Prologue

EDWARD ON

I had been hit by a truck while crossing the street at the crosswalk. The light was green for me. It was probably one of those idiot drivers who drinks or uses their cell phone behind the wheel.

But anyway. I had closed my eyes, waiting for death. Then I could reunite with my parents, who passed away a few years ago. But then I woke up, looked around me and saw nothing but a white place, with the ground looking like it was made of clouds. I stood up and looked around some more, trying to figure out what was going on.

Edward: Okay, is this heaven or the afterlife?

???: You are somewhere in between, young man.

I jumped when I turned to see an elderly man with white hair, a beard, and glasses. His eyes appeared to be closed as he wore what appeared to be a kimono with sandals and a wooden cane.

Edward: I'm sorry, but who are you, sir?

???: Wow, where are my manners? I'm God. It's a pleasure to meet you, Edward.

Edward: Wait, are you God? *Looks at God* Huh? I don't think there is a true picture of what God looks like.

God: Yes, it's true.

Edward: Anyway, you said I'm between heaven and the afterlife? What does that mean?

God: *Sighs* Well, why don't we have a drink while we discuss your situation.

I agreed to drink with God, this doesn't even seem normal, as we sit at a table with two chairs. That appeared suddenly.

God: What would you like to drink?

Edward: Orange juice is fine with me.

God then snapped his fingers and a glass of orange juice appeared on the table in front of me.

Edward: Thank you. *Grabs the juice and takes a sip* Now you were going to say.

God: Right and before I explain, I want to give my condolences for your parents. And I want to apologize to you.

Edward: Thank you. But apologize for what?

God: Well, the difficult situation you are currently in was my fault. You weren't supposed to die now and I accidentally made you die very early. *Bows* I'm really sorry.

I was speechless about what God just told me. I don't think I should die yet, but I can't exactly be mad at God about it. Of course I'm upset that I can't live for my parents, but they wouldn't want me to be mad forever. I looked at God while taking a sip of the juice.

God: You won't complain about me? Or something of that nature?

Edward: *Looks around* Of course I'm a little upset, but it feels like a dream. I can't exactly stay mad forever.

God: Thank you for not complaining about me like others did before.

Edward: Before? Has this ever happened before?

God: Not in the last 10 years. I was careless thinking it wouldn't happen again, but I got unlucky with it. Again, I'm really sorry.

Edward: It's okay, God. Serious. You shouldn't bow down easily to someone. *Drinks more juice* What now? Am I going to heaven or what?

God: In fact, I was going to give you a chance to live again. I know you wanted to see your parents again, but they wanted to live again in a new life and knowing that you are okay. They wanted you to know that you should live again. That is their desire.

I was lost in my thoughts after God told me that my parents were living a new life and wanted me to keep living. I smiled as I looked at God.

Edward: Well, I accept my parents' wish. I would like to live once more. So how does this work? Will I be able to read, write and speak the same language as the world when I reincarnate?

God: Yes, you will be able to read and write in addition to speaking the same language as the world you go to.

Edward: *Sighs of relief* That's a relief. Now, how do we determine which world I will be in?

I watched as God pulled out a cardboard box with a hole in the top. I look inside it and there are papers inside.

God: This is how most people determine where they go. Each strip of paper has the name of the universe in which you would be reincarnated. From anime worlds to cartoon series, they are all in this box. Now. *Pushes the box towards me* Take a strip from inside and open it.

I swallowed hard as I looked at the box. I held my breath as I put my hand inside the box and moved until I grabbed a piece of paper. I pulled it out and held it in my hands. I was feeling nervous and felt my heart beating gradually. I held my breath and opened the piece of paper while closing my eyes. It was until God cleared his throat and I opened my eyes. My eyes widened and my mouth was open.

God: Well? Don't keep the suspense! What world will you be reincarnating into?

I smiled big as I had a little party of joy in my head.

Edward: I will be reincarnated in the "One Piece" universe. I've loved this anime for a long time now. I can't believe my luck!

God laughed a little at my reaction and knew I would be happy about it.

God: Now then, since we know what world you will go to. Now is the time to see whether you will keep your memories or not and how many wishes you will receive. This machine will determine that. *Moves wrist*

With a flick of God's wrist, a machine appeared before God and me. It looked like those arcade games where the base is rotating with several holes and a single ball would be launched and bounce until it fell into a hole.

Edward: Oh cool, it's one of those ball drop games you see in arcades. Very cool. *Looks at God* Now, when you said "how many wishes", what is the maximum wishes one can get?

God: Well, there are mostly spaces for one wish, but there are two and three wishes, which are unusual. They are there, but there is a rare chance to get five wishes. It is difficult to achieve these five wishes as there is a one to ten percent chance of it happening. However, each space may or may not retain past memories, so there is a fifty-fifty chance. Now, press the button so we can know whether you will keep your memories or not, and how many wishes you will receive.

I nodded and walked to the machine. I pressed the button and watched the ball fall and ricochet until it fell into a crevice. The machine stopped when the ball finally fell into a hole beneath the sprocket. The slit was glowing white and a piece of paper was ejected from the machine. God took the piece of paper and read it. He looked at me as I was getting really nervous about this. I was more nervous about whether I would lose my memories or not, but not too much with the amount of wishes. Soon the result was revealed.

Edward: So I'm going to keep my past memories?

God continued to look at me and the paper for a few minutes. He interrupted with a smile and placed his hand on my shoulder.

God: You have nothing to worry about, young man. You managed to keep your memories.

I sighed heavily with relief knowing that I can keep my memories.

Edward: Oh, that's a relief. The suspense was killing me, so to speak.

God: *Laughs a little* Yes, the suspense was thick enough to cut with a knife.

Edward: What about the amount of desires?

God: Well... See for yourself.

God then handed me the paper. Which I read the contents out loud.

Edward: "Keep past memories and..."

God: *Smiling* And what?

Edward: "...6 wishes." But wait a little. Wasn't the maximum 5?

God: That's right. But this 6th wish is something secret. Something extremely difficult to achieve. I would say 1,000,000,000/1.

Edward: Damn. So I'm pretty lucky. Somehow.

God: Yes. But what now? What will you order?

I moved away from God to think. I have six wishes to make and I will go to the "One Piece" universe. Now I know that those who died before, if they had the same world as me, would have chosen to have the power of a Devil Fruit, or more than one. I kind of pictured myself as a Zoan Type, a Paramecia Type, or both. I was never a big fan of the Logia, as I found them too appealing, especially the Enel one. So I was led to think about some things I would love to have. With my desires defined, I turned to God.

Edward: God.

God: Hmm?

Edward: I know that others who have had the chance to be reborn in the One Piece universe have asked to become Devil Fruit Users. But I don't want to just be a Devil Fruit user.

God was intrigued where I was going.

Edward: I want to at least be able to help Luffy and the Straw Hats.

God: Very good. And what are your desires?

Edward: My first wish is something I've always wanted. My first wish is that I have an RPG System. Like Solo Leveling.

God: Very good.

Edward: My second wish is to have a Devil Fruit that I found a while ago. The Neko Neko no Mi, Model: Tiger.

God: Very good.

Edward: My third wish is to be able to eat more than one Devil Fruit without dying.

God: Very good. But I'll have to limit it to just three.

Edward: That's fine with me. My fourth wish is that I not be affected by the normal weaknesses of Devil Fruits.

God: This desire is very bold. But everything is fine.

Edward: My fifth wish is to have Seimei Kikan, like Kumadori and Rob Lucci.

God: Very good. And what will be your last wish?

Edward: I was saving that wish for last. I wish I had greater ease in learning any fighting style.

God was surprised.

God: Hmm... a very interesting wish. I usually watch how others are when I send them to their new lives, but I think it will be interesting to watch you. So be it, your wishes have been granted. But you will still have to train the fighting styles you want to learn.

Edward: Cool. Thank you very much.

God: You're welcome.

Edward: My life is going to change drastically at this point. *Looks at God* Thank you, God. For giving me the chance to live again and in my favorite anime and allowing me to have these incredible abilities. {Luckily, I know a little about how to fight. This will be useful until I learn a fighting style.}

God: *Laughs* You're welcome. Now go. And no offense, but I don't expect to see you again.

Edward: I say the same.

God then raised his hand as the area turned into a bright white tornado and was getting brighter as it had fully engulfed the area. I briefly heard God's voice for the last time:

God: Good luck, Edward D. Uzuki. I wish you luck.

I had my eyes closed for a moment and when I opened them I was on a beach, with a lush forest right behind me. I then turned to the sea, took a deep breath of that sea air, and thought to myself:

Edward: {Looks like I've arrived. To the One Piece universe.}
