Part 5

As they walked down the hallway to the elevator, some guy passing by did a double take and whistled at her.  Tom gave him the finger and kept walking with his arm around Dianna.

"These shoes are killing me.  I'm not used to wearing such high heels."  She held onto Tom as she took off her heels.  Held them by the straps and continued walking with him.

"What floor is your room on?"

"Top floor.  It's the penthouse.  I sometimes rent it for business meetings so the staff at the Hilton know me."

"This is really beautiful.  I have never been in a penthouse before."  She stood by the huge glass window and looked out at the city.  She could see the lights from the other buildings and an airplane flying in the distance.  Tom came close to her and put his arm around her.  She pushed him away and went to sit on the sofa.

"Tom, have you ever cheated on your wife?"

"No, never."

"For real?"

"Yes, for real."

"How about you Dianna?  Have you ever cheated on your husband."

"No, never.  Of course, I had plenty of opportunity.  One of his friends has a crush on me.   I told him about it but he said it was all in my mind."

"I'll order some dinner to be sent up.  You're probably hungry."  Tom looked at the menu left on the coffee table. " How about steak and baked potato with a salad."

"Sounds good.  How about some coffee.  I  have about had it with the drinks.  I'm not much of a drinker."

After dinner, Tom put on some music.

"That's our favorite song.  That song was played when I first met my husband.  Then we had the band play it at our wedding.  How did you know?"

Tom just smiled and shrugged his shoulders.

"Tell me more about your wife, Tom.  "Is she pretty?"

"Yes, but not as beautiful as you are.  Sometimes, she doesn't have time to wear make-up or dress up nice.  You know how it is.  She gets busy with things and lets herself go some days."

Dianna clearly didn't like his answer.  "For real?"

"Yes for real."

Dianna just frowned.

"How about your husband?  Is he movie star quality like you said I am?"

"Yes, but he doesn't dress as nice as you.  Hardly ever see him in a suit. Doesn't pay me the attention I need.  You know, he gets busy with work, golf, watching sports on TV, hanging out with his friends."

Tom clearly didn't like her answer.  "For real?"

Dianna shook her head yes.

"Just think if we had met years ago.  Sounds like we were made for each other.  We've both got drive and ambition and not afraid to take a chance."
