C H A P T E R - 1

Sharad's body shook with racking sobs as he sat on the floor, his fists clenched and his eyes streaming with tears. His face was contorted in anguish, his features twisted in a mixture of pain and despair.

"Vasant bhaiya..." Sharad's voice was hoarse and cracking, his words tumbling out in a desperate, sorrowful rush. "Meri Anna ko mujhse dar lagne laga hai..." (Vasant brother, my Anna is scared of me...)

Sharad's body convulsed with sobs as he continued, "Meri pyaar ki naiyaa toh paani mein jaane se pehle hi doob gyii!" (My boat of love has sunk even before it reached the water!)

Vasant's eyes filled with tears as he looked at his younger brother, his heart heavy with sorrow. He knew that Sharad's words were not just a metaphor, but a reflection of the deep pain and fear that had taken hold of their family.

Varsha, Hemant, and Shishir sat in stunned silence, their faces pale and worried, as they watched Sharad's emotional breakdown.

Hemant's voice trembled as he asked, "Papa, hume yeh colony chhod kar jana hoga?" (Papa, will we have to leave this colony?) His innocent eyes searched for reassurance, but Vasant's expression only filled him with more worry

Vasant's voice was laced with sadness as he replied, "Haa, n beta, jana toh hoga naa..." (Yes, son, we'll have to leave...) He trailed off, unable to complete the sentence.

Varsha's voice was barely above a whisper as she asked, "Vasant, colony wale humme accept nhi kar sakte kyaa?" (Vasant, can't the colony residents accept us?) Her eyes, filled with a deep longing, searched Vasant's face for a glimmer of hope.

Vasant's voice was laced with a mix of sadness and resignation as he explained, "Varsha, hum aliens hai, insaan toh agar koi apni jaati ka na ho toh use bhi accept nahi karte... humari toh parjaati hi alag hai!" (Varsha, we're aliens. Humans don't even accept someone from their own kind if they're different. Our species is entirely different!)

Varsha's eyes filled with tears as she nodded slowly, understanding the harsh reality of their situation. The weight of their differences, of being aliens in a human world, seemed crushing at that moment.

Vasant's voice was barely above a whisper as he continued, "Isliye humne apne aliens hone ka sach sabse chhupaya tha, Varsha..." (That's why we hid the truth about being aliens from everyone, Varsha...)

His eyes clouded over, memories of their past struggles and fears flooding back. "Humne socha tha ki agar hum apni asli pehchaan chhupaye rahenge, toh shayad hum yahaan ek naya zindagi bana payenge..." (We thought that if we kept our true identity hidden, maybe we could build a new life here...)

Varsha's voice was laced with determination and resignation as she said, "Ab hume hamare 2015 ki khoj kahi aur jaake karni hogi!" (Now we'll have to continue our search for our son 2015 somewhere else!)

Her eyes seemed to gaze into the distance, her mind already racing with the possibilities and challenges that lay ahead. The thought of leaving behind the life they had built in Sunshine Colony was difficult, but the need to find their lost son was a burning fire that drove them forward.

Sharad's voice was filled with a mix of emotions as he mentioned Manav's name. "Vasant bhaiya, Manav ne toh humare liye stand liya tha naa... woh bhi toh ek insaan!" (Vasant brother, Manav stood up for us, didn't he? And he's a human too!)

Vasant's eyes clouded over, memories of Manav's bravery and kindness flooding back. "Manav..." he whispered, a hint of a smile on his lips.

Manav's voice was firm and resolute as he entered the room, his eyes locked onto Vasant's. "Aur mein humesha aapke saath khada rahunga." (And I will always stand by you.)

Vasant's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at Manav, his heart filled with gratitude.

Manav's expression was stern, his jaw set in determination. "Vasant bhaiya, mein ek fauji hun. Hum agar dushman ko mushkil mein dekhte hain toh uski madad karne se kabhi piche nahi hatete." (Vasant brother, I'm a soldier. We don't hesitate to help even our enemies when they're in trouble.)

His voice softened as he continued, "Aap toh fir humare padosi hai, mera parivaar." (You're not just our neighbors, you're my family.)The Ghotala family's faces were etched with emotion as they looked at Manav, his words touching their hearts. In a world where they had been rejected and feared, Manav's acceptance and loyalty meant everything to them.

Varsha's voice was filled with emotion as she began to explain, "Hum sach keh rehe hai Manav, hum yaha kisi ko bhi kisi bhi tarah ki haani pohuchane nhi aaye the!" (We're telling the truth, Manav, we didn't come here to harm anyone!)

But before she could complete her sentence, Manav interrupted her, his voice calm and reassuring. "Jaanta hun Varsha bhabhi, aapko yaha 1.5 saal ho gaya hai..." (I know, Varsha bhabhi, you've been here for 1.5 years...)

He smiled gently as he continued, "Agar aapko kisi ko haani pohchani hoti, toh aap log woh pehle hi kar chuke hote." (If you had wanted to harm anyone, you would have done it by now.)Varsha's eyes filled with tears as she looked at Manav, his words touching her heart.

She knew that Manav had seen beyond the fears and misconceptions of their alien presence, and had accepted them for who they truly were.

Hemant's voice trembled as he cried out, "Manav bhaiya!" and flung his arms around Manav's waist, hugging him tightly.

Manav's face softened as he looked down at Hemant, his eyes filled with warmth and understanding. He gently patted Hemant's back, trying to comfort him.

"Mujhe yeh society chhod kar nhi jana hai, aap colony walo ko samjhao naa!" Hemant pleaded, his voice filled with innocence and desperation. (I don't want to leave this society, please explain to the colony residents!)

...............

Hemant's voice was barely above a whisper as he asked, "Bhavna Aunty, hum andar aaye?" (Aunty, can we come in?) He walked into the room with a sad expression, his eyes cast downward, his shoulders slumped in defeat.

Shishir trailed behind him, her eyes fixed on Bhavna, who stood frozen, her face a mix of emotions - shock, confusion, and a hint of fear.

Bhadresh's voice cut through the tense atmosphere, his tone frustrated and accusatory. "Ae lambe Ghotale, jab tum log Dharti par aaye the, tab yeh sab kyun nahi pucha, ki Dharti vasiyo, hum andar aaye?" (Hey, tall Ghotale, when you first came to Earth, why didn't you ask if you could come in?)

His words hung in the air, a challenge to the Ghotale family, who stood silently, their faces etched with a mix of sadness, guilt, and understanding. Vasant and Varsha exchanged a painful glance, their eyes filled with regret for not being more considerate of human customs and protocols.

Hemant's voice was filled with a mix of defensiveness and explanation as he replied, "Tab hume yaha ke rules nhi pata the na Bhadresh Uncle!" (We didn't know the rules here back then, Uncle Bhadresh!)

He took a deep breath before continuing, "Hume yaha ke rules yaha aakar pata chale." (We learned the rules here after coming here.)Hemant's eyes looked up at Bhadresh with a hint of innocence, his voice taking on a slightly righteous tone.

"Ab papa sabko pucch kar hi andar jaate hai, mandir mein bhi Bhagwaan ji se puchhke andar jaate hai." (Now, Papa always asks permission before entering anywhere, even in the temple, he asks God's permission before entering.)

The room fell silent, with all eyes on Hemant, who had unknowingly highlighted the cultural differences between humans and aliens.

Shishir's voice was laced with a mix of sadness and resignation as he announced, "Bhavna Aunty, hum jaa rhe hai!" (Aunty, we're leaving!) She paused, her eyes welling up with tears as he continued, "Ek akhiri baar Pritesh se milke usse bye bolna aaye the hum log!" (We came to meet Pritesh one last time and say goodbye!)

The room fell silent, with all eyes on Shishir, who stood with his head bowed, his shoulders shaking with sobs. Bhavna's expression softened, her eyes filling with compassion as he looked at Shishir.

Pritesh's face was a picture of anguish, his eyes red and puffy from crying. He gazed at Hemant and the rest of the Ghotale family, his expression a mix of sadness and longing. "Hemant bhaiya!" he cried out, his voice cracking with emotion.

He ran to Hemant, flinging his arms around his waist and burying his face in his chest. Hemant's eyes welled up with tears as he hugged Pritesh tightly, trying to comfort him. "Tu ro mat Pritesh, Ronnie bhaiya kehte hai aansu insaan ko kamchor banate hai," (Don't cry, Pritesh, Ronnie bhaiya says that tears make humans weak)

he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. Pritesh looked up at Hemant, his eyes shining with tears.

He took a deep breath, trying to compose himself, but his lower lip still quivered. Hemant smiled gently and wiped away Pritesh's tears with his sleeve, trying to reassure him that everything would be okay.
