Namjoon mumbled, leaning against the wall of the meeting room.
In all honesty, the meeting room had the worse possible lighting.
Molten candles hung from the ceiling, some peeking from their rusted candles, making the room way warmer during summers. Then there were the tatami mats with their bright shades of red, pink and green. They were ugly nevertheless. Everything about this building was ugly.
"The goddamn cops have been ringing all day. Bloody scams. All they do is lounge in their airy offices and then have the audacity to act all high and mighty." The other spat, the distant sound of traffic could be heard.
"Well, good for them. They don't have to deal with this mess. A number of people have gone missing from the neutral zone."
Namjoon stripped open his blazer, throwing it on the glass table, popping open the top few buttons of his shirt. The darkness accentuating his sharp features made him seem more somber than usual.
"Heard. Yoongi reported. Said he met your precious Taehyung too." Seokjin said, a light laugh behind his words.
"Stop with that already." Namjoon gritted out, lips curled in annoyance.
The male on the other side snickered, making the ravenette even more pissed.
"Nevermind. That kid isn't going to use his power anyways." The older chuckled, "The strongest of all, eh?"
Namjoon opened his mouth to say something snarky but Seokjin cut him off.
"We have Jeongguk now. And in case you couldn't figure out who was the behind the Alley Murders, it was him. Our new killing machine."
The ravenette rolled his eyes.
The line beeped, signaling the end of the call.

The traffic was immense in Kaesong today, hence Jennie preferred walking. The weather was pleasant, the sun momentarily hidden behind the clouds, shadows stretching on the pavement. School children on their way followed by the usual office goers.
It was all very nice except for the simple meat shop which was a facade for the headquarters of Quadrant behind.
Jennie walked passed the empty foodery before slipping inside a thin alley supported by two buildings.
"Oh! There you are."
Jennie glanced up at the pale man before him, leaning against the wall, that smirk on his face.
"I don't have forever, Yoongi. Spit it out."
Yoongi laughed, the sound bouncing off the walls of the backstreet.
"Quit laughing for no reason." Jennie said, crossing her arms, feet tapping impatiently on the littered asphalt.
"I met your brother the other day."
"Figured." Jennie mumbled, rolling her eyes.
"Had a nice chat." he shrugged, smirking.
"Oh? that's great. I didn't know invading people's privacy and downright insulting them was a part of chatting, Yoongi."
The smile was wiped off the male's face as he stared blankly at Jennie, gaze dead and penetrating.
At that moment, Jennie wanted nothing more than to leave the place and return to the safety of her headquarters. She knew Yoongi won't cause her harm but right now his look screamed otherwise.
"Then why don't you ask your fucking brother to act like who he's supposed to be."
Jennie froze. Not only because she could feel the intense honesty and anger behind those words but also Yoongi's eyes shone with similar but stronger feelings.
"Hiding behind the excuse of his dark past and fear won't ever help him grow. You should know that more than anyone else, Jennie."
The female clenched her fists, eyes narrowed to the ground.
"If I spoke to him, he will dismiss whatever I say-" Yoongi continued.
"You're wrong. Taehyung isn't a coward and secondly, the only person he actually listen's to is you and Namjoon." she retorted, eyes locking with the male's.
Jennie might be mistaken but she noticed Yoongi's eyes soften a tad bit before returning back to its hollow state.
The rushing of leaves followed, the duo remained silent and Jennie bit her lip.
The male looked up, his expression was devoid of any emotion but Jennie could read him well.
There was, as she expected, sadness in his eyes. And yet again, Jennie really wanted to leave the place. Coming here itself was something she shouldn't have done.
"You know that I care about Taehyung a lot right? And I really don't want to see him this way." Yoongi stepped back, shuffling his hands inside the thin jacket pockets, "The rest is up to you now. Goodbye."
Take care of Taehyung for me and try to visit me everyday 'kay? It was my fault after all if only I was more responsible you didn't have to end up this way-
Jennie shook herself out of the thoughts as she watched the dark haired male disappear amidst the shadows, certain words left unsaid.
