It was lunch break, whilst the children went to the playground Taehyung was at the café waiting for his friend; Kim Namjoon. Namjoon was a university professor and the two decided to meet up after not seeing each other in a while. “I’m sorry I’m late one of my students was having a bit of problem.” He placed down his briefcase and jacket on one of the chairs before sitting on the one beside it. Taehyung waved it off saying it was no problem sipping on the iced tea he had ordered while waiting.

The two ate in silence until Namjoon cleared his throat to get Taehyungs attention. “I know your answer, but the university is very persistent, they’re offering you a job as head professor for the art department.” Taehyung looked down, placing the utensils down so they hit the plate. “My answer is still no, Joon. I like being a nursery teacher and the children I work with are amazing.” Googie being the first child that came to his mind. “Okay, I was just told to inform you, by your professors and parents.” He mumbled the last word, but Tae had heard making his roll his eyes at his parents antics.

“Joon seriously is my job that awful, why don’t they understand I like what I do?” he ranted Namjoon listening to what his friend had to say.   Namjoon was a close friend, he had grown up with Taehyung and his older brother knowing what went on their family. He knew how disappointed Taehyungs parents had been when Tae announced he was going to be a Nursery teacher not only that, but the feeling of despair Tae had felt when his parents weren’t accepting. So, for the past three to four years Taehyung worked the job he liked without the support of his parents.

Meanwhile, Hyejoo sat in the meeting which had dragged on an extra hour, no one could come to one firm decision. “Anyone? Anything? Seriously what are your degrees for?” Daehyun complained at the lack of unique ideas, as he rolled up his sleeves in agitation. Since no one answered Hyejoo decided to speak up, “What if we had an open event at schools so they can taste and decide which are more popular, then partner up with schools to sell these lunches there as well?” Hyejoo suggested everyone looking at her in amazement why hadn’t they thought of that. Daehyun clapped at her idea, he knew she had potential.

“So, If we find some schools with varied ages and talk to the food providers if they like this idea we will go forward.” Daehyun explained giving them all tasks before finalising the plan. Hyejoo stayed back in the meeting room writing up the minutes of the meeting before handing it to Daehyuns assistant. Hyejoo ran to Minho in excitement informing him how one of her ideas had gone forward, the latter congratulating her and promised to treat her.

Hyejoo had just started her lunch break and decided to grab some food from the café nearby. She had ordered her lunch as well as some extra coffees for her co workers and set off to pick it up with her supervisor Aria, since Minho was busy. The two made fun of their boss who thought assigning jobs was just as easy as doing them; Daehyun was clearly not very popular.

Her supervisor went on about how stressful it was to wedding plan as well as take part in a new project. Hyejoo offering her help if she needed it to which her supervisor laughed wishing her fiancé would say the same. The entire office team had been invited; it was going to be a grand wedding. “So I’m not sure If I should have lilies or white roses?” Aria asked. As Hyejoo was about to answer her shoulder hit with someone else’s and she turned around to say sorry just as he did.

“I’m sorry, wait Mr Kim is that you?” Hyejoo’s soft voice spoke causing Taehyung to look up and smile, the other Mr Kim watching his friends mood change faster than British weather. “you know you can call me Taehyung right” he laughed making Hyejoo a little flustered. Taehyung continued to talk about how the cake had turned out well making Namjoon raise his eyebrows at why she was at his home. As Hyejoo was about to speak Aria interrupted, “Joo come on if we get going, we can all finish at 3.” “Well then Taehyung I’ll get going, me and Googie are planning to meet Aunt Minnie today so I’ll have to leave on time.” She let out a small chuckle before leaving.

“Bye…Joo huh?” he muttered to himself to see Namjoon looking at him with a teasing smile. “No Joon, she is just the parent of one of my students who I sometimes babysit.” Taehyung replied rather fast. “Sure, that’s all Tae because I don’t know if you can tell but your mood went from 0 to a 100 real quick and well your ears are kind of red.”  He laughed as Tae quickly pulled out his phone to see his ears. Taehyung fell back into his seat to deeply explain that he didn’t like his students mother. Namjoon just ending the conversation at “okay dude you know your feelings.”

Hyejoo was in a similar situation as Aria wouldn’t stop talking about the handsome man from the café. “Go for it gurl, or I will.” She teased. “Your engaged.” Hyejoo reminded to which she received the reply, “Engaged but not married.” Aria then left her at the door walking into the office to talk about Hyejoo’s handsome friend with Minho. Hyejoo dragging her feet towards the two attempting to make them stop by pulling Aria away.

After that conversation with Joon, Taehyung had tried to persuade himself what the latter had said wasn’t true. ‘I mean we are both shy that’s all’ Taehyung lied to himself or partially did because Hyejoo was genuinely a shy person, Googie must have received his outgoing side from his father. Still arguing with his thoughts, he saw Hyejoo walk in helping Googie get his things. Googie being the persistent child he was, dragged his mother to Mr Kim to say goodbye when Hyejoo wanted to avoid him due to the conversation with Aria and Minho.

“Mr Kim Mr Kim, we going to see Nana Minnie today.” The excitement evident in his voice as he looked up at Taehyung. “really! Well tell her I said hello, how is she anyway?” he asked Hyejoo halfway. “She is getting better; she wants to meet you again actually.” Hyejoo played with her hair and Taehyung shook off the thought of how adorably shy she was. “Well I am free today” he spoke to himself thinking of his timetable, Googie hearing this had a lightbulb flash above his head.

He turned around to look at his mother who wearily looked back since Googie was using his puppy dog eyes…again. “What is it now bun?” waiting for her son to make his request. Holding onto his mothers hand with an innocent smile, “Can Mr Kim come with us please!” he stretched out the last word as he pulled onto his mothers arm. “I mean If he wants to he can, just ask him sweetie.” She spoke unable to say no to her son, mentally regretting it in her head, while Taehyung was over the moon, she didn’t find him annoying.

That’s how Hyejoo sat at the back of his car with Googie on the way to the hospital. She sat in silence playing with her fingers as the sound of soft jazz filled the car. Hyejoo infact loved soft jazz music since she had seen an old classical movie, she had always wanted to dance with her lover to it but the only man she had been with said it was music for the old. A smile appeared on her lips at how cliché she had wanted her romantic life to be not receiving even half of her wishes, but she didn’t care because she had Googie and that was all she needed.

The three arrived at the hospital after a quick stop at the store so Hyejoo could get a few things for Aunt Minnie as well as some flowers to brighten up her hospital room. Taehyung held onto Googies hand as Hyejoo lead them to Aunt Minnie’s room, the younger couldn’t stop babbling on about random things.

Hyejoo knocked on the door once before pushing open the door to see Minnie frowning on her bed, head facing the clock. “Your late, oh but you bought the handsome Taehyung again, your forgiven.” She clapped her hands in happiness while Hyejoo scoffed as she placed the flowers in the vase. Taehyung who bowed with his red cheeks, shy from the compliment despite hearing it multiple times.

Hyejoo and Tae sat on the chairs while Googie and snuggled his way into Minnie’s arms. “So, Taehyung how is it managing this little devil.” Minnie asked to which Hyejoo and Googie gasped. Hyejoo’s response being, “My son is no devil.” Taehyung backing her up in this statement.  Hyejoo and Minnie continued with their little banter, Taehyung laughing at their relationship being just like a mother and daughter. “Well I’m going to go get some coffee, would you like some?” Taehyung asked, to which Hyejoo replied with a nod before continuing to organise some of Minnie’s things. “Why thankyou dear, I’d like a latte and muffin please?” Aunt Minnie spoke only to be cut off Hyejoo. “The doctor said no Minnie.” Gesturing Taehyung to leave quickly.

“You know you two would make beautiful kids, Googie could do with another sibling right Googie?” Minnie spoke while Taehyung was absent making Hyejoo’s face redden. “No Mamabun is only mine!” he exclaimed running into his mothers arms wrapping his arms protectively around her.

Minnie frowned at her dream of Hyejoo having another child preferably with Taehyung went down the drain while Hyejoo reassured her son she was only his, wrapping her arms around his small body kissing his head. Taehyung entered the room handing everyone their coffee making Googie wrap his arms around his mother even tighter, so she struggled to get her coffee leaving Taehyung confused at his behaviour.
