“Mama, do you think I will look good in the uniform?” Googie asked his mother the third time this morning as he poked the strawberry which had fallen off his pancake. He swung his legs under his chair waiting for his mothers reply. “Yes Googie, hurry up or we will be late.” She reminded her son who was now scoffing down his food. His cheeks were filled with pancakes as he jumped off his chair and ran to his bedroom to start getting ready.

Hyejoo picked up the plate Googie had used washing them, wiping the table and ran to Googies room to help him. Her son had just finished fastening his shirt, grabbing his neatly ironed jumper and throwing it on. He struggled to push his head through the small hole and Hyejoo ran to help him stifling her laughter, but he had heard her. “Mama! Its not funny.” She could imagine him pouting and her assumptions were correct as when she pulled the jumper down her son looked at her with pouted lips. He handed her his brush so she could neatly comb his hair and he would be ready for school.

“Wow my bun is all grown up.” She smiled at her son a little teary eyed seeing him in his first ever uniform. He gave her a toothy grin posing her for her in different ways such as cupping his face, Taehyungs iconic ‘V sign and a kissy face Jimin had taught him. She shook her head to get ready before Taehyung came to get them knowing he would want to get their early especially on the first day of school. Hyejoo was right seeing Taehyung had arrived 10 minutes earlier than said but she was ready. As she locked the door Taehyung complimented Googies uniform saying how much the boy had grown, before they started whispering about something followed by some laughter.

The car ride was mainly silent, Googie checking his bag once again to make sure he had everything. “Taetae why can’t you be my teacher.” Googie sighed looking out the window to be dramatic. “Googie everyone gets a new teacher, and you will still see me around school if not at home, and Mrs Lee is a very nice teacher.” Taehyung consoled the child Hyejoo giving a small smile. “Fine.” The boy frowned planning to run to Taehyungs classroom if he didn’t like Mrs Lee.

Just like always Taehyung dropped Hyejoo off to work first, Hyejoo blowing a kiss to them both wishing both a good day. Taehyung then drove off asking Googie if he would like to help set up the classroom for the new children, the younger one mumbling a small yes not showing his excitement.

He followed behind Taehyung to the familiar classroom which had been cleaned early in the morning for the children. Taehyung putting away his bag and leading Googie to the closet which had different supplies in. He handed Googie some crayons to place on each table making the little one remember his first day, the classroom had been so colourful and welcoming making him more excited than he had ever been. When he saw the crayons on the table, he couldn’t wait to start the day and draw a picture for his mother.

He smiled to himself hoping other children would make memories just like him and hoped they would appreciate that they would be having the best teacher ever. When the classroom was ready Taehyung took Googie to his classroom so he would be in time for his new students. He smiled at his co-worker explaining why Googie was so early, helping the boy with his bag and coat before saying goodbye.

“Taetae! You were right Mrs Lee is very nice.” The younger shouted as he walked into the elders classroom. Some children looking his way, but he didn’t mind and walked to Taehyungs desk sitting on his chair after he struggled to climb on. When Taehyung had bid farewell to all parents, he turned to give Googie his full attention. He allowed Googie to tell him about his day as he cleaned the classroom before they left. “Mrs Lee gave me biscuits since I was very early, and she is very fun and kind.” The younger informed Taehyung who already knew how kind Mrs Lee was hearing it from many of his former students.

Hyejoo was finishing late this evening so Taehyung took Googie to his house for a few hours before he would pick Hyejoo up and take them both home. Googie ran to his former bedroom changing out of his uniform into some clothes he had left behind for days like this. When he ran back to the living room, he saw Taehyung hold up a dvd which read ‘peter pan’ the movie the elder had mentioned on the way home. Googie jumped onto the sofa grabbing the blanket and covering himself and Taehyung with it.

Halfway through the movie Taehyung heard Googie mumble to himself, he looked down to see the child lost in thought not even paying attention to the movie. Googie sighed at his thoughts as he tapped his fingers against his thigh in anticipation. Clearly the boy was worried about something. “Googie is something wrong?” Taehyung asked pausing the movie to talk to the child. Googie shook his head to indicate a no, pausing to think again before shaking his head to say no as his final answer.

Taehyung looked down at the child raising his eyebrows to show he didn’t believe him. The child worried if he should ask Taehyung what he had been thinking about all day when people asked who his father was. Googie didn’t want to say Hajoon was his father heck he didn’t act like one. “Taetae, Jimin said a father is someone who will be there for you always and well you always are and you love Mamabun…so can I call you dad?” he asked playing with his fingers hoping Taehyung wouldn’t say no.

Taehyung was taken back with the question not expecting Googie to ask such a thing but he was over the moon. He loved Googie with his entire heart from the day he had met him and becoming his father would mean the little one is accepting him as a father figure as well as someone his mother loved. Googie had accepted Tae as his mothers boyfriend but the two often found him sulking in the corner of the reduced amount of attention.

“Of course, you can Googie.” Taehyung embraced Googie in  a hug stroking his head and kissing it. Googie had never been so happy and hugged Taehyung back, his hands barely joining due to Taehyungs buff figure. Taehyung had a wide boxy grin on his lips in excitement to tell his girlfriend how he had bonded further with Googie. Googie finally having a father figure in his life which he could brag about.
