          I opened my eyes and slid out of bed, not bothering to turn on the lights before I shuffled out into the hallway. I hadn't slept at all last night, and that was my new normal. It had been about two weeks since Lawliet had died and Beyond had disappeared. I walked out of the building, squinting at the colorful blurs that went by me on the street; I'd left my glasses upstairs.

          I put my hands in my pockets and walked against the flow of traffic on the sidewalk. I knew that I was slouching. I knew that there were massive bags under my eyes. I knew that my hair was getting to be past the point where I normally cut it. I knew that my usually (Y/S) skin was now pale from weeks of being inside with no sunlight. I just didn't care.

          I turned back to the street and waited for the light to my left to turn red, and then to turn green once more. I waited until the first car was ten feet to my left and then jumped in front of it; something I'd been planning to do for a while. The car slammed into me and the owner slammed on their brakes, but the damage had already been done. I lay on the asphalt, breathing shallowly, my eyes closed. I opened them one last time to see the man's face, and I would've said that it was Watari if Watari weren't dead. I feel tears well up in my eyes at this and close them again, letting myself - no, forcing myself - to drift off to sleep.

A sleep I planned to stay in until Lawliet came to get me.

So before you strangle me I need to let you all know that I feel terrible for procrastinating writing this chapter. Originally, it started out COMPLETELY different, with you saving Beyond from your local police station the day before he was supposed to go to court, but I decided I hated it and wanted something more intense. I hope that this chapter was ok-ish. Thank you so much for 130 reads!!! The ONLY reason that this chapter is so short is that I didn't want it to be too long. so I'm gonna go get started on the next one.
