Imagine windows could lock,

Words could be buried and paved

Brick by brick, and weighed down by erosion

And stories could bring back the darkness...

Open our eyes to stars instead of ash;

Imagine simply the wind would give us peace,

Sunshine that isn't red,

Silence that isn't broken,

Imagine hate was physical

And not a phantom excuse;

Imagine the moon struck the earth,

A crash louder than any nuclear explosion

To show us just how petrified,

The dinosaurs were;

Imagine all of our feet once touched the ground,

So we understood what it meant to begin in the grass;

As victims of rain,

Imagine we knew how precious colours of blue were;

Imagine looking into a creature's eyes,

And knowing what it meant to devour its home,

Imagine dreams came to life,

Walking nightmares, dancing fantasies

And it didn't scare us anymore.

Imagine breath was natural,

And loving was easy.

Imagine something impossible.
