Googie just like any other day helped Taehyung clean up the classroom so they could leave faster. Today Taehyung had promised to take Googie to the arcade since he had never been and Googie was ever so excited. He had talked about it all morning as well as phoned Jimin just to inform him. As Taehyung filled his brown satchel, Googie sipped on his water bottle as he had ran around to help clean faster than his little legs could carry him. “Mamabun?” Googies voice spoke in the silence making Taehyung look up she wasn’t supposed to come today.
Hyejoo on the other hand clutched her waist with one hand the other hand holding the doorframe for support. A few beads of sweat on her forehead, she had clearly ran here. Yet she smiled at her son, who looked between Taehyung and her. “Mamabun, what are you doing here?” Googie questioned his mother, making his mother smile. “I finished early why you don’t want me here?” she faked a sad face making Googie panic shaking his head frantically. “It’s not that, it’s just Mr Kim Taetae promised to take me to the arcade remember.” He pouted at the thought of not being able to go. Hyejoo’s mouth formed a ‘Oh’ remembering how her son had mentioned it several times, “Well you can still go.”
“I know, now you can come too.” He exclaimed running to his mother and dragging her out the building, while Taehyung followed behind. Hyejoo not able to reply or drag her feet any faster held her waist as she was pulled along. Its not that Hyejoo didn’t want to come but she couldn’t help but blush at the thought of Taehyung. He was great with kids, friendly and caring and to top it off like a cherry on the cake it looked like God had given him every atom of handsome to ever exist in his making .
Googie ran as fast as he could, soft giggles leaving his mouth similar to Tae’s who laughed at the two from behind. As they got in the car Hyejoo made the request of wanting to pop home and change clothes, Googie letting out a dramatic sigh. That was until Hyejoo told him he could show Taehyung his room, which he never even slept in. “Taetae I can show you my Thor hammer.” And the list went on.
As Taehyung held onto Googies hand who followed his mother speaking excitedly about showing him his room he managed to capture the attention of some other residents of the building. Some gossiping over the handsome who was going to Hyejoo’s apartment. As Taehyung was about to take off his shoes, Hyejoo yelled out ‘wait’ slightly louder than she intended to, followed by an awkward laugh due to her embarrassed state.
“I got these matching slippers as a gift and well they don’t fit Jimin.” She spoke taking out a pare of grey fluffy slippers from the cupboard which happened to match the ones she was wearing at the moment. The only thought was who is this Jimin, he had heard of him multiple times from Googie, but he never thought he was that close; also, why did he have small feet. [I swear this is just for the plot, I know Jimin aint that small ;) ]
“Make yourself at home, excuse the mess.” Hyejoo spoke as she went to the kitchen to make him tea, his preferred choice over coffee. The mess she mentioned included a few toys which hadn’t been put away and Googies blanket which was laying around instead of draped off the edge of one of the armchairs. Taehyung admired the light academia themed living room which was very neat compared to the fact she had a four-year-old, until Googie shouted for him to hurry. He saw Googies small head poke out his door down the hall to show him which room it was, before running in again.
Hyejoo walked into Googies room handing Taehyung his tea who sat on Googies bed as instructed by the little one. The little one showing him a few toys with little descriptions. Hyejoo shook her head at him taking out some clothes for him to change into. As she was going to help him, Taehyung offered to help so she could get ready herself.
Taehyungs eyes were caught onto the frame on Googies bedside table which included him and his mother in matching onesies when he was probably around the age of two, Googie being smaller and chubbier then he was now, wide smile on his face to match his mothers who cuddled the small one in her embrace. Hyejoo on the other hand looked very different, her hair was shorter tied up into a messy bun, no bangs to frame her face just a few locks which happened to fall to the side of her face which was not as defined as it was now.
Taehyung awed at the adorable outfit picked out for Googie, a plaid shirt with a pair of black jeans, a fluffy beige sweater to top it off. The three ended up coordinating, Hyejoo who liked to match her outfit with Googie wore a plaid dress above a white jumper long suede boots which went up to her knee, her hair let down pushed to the back, different from her usual tied up hair. Taehyung’s outfit which was similar to Googies but instead of a plaid shirt he had a white one topped with a plaid jacket. Hyejoo looked beautiful and Taehyung couldn’t help but smile at her; Hyejoo turning around blushing as she closed the door mouthing a ‘wow’ to no one really at the fact that Taehyungs smile was too damn adorable.

The lights of the multiple games which filled up the first half of the arcade twinkled in Googies orbs. “Mamabun, lookie.” He tugged onto his mother’s arm exclaiming at the sight he saw, Hyejoo nodding along to his words. The smell of cheap made margherita pizza from the café brought back memories; when she would join Googies fathers outing with his friends watching him play games cause that’s what all the other girlfriends did. “I’ll go get some coins; you can go find a game.” Taehyung pointed to the desk, Hyejoo getting out her purse. Taehyung who was quick to notice showed Googie a cool game making him drag his mother away before she could hand him some cash.
Googie stood patiently behind the person who was in front of him playing with the car game. His smile faded as the boy placed another coin for another round making Hyejoo giggle. Taehyung appeared handing Hyejoo one bag of coins. As the boy left Googie practically jumped into the seat only to see his feet didn’t reach the floor. Taehyung scooped Googie onto his lap, telling Googie to steer as he did the footwork. Hyejoo placed in the coin and cheered Googie on. “I won! I won.” Googie danced his happy dance which included his arms swinging in the air as he wiggled his bum slightly; something he had learnt form his mother.
Taehyung helped Googie play different games, mainly because some weren’t reachable due to his small height. Hyejoo watched taking pictures of her son whose smile didn’t fade. He was having the time of his life and Hyejoo finally felt like he had someone like a father figure. Jimin was like one however due to his occupation he wasn’t always there, he instead was the cool fun uncle every child needed.
As Hyejoo excused herself to get some drinks, wanting to keep her son hydrated mainly because he had ran around a lot today, Googie tugged onto Taehyungs hand. Taehyung looked at the little one who pointed to a claw machine, “I want to win Mama something.” Taehyung lifted Googie so he could point on which plushie he would win his mama. Wanting Googie to have experiences in these small things he allowed him to have three goes. After the third attempt Googie was frustrated and so he hit the machine saying it was cheating. Taehyung in the end one a little blue octopus plushie, which had pink circles to represent blushing.
Hyejoo came back one orange juice and one Pepsi can for Taehyung. She handed them both the drinks to see Googie struggling to hide something behind his back. As Hyejoo tried to look behind him he told her to close her eyes and hold out her hand. She did as told trying to peek a little only to be scolded by the little one, a small snicker leaving Taehyungs mouth. When she opened her eyes to see one of the cutest plushies in her hand, she picked up her son covering his face in kisses. Googie giggled saying how Taehyung had only helped him ‘a little’ so she mouthed a thankyou to him.
Googie chose the ball hoops game as the last game before they would move to the bowling area. “Mama you play against me and Taetae.” Not taking a no for an answer Hyejoo did as her child wished. Hyejoo struggled to make points while Taehyung and Googie were way ahead. Taehyung lifted Googie moving him around so he could make the shot. Hyejoo had gone to the extent of tying her hair up in the rematch due to her competitive side something Googie had clearly inherited. “Ha-ha we won.” Googie did his happy dance sticking out his tongue to his mother, Taehyung copying making Hyejoo scoff saying it wasn’t a fair game since It was 2v1. Taehyung calling her a sore loser making her fake a gasp to act as though she was offended and in denial.
Hyejoo ended up being comfortable with Taehyung, the two sharing occasional jokes on who was a better player when they got a strike. They would help Googie, by carrying the ball for him, Googie just pushing it off the ramp. Taehyung finding it a little warm took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves, Googie mirroring his actions because he was a ‘man’ too. In the end Taehyung had won but they had told Googie he had, making him flick his head and walk in a cocky manner; Hyejoo wishing he hadn’t learnt that from Jimin. The two couldn’t help but contain their laughter as they made eye contact and they followed behind Googie stifling their laughs.
Googie held the door open for Hyejoo not realising Taehyung was pulling the heavy glass door from above. Hyejoo thanked them both before informing the waiter how many people she needed a table for. The three sat in silence Googie occasionally asking Hyejoo to read out certain things for her.
A waitress came over ready to take their order unbothered until she saw the snack in front of her; the only good thing coming from her part time job as a university student. The blonde cleared her throat making Taehyung and Hyejoo look up, Googie still deciding what he wanted. Hyejoo creased her eyes in thought wondering if she had saw correctly; the blondie had rolled her eyes at her turning her head to face Taehyung.
“What can I get you handsome?” her voice so sickeningly sweet making Taehyung and Hyejoo cringe, Hyejoo reminded of how girls would act during her high school years. She leaned over so her face was in front of Taehyungs slightly. Her flirting or attempted flirting was put to an end when an unexpected voice spoke. “I would like the Pollo pasta please.” Googie spoke making the waitress turn red in embarrassment Hyejoo stifling her laughter only to have a chuckle escape Taehyungs mouth. He coughed it off telling her his order,” Ill have the same as handsome.” He gave her an innocent smile while Hyejoo gave her order attempting not to burst out on a fit of laughter.
“Your evil and you know it, do you know how hard it was not to laugh.” Hyejoo ranted. “I have no idea what your talking about.” He innocently sipped his water, Googie looking between the two in confusion about what was so funny. The waitress never returned to serve them making the two let out an evil laughs making Googie looking slightly disturbed.
