          I watched the sky with Lawliet until it was light out, at which point Beyond started waking up. Lawliet released his hold on me, making me shiver, and I crawled over to Beyond. I poked him in the spine and his eyes flew open, his back arched. He glares up at me, but relaxes when he sees who it is. He slowly sits up, groaning. "What time is it?" I check my watch and let the color drain out of my (S/T) face. "BEYOND, IT'S 6:45!!!" He yelps and rolls off the pillows, rushing for our bedroom door. Lawliet crawls over the pillows and squats next to me. "It can't be 6:45; the sun JUST rose." I nod to where Beyond's scrambling around, getting ready for school at 5:27 in the morning.

          L chuckles slightly and you take advantage of it. "AHA!!! See? You're not nearly as emotionless as you pretend to be." He turn to me and whispers, "Says the (G) who's pretending to be cheerful and confidant to hide the sadness and insecurity (G) feels inside." My jaw drops and I manage to stutter; " H-h-how?" He simply head and says, "Detective." I recover and look back at Beyond. "Listen, L. Until now, Beyond has been my everything. I was seriously considering..." Lawliet's eyes widened and I trailed off, looking away. "Beyond showed up the day before I had planned to... Um... Anyways, he's still half of my everything. So when he's in L.A., those FBI agents WILL take care of him the best they can because I won't be there to. Alright?" L just nodded , staying silent.

          I stood up and muttered, "I'll go pack up." I walked into the room and grabbed my suitcase, throwing my five (F/C) shirts, twelve (F/C) hoodies, nine (F/C) tank tops, and ten pairs of jeans (shirts included) into it, followed by the necessities; underwear, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, soap, shampoo, conditioner, makeup, and makeup wipes. I zipped it shut and set it down next to the door. Beyond stomped into the bedroom from the bathroom and pointed at the alarm clock. "And?" "It's 5:40 am!!!" "And?" "That was your chance to make a snippy comeback." "And?" "Is that your new favourite word? I thought it was--" "No." "Yeah, that."

          I rolled my eyes and glanced in the mirror at Beyond. He started, then commented; "You know, for how often you say you have insomnia, I never see any bags in your eyes. At least, not like L's." I sigh and grab a makeup wipe. "That's because..." I wipe off the only makeup I wear; under my eyes, to cover up the bruise-like spots under them. Beyond whistles behind me. "Are you sure you can't sleep? Those are some pretty serious bags." I playfully glare at him through the mirror as I say, "I am just about ready to strangle you with my bare hands." He laughs and runs out of the room. I chase him, my heart heavy, knowing that this can't last.

=== Time Skip ===

         I stepped out of Watari's fancy car and found myself facing two airplanes: one bound for L.A., the other for Japan. Beyond stepped out of the car and came to stand by me, followed by Lawliet. As he had requested, I had dropped the façade to let them see the walled-in person I hid beneath. Beyond muttered something under his breath I couldn't hear because of the engines.

        I grabbed Beyond's hands, forcing him to look at me. "Hey. It'll be ok." Beyond nodded, choking back tears much like the ones spilling down my cheeks. I pulled him into a hug, closing my eyes against the reality of us separating. "I love you, (Y/N)." He whispered against my neck. " I love you, too, Beyond." I pulled back and he grabbed his bag and walked into the plane, hesitating at the entrance to look back at me, then disappearing. I held it together until the plane was out of sight. Then I collapsed to my knees, where Lawliet was immediately crouched at my side, his arms around me. It was official. My little Birthday boy was gone. All I had now was a Lawlipop.
