Harry Fordé // Hello
What makes a person special?-
I am literally surprised about the fact that I'm still conscious instead of feeling drunk or dazed- feels like I'm numb and I can't feel anything, if that's possible.
I could still hear the crowd yelling 'We want more!' into the familiar girl who's smiling at the stage, flattered by the compliments she receives.
I consider this as a very weird coincidence. First, I was surprised when I saw her walk into that stage. Second, my jaw dropped when she started to sing and perform a song and just feel the music runs through her veins as she move randomly at the stage and lastly, there's also this thought in my mind that I can't get through ever since I saw her face twice- It's about her face, especially her smile, there's something special on it.
Honestly, it reminds me of her. It's not that I'm broken and I'm still overwhelmed about what happened that gives me the hint to remember something about her.
"Okay, okay!" She chuckled. "I'll sing another song, yeah? Sheesh! I never thought how happy and full of life a bar could be!" She shrugged sheepishly- that's so cute.
The crowd started to calm down as she said something to her band.
My phone vibrates as the guy on the synthesizer started to tap his fingers through the thing infront of him- whatever that is, that's so cool.
I grabbed my phone and stare at it for a second. My eyebrows furrowed as I saw my mom's contact number was flashed on my screen.
I knew it, she will call me and then asked what really happened because my cousin Shawn told her the tragic story happened last night and she want the whole story.
I sighed, biting my lower lip as I hesitated on answering the incoming call.
I pressed the answer button and shut my eyes.
"Hello?! Harry! What the hell happened?! Huh? I bet you could explain to me what Shawn just told me..." I went outside the club, rubbing my fingers through my nape as my mom continued to yell at me.
"M-Mom—Mom, wait, listen to me." I said calmly.
"Okay. I will. Start speaking now. Is it true, what happened last night?"
"Yeah but, I'm fine and I'm trying to unwind myself, forget about it, 'kay?" I smiled, even though my mom couldn't see it.
"Fine? Are you sure?" Mom's voice cracked.
I shrugged. "Well, I don't have a choice. I need to be fine, right?"
I actually heard her sobbing. "Ugh, my little boy. I'll pray that the both of you should fix this and darling, please- don't rush things, okay? Let God to show you the perfect time for things— for serious things. You're still young and there's a lot of things you must know first before anything else, yeah?"
The both of us were silent for a moment. I pursed my lips, struggling to fight the tears and the feeling I felt when she said no.
"Just know that I'm always right here for you, my little boy. You could come here in our house anytime you want."
I nod as a response even though my mom wouldn't see it.
"Just promise me you'll be fine, you heard that?" Mom said and her sobbing was stopped.
"I promise." I smiled.
We ended the call and I suddenly felt how heavy my chest is, it was awful. I hate it when I'm sad, the feeling that you want to cry but there's no tears would like to come out in your eyes, just because you're embarrassed.
You are a guy, you must be tough.
Fortunately, there's this people like my mom, who will always be there to give you a reason not to cry and to be tough because, you know to yourself that- even that person left you, there's someone who will always be by your side no matter what because a special someone is the one who makes you feel special even in your worst.
