Hawkins' Happenings 1
Prologue
I like to think, fantasize about what life could've been if things would've not happened, or different stuff would've occurred, you know? Just your casual what if? And I already hear you thinking: "(y/n), what a weird way to start your story." Well, you're completely right, but I just felt like I had to expand upon the story I shared. The story you all know. I want to share stuff that happened in between, and also stuff which I made up, or how you would call it "non-canon". And the made up stuff is of course a story, and like the already known story...
Everything is connected.
Minor a/n here, there's two types of stories in Hawkins' Happenings, the non-canon ones, which is its own separate storyline and the canon ones. Just for clarity, Will and y/n get together July 1st 1985, so any canon story that takes place beforehand will of course be before they get together!

Killer
- April 13th/14th 1984
- Canonicity: Non-Canon
This is the first story I'm going to share. Will was saved back in November 1983, and that Christmas we all celebrated together. After that me and Will just casually kinda became better friends as Lucas and Dustin sorta became bestfriends within the group and Mike was just Mike. And well, in reality life just went on, just us doing our best. Will had these check-ins at a doctor just to help him past his trauma. I think they call that a therapist. Anyway, that was in reality. But what I imagined is of course way cooler, so that's why were here. And it takes place April 1984, April 13th to be exact. To make matters worse, it was a Friday too.
But alas, finally made it through another week. Summer was slowly coming closer. I was so extremely excited, no more homework, no more tests, just, freedom. I hoped things would change. That Will could be normal again, because today I biked to school alone again. We lived closest after all so it would be fun to bike to school together, just like old times.
I arrived at school where Mike, Lucas and Dustin were waiting for me. "How do you manage to take so long every single time," Mike said. "It's not my fault you guys keep being early," I replied. "But you could be early too!" Dustin said. "No, I need my sleep," I said. "Anyway, any of you seen Will?" "No, he's probably in class early again, why?" Lucas said. "He told me yesterday that he wanted to tell me something, alone, in private but he got interrupted," I said. "What do you think he wanted to tell you?" Mike asked. "I have no idea," I said. "But he wasn't comfortable sharing it with the group, so, if he asks for the privacy, please just give it," I continued. "Copy that!" Dustin said. It got quiet but then Mike noticed a car. Not just a car.
"Alright have a nice day sweetie," Joyce said as Will got out of the car. "Thanks mom, love you," he said. He then walked towards us. "Hey guys," he said. "Hi Will," I said and the others all followed with something like that of course. "Were you guys talking about something, it's so awkwardly quiet," Will said. "Oh, no, we were just wondering where you were," I said. Will smiled. "So, let's get to class," Will said. In a group we slowly made our way to class. "I'm way too tired for class right now," I told Will as I wanted to start a small conversation. "You're not alone, mom was on the phone with Bob all night," Will said. "I didn't catch a lot of sleep," he continued. "Maybe we can skip class and sleep in the AV room," I suggested. Will laughed. "no, we have to follow class," he said after which he yawned. We reached our first class, it was Mr. Clarke's class which was like our favorite class, but not for me, atleast not today. I was still thinking about yesterday. What did Will want to tell me? Would he try again today?
This continued to irritate me the rest of the day. And then after our final classes we were on our locker tour, which is basically the party stopping at everyone's locker to drop off the stuff they didn't need. He still didn't say anything. But then finally when we were going outside I heard him. "(y/n)," Will said. I looked at Mike, Dustin and Lucas, who understood the message and went outside to their bikes. "Yeah, what's up?" I asked. Will seemed confident but now started to get nervous. He still seemed confident but like, he was nervous too. "Uh, I wanted to uh, tell you something..." Will started. I got a bit confused. What did he want to tell me? "Well the truth is..." he continued. It would come out any second now. "I uh, I l..." he continued but then got interrupted by Joyce. "Hey sweetie, what's taking so long, Bob is coming over tonight remember?" she said. Will looked at Joyce and then at me. He then continued to walk off towards Joyce. I grabbed his arm. "Weren't you telling me something?" I asked. Will shook his head. "No, just, I'm sorry," he said and then walked off.
Of course this conversation didn't leave my mind. My mom had made my favorite food for dinner, but I didn't even eat a lot. So my mom of course worried. But I told her I was okay to get her off my skin. After dinner I just went straight upstairs. To the right, passing the two other bedrooms to reach mine. It of course had to be the bedroom the furthest away but atleast I didn't have to share it anymore. I jumped straight into bed to start thinking. What did Will want to tell me? He started with 'I uh, I l...' and then just stopped. Will was also confident but nervous. L, what could that l have been? Then I realized there were only two possible options. Like or love, which, in that sentence both mean the same. Will is in love with me?
I started questioning it, Will, liking another guy. The only thing I knew was that he thus must've always kinda been like that, so how would that change a friendship, our friendship. I guess I was fine with it. But he really is my bestfriend, and I didn't want to hurt his feelings. Because I am not gay. Right? I decided it would be best to call him the next morning. So that's exactly what I did.
The next morning I called the Byers. But there was no answer, that's weird. Maybe they were still asleep. I looked at the time and realized they would never still be asleep by now, or atleast not Joyce and even she didn't respond. So next thing you know I got on my bike and made my way over to their house since I of course had to talk to Will. At their house I knocked on the door and to my surprise Will opened the door. "(y/n), what are you doing here?" he said in a way that made it sound now wasn't really the time to come by. "I uh, called but no one answered," I explained. "Well, mom and Bob left to go see Jonathan," Will said. "So uh, I don't think I feel like hanging out today," Will continued and was about to close the door when I stopped it. "What happened to Jonathan?" Will sighed knowing he probably already said too much. "He was in a car crash last night, he survived, but he's in a coma, so no one really knows how it happened," Will told me after which he started to cry and fell into my arms. "He could've been dead, and it's still not sure if he will survive or not," Will cried as I comforted him as the friend I was. "He's going to be okay, he is still alive," I said. Will let go of me and nodded. Then he turned around and was about to go inside when we both realized the door had slammed shut. "Oh no, well this is just fantastic," Will said. "Can't you open it with a key?" I asked. "I didn't think I'd need one," Will replied after which he sat down. "So now we have to wait around for your mom to come around?" I asked. "Yeah, and that will take forever since she won't leave Jonathan's side, ever," Will said kinda jealous. "Hey, she did the same for you, you know that right?" I said hoping to take away the jealousy. And then I decided we were going to bike to the hospital. "So, you coming to the hospital with me or what?" I said as I reached my hand out to him. "With bikes? Yours doesn't fit two people and my keys are still inside," Will said as he grabbed my hand and got up. "Then I hope you have a lot of funny stories to tell, cause walking there will take a while," I said and laughed. Will smiled. And we began our adventure.
I believe we were in the middle of the woods where it actually got quiet again. We had decided a little while back to just go in a straight line to the hospital and not follow any roads which looking back on now, would've been a better idea because we might be lost in the woods. "And then the silence took over," I said with an awkward laugh. Will joined in on that awkward laugh. Then I remembered why I actually went to Will's in the first place. "Hey, Will, uh, about yesterday," I said as I stopped and looked at him. Will stopped too. "What were you going to tell me?" I asked. Will just awkwardly laughed. "Nothing, nothing important," he said as he started walking again. "Then why'd you try to tell it for two days straight?" I asked him. He slowly walked further so I had to slowly follow. "I don't know," he said. "Do you like me?" I said a bit angrily maybe. "What?!" Will responded angrily. "How could you even think that, we're friends!" he continued. "And maybe that's for the better!" I said without thinking. "Yeah, maybe it is!" Will responded. "I can't believe this is what you're worried about right now!" he continued. "I'm sorry, but it's not my fault someone got me all curious the past two days and then continues to brush off whatever he was going to tell as not important!" I said angrily. "Jonathan is in the hospital, I'm sorry that I'm not really in the mood for whatever I was gonna say two days ago!" Will said after which we both just became silent again. I didn't really expect Will to get this angry, he hardly gets angry. And then I just felt bad, of course he wasn't thinking about the past few days, Jonathan could be dead at any second who knows.
After more walking I heard commotion somewhere. So I called Will. He responded despite our fight. "Do you hear that?" I asked him. Will shook his head. I heard a lot of people talking, doing their thing so I started running towards the sound. "Wha- Where are you going?!" Will asked as he followed me. I stopped at a set of bushes and just watched what was going on. Will soon joined as he asked: "What is this about?" I looked around and saw some white vans from Hawkins Lab and people from the lab who were dismantling a car that had crashed against a tree. And soon I understood what was going on. "Jonathan crashed right here," I said after which me and Will quickly ran off to discuss what we saw.

Mad Squad
- April 22nd - April 26th 1985
- Canonicity: Canon
My day started with my alarm. Of course it had to go off, of course I had to go to school again today. And the worst part about it, it was monday. But the one thing that did make my day was the fact that Will was biking with me to school. El closed the gate so we were safe, he was safe, and Joyce allowed him to go to school on his own. So we met at Mirkwood. Although I of course was running a bit late. When I arrived he was about to leave.
"Wait, Will, I'm here!" I yelled as he turned around. "Finally, it took you long enough," he said when I was next to him. "Shall we go now?" he asked. "Yeah, sure," I said even though I was literally still trying to like, not die of exhaustion. We started biking down the road. "Hey, (y/n), I was thinking and uh, you wanna go grab a movie friday, after school?" Will suddenly asked. I remembered the first movie we watched together, Neverending Story and realized the amounts of fun that was. "Yeah, I'd love to, maybe we can go to Starcourt, I believe the grand opening day is friday," I said. "That's a great idea, I really want to see the mall, imagine what it looks like from the inside!" Will said all excited. "Yeah I know, I'm expecting atleast a shop called Scoops Ahoy," I said. The joke was that I already knew it would be there because Steve was hired to work there. Will didn't know however, so I would seem like some sort of psychic wizard to him once it opened. "That's odly specific, either way, can't wait," Will said while smiling. So of course I smiled back.
After more biking we arrived at school where Mike and Dustin were waiting for us. "Hey guys!" I said as I then continued to almost crash my bike into Dustin because of excitement or something. "Watch where you're going!" Dustin yelled after which he started screaming because I was coming closer. "Well that was unnecessary," Mike said. Will and I got off our bikes. "We're starting with Mr. Clarke today right?" I asked. Mike nodded. Will then started looking around. "Where are Lucas and Max?" he asked. I then looked around too of course but no Lucas or Max. "I don't know," Dustin said after which we heard some loud yelling from inside school so we went inside.
"I can't believe you forgot!" I heard but I couldn't see who was yelling because there were a lot of people watching and thus in the way. "How was I supposed to remember?!" "We planned this weeks ago!" I pushed some people to the side and finally found the arguing people. Which were Lucas and Max. "I can't believe you're going on about this, my parents forced me to!" Lucas yelled. "You could've literally gotten out of their grasp, Erica does it all the time!" Max yelled back. "But you always have to make things about you... about us!" Lucas said. "You know what, fine, go help you're parents, I'm breaking up with you," Max said as she then continued to walk off. "This is the fourth time you did this!" Lucas yelled but he got no response. Lucas then turned to look at us. "What are you staring at?" he asked after which he too walked off.
"We'll that was something," I said. "Let's just go to class," Dustin suggested. The four of us walked to Mr. Clarke's class where I sat down behind Will and thus also next to Max. Mr. Clarke started class and I might've dozed off. Fantasizing about how I would tell Will how I feel. It'd for sure be the two of us. And I don't know, I probably would just tell him that I love him. Or like him. Or want to be with him. But Will didn't even know I was gay yet. Somehow I shared that with literally everyone that had been through he same Upside-Down stuff except for him.
It was at the end of class when I was pulled out of my imagination when I heard class was over. "Okay, well, since that's all I have for today, you can uh, do something for yourselves with the remaining time," Mr. Clarke told us. "Oh, wait, before I forget, there's a test Friday, covering chapters 1 to 30," he added. The entire class got quiet. "30?!" Max then yelled. "Are you insane, out of your mind?!" she continued. "Maxine, I do not tolerate this behavior!" Mr. Clarke said. "And yes, 30," he added. "But it's due Friday, you can't do that!" Max yelled back. "I bet I can," Mr. Clarke said. "I bet you can't," Max said. I was honestly just enjoying this fight and hoping Max would get through, because 30 chapters was indeed a lot. "Fine, if you can give me three reasons why I can't give the test, I will cancel, you have until Thursday," Mr. Clarke said. "That's a deal," Max replied after which the bell rang. I grabbed my stuff and stood up to then go to Will who was still busy with packing his stuff. "Oh well, I guess we'll be studying for the rest of our week," Will said as he put his books down. "Well luckily the test is first thing Friday, and besides, going to Starcourt mall would've been after school anyway," I said. "That's right, but that doesn't make the rest of the week anything better," Will said. "Well, we could study together? I don't think your mom would mind me spending the week at your place," I suggested. "I don't know, she doesn't like us having a sleepover on a schoolday," Will said. "But, do you want it?" I then asked. Will was silent for a moment. "I think so," he said. "Well then lets ask," I said. Will nodded and smiled after which he had finished putting his stuff in his bag. We left the classroom.
"Well did your mom agree?" After school me and Will made our way over to Melvald's where Joyce was working. We barged right in and Will straight up asked. Joyce responded with the typical: "You know we don't do sleepovers on a schoolday," but Will threw the 30 chapters right back at her. So then she changed her mind since I started convincing her it would be easier to study. After that she asked if my mom agreed and then I had to tell her that my mom had left in 1981. "But then how does...? What is...? How are you even...? Nevermind, it's okay," Joyce said. "Wait, he can come over? For the whole week?" Will asked. "Yeah sure, but there's one thing I don't get, if it's 30 chapters, which trust me is a lot, why hasn't anyone rebelled yet?" Joyce asked. I looked at Will as he looked at me, both remembering Max of course. Max was going to destroy Mr. Clarke if no one stopped her, maybe we had to intervene.
"Do you have any idea where she could be?" I asked while we left Melvald's. "My guess, school, if she's going to rebel she has to be there!" Will said. "Then lets go there!" I said as we started a race to school. Now Max had a point to rebel, but it would leave Mr. Clarke in pain and that would just be wrong. "Why did he have to give 30 chapters for one test," Will said in pure pain because he was already tired. I was too, but we had to fight the pain.
When we arrived at school I saw Max going inside. "Quick, there she is!" I yelled as I jumped off my bike, which drove against the wall and fell down. Will tried the same but just face planted into the grass. I ran towards him. Somehow it became a weird moment, of just him and I, alone but together. "Are you okay?" I asked. He looked up. "Yeah," he said and smiled while I helped him up. Oh boy, I was holding his hand now. Oh my gosh, this was, oh my, no words, damn okay. And I might get sidetracked for a bit here but he was strong, like, I didn't expect the strength or the force he used when I pulled him up. But back to the story, we then went inside where we managed to catch Max's attention. "What are you doing here?!" she asked. "We're here to stop you!" I said trying to catch my breath. "From what?" Max asked. "Protesting," Will said. But then I noticed Max had company.
"Erica Sinclair, you asked Erica Sinclair to help you in this?" I said a bit mad but still catching my breath. "Yeah, I knew I wouldn't be able to win this fight alone, so I got Erica," Max explained. "But, she would, destroy Mr. Clarke, he wouldn't, oh god, survive," Will said, while almost dying. "What do you care, you want to study 30 chapters?" Max asked. "Wait 30? Oh he ain't surviving," Erica then said. "Please just spare his life," I said. "NO, YOU GUYS STAY OUT OF THIS!" Max yelled. "Or, join me, join the Mad Squad," Max then proposed. "The Mad Squad?" Will asked. "Oh yeah, that's her stupid nerd-ass name for the club she assembled," Erica explained. "But it's just you two," I said. "Help us!" I then heard. "I said shut up!" Max said into her walkie after which she turned it off. I got confused but decided to walk past Max to the set of lockers the two were right next to, one of which, made a noise. I opened it and out came Dustin as he fell on the ground. "She made us go with her," Dustin said while on the ground. "Us?" I asked. "Uh, I don't know what he's talking about," Max said. But I knew she was lying as I opened the two other lockers next to the one Dustin came out of, and Mike and Lucas also stepped out. "Max are you crazy?" Will asked. "You thought just going in and threatening the man would work?" Will continued as I questioned what he was about to bring up. "He asked for three good reasons, not death, did you even make a gameplan?" Will asked.
This question led to the seven of us going into the AV club where we started discussing and coming up with three reasons. I still don't get why we switched sides, but that worked. "Okay so, the first and easiest one is the short amount of time we have to study, I mean it's four days, so that'd mean like what, 8 chapters a day?" Will said. "Right, and tests have to be announced atleast one week prior and this isn't technically a week prior," Mike added. "Yeah, but that is still the first reason, we have to come up with two more," I said. "What about the people that have sports, or other important stuff, that would lead to them losing time to study, having to do 10 chapters a day," Max issued. "That's right, now we just need that third reason," Lucas said. "PTSD," Dustin said. Everyone got silent and looked at him. "PT what now?" Erica asked. "PTSD," Dustin repeated. "And what type of reason is that?" Mike asked. "Will still has it, he had it for the entirety of last year, studying didn't really go well, right Will?" Dustin asked. Will nodded. "So, not everyone has it, but the ones that do can't force 30 chapters in the span of four days, maybe Will can use that as the third reason," Dustin said. Max then stepped to the door as she put on her sunglasses. "Where did you get those from?" I asked but I didn't get an answer. "Let's go to action, Mad Squad," Max said.
What followed was us walking towards Mr. Clarke's classroom. However that sounds boring so in my head it was Max in front with her sunglasses looking all badass, with all of us behind her, walking in slow motion like we were about to have this epic showdown. In combination with some epic music. Something like "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" from Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. Yes I did my research, but damn does that elevate this moment to the next level.
Once we arrived in Mr. Clarke's classroom our quest started. "Mr. Clarke, I have my reasons, literally," Max said as Mr. Clarke looked at the seven of us. We then pulled some chairs to his desk and sat down. "First of all, 30 chapters is a lot, and a test has to be announced a week prior," Max said. "It's 30 chapters I have already been over, twice," Mr. Clarke responded. "And the week prior announcement, that's nonsense," Mr. Clarke said. Max realized the first reason had failed, so up to the second one. "What about sports, that takes the time to study away," Lucas said. "That's not up to me, you can skip that," Mr. Clarke responded. "If I ever have you as a teacher, skipping will be the least I do with your class," Erica said. Will looked at me. He seemed nervous. But it was now up to him as the two previous reasons had failed. "What about PTSD?" Will said. "Will, you're the highest scoring student in my class, PTSD isn't an excuse in this case," Mr. Clarke said. "But I'm sure I'm not the only one who suffers from that, you should atleast show some respect!" Will then said. "I was but just..." Mr. Clarke said. "NO YOU WEREN'T, I CAN'T STUDY AT ALL, AND BECAUSE THE TESTS WERE WHAT LIKE TWO CHAPTERS!" Will yelled. "Move. The. Test!" Will said. Mr. Clarke got quiet. Then after two seconds he gave us his answer.
"No? He literally said no, even though he said he might cancel the test if we gave him three reasons to and we literally did," Max complained on our way outside. Lucas had already left with Erica before she would attack. Mike and Dustin just left before Max came to kill them. "Well, I guess there's nothing else we can do," I said. "Maybe Max could study with us?" Will then said. I looked at Will and then at Max. "You two are like the nerdiest people I know and I would never hang out on purpose with you two," Max said. Ouch. "But then again, we are already friends, you two are like the coolest, nicest and like most chill guys I know and I think I might actually consider studying if I'm with the two of you," she added.
And that's how Max also ended up studying with us the entire week. After school we would go straight to Will's where we would sit down and divide the chapters amongst each other and then explain your chapter to the others. That would be the easiest way. We would eat together and then, when it got late, Max would bike home and I would sleepover which was like the least of my problems. Considering problems, Max of course knew I was gay, and in love with Will. So that stuff almost leaked out a few times, but we managed to keep it a secret.
I'm probably going to try to end the story on a good note. Max was so eager to know whether she passed the test or not, so that friday we already knew whether or not we made it. Everyone passed except me. I was sad that I didn't make it I guess, but the sadness quickly vanished when I got to go to the movies again with Will, this time in the newly opened Starcourt Mall. We had a great day, and Will and I grew a bit closer again. But I was wondering, would Will still accept me for who I was, and. Was he in love with me too?

Castle Byers
- June 21st 1985
- Canonicity: Canon
Summer break. Have I ever told you how exciting and fun that is. Having to do nothing, no deadlines, no tests, no homework, just good old hanging out with friends. (And fighting Billy, The Mind Flayer and some random Russians in a week, but that's besides the point right now). Today I will take you to June 21st, exactly one week before we had the sneak preview at Day Of The Dead. It was a rainy day and I didn't know what to do. Now normally I'd just call the entire friendgroup. Will first, then Max, Mike, Lucas, Dustin and El. But Dustin was at summer camp so he wasn't available. Mike and El weren't either, they were always together and El wasn't allowed to go to crowded places. So it was just me, Will, Max and Lucas for the biggest part of the summer.
Today, the first thing I did was call Will, maybe he wanted to hangout today. To which he replied that he'd love to. "Great, so should I hit up Max and Lucas?" I asked Will. "I don't know, didn't they say they were going out together today, as some sort of gross romantic day," Will replied. That of course was his personality a bit, love was gross and something for older people. Looking back on it, that might've been a cover-up. "Yeah you're right," I said. "So what are we going to do?" I then asked. "Lets just meet up at Mirkwood, on bike, so we can just bike around town and stop at whatever we want to do," Will suggested. So I told him it was a great idea.
"Hey, over here!" I had already made my way to Mirkwood when Will arrived. "I'm sorry I'm a bit late, my mom was almost holding me hostage," Will said. "Why is that?" I asked as I started biking again. "Well she still doesn't trust me going out you know, after being lost and possessed, so of course she had to know every detail just so she can find me in case something goes wrong," Will said a bit angrily. "But she is looking out for you," I said. "Yeah but I'm not a baby anymore, and why should she know, you saved me last time, if you weren't there I would've killed her," Will said still angry. "Okay, that's true, but Will, trust me, she loves you okay, and she doesn't want to lose you, and there's a lot more people that care about you," I said. I don't know why but I just went for it I guess as I was kinda hinting at my crush on him. But I shouldn't, he didn't know I was gay, and maybe, he wouldn't treat me the same afterwards.
Those depressing thoughts really fit the rain right now. The rain, right now. I realized it had started raining. "Well what do we do now?" I asked Will. "Uh, I uh, I guess there's no choice, follow me!" Will said as he then turned straight towards the woods. So I of course followed and almost crashed my bike when we got inside the woods. The ground really wasn't meant for biking so I hopped off and followed Will who had also hopped off. After a while we reached a hut in the middle of the woods. It was still raining though. Will stopped right in front of the entrance. "I normally don't let people in except for my mom and Jonathan, but since there's not a choice right now, I guess you can come in," Will said after which he ducked and moved the blanket aside that was guarding the door. Above the door I read 'Castle Byers'. I stood outside for a bit to look at the hut and then got in. "Welcome to my safe space," Will said as I looked around. The hut was filled with blankets, pillows, pictures, comicbooks and of course Will's famous drawings. "It's amazing," I said as I was just amazed by how pretty it looked. Will smiled. Then I coughed out of nowhere. I realized I might've stood too long in the rain and was already suffering consequences. Will seemed to notice as he sort of forced me into a corner where he threw a blanket over me. "That's to keep you warm since that rain obviously got to you, and rather quickly I might add," Will said. "No, but, tell me about this place, Castle Byers," I said as I was curious. "Well, Jonathan and I built it during one of the fights my parents had, and since no one is allowed in, it's my safe space. A place where I, or anyone for that matter, can be theirselves," Will explained. "So, anyway, wanna read this comic issue together?" Will asked. "I haven't read it yet," he added. "Yeah, sure, I'd love to," I said. Will then sat down right next to me and I got a bit nervous.
Will and I started reading the comic. Will would read it out loud and create some funny voices for each of the characters. And when he couldn't think of something I would do one too. There were moments where one of us would say something, followed by a second of silence and then full on laughter. We laughed at lot with that comic. I was really enjoying my time with Will. I think we went through like eight comics at the spot. "The landing gear was broken so she wasn't able to safely land, she was going to crash," Will read with a sinister voice. "She crashed right onto the planet," Will continued. Then he closed the comic even though we were only halfway. "And then they all died and there was no story left to tell," Will then said in some sort of monotone news reporter voice after which we both once again broke down into laughter. "Maybe it's for the better, this one wasn't really a good one in my opinion," I confessed. "How can you hate this storyline, have you even read the following issues?" Will asked. "Yeah, but it's just a weird start!" I said and laughed my opinion away. It got quiet as Will started searching for more comics. I started thinking.
I was tired. Tired of keeping secrets. Will was there for me today. We had fun, and Castle Byers was an inviting environment where Will could be himself. Something even I hadn't really seen but saw glimpses of which no one else had ever. Will was himself here, and started to be himself around me. Causing me to no longer wanting to hide. I wanted to be myself with him too.
"Will," I then said as he turned towards me. Looking me dead in the eyes with his own beautiful eyes. "I have to tell you something," I said as I started to panic. My voice broke in the middle of that sentence which he heard because he seemed worried. "I, I have been struggling with this, for a while, and everyone sorta already kinda knows..." I continued awkwardly. I realized I had told everyone I liked Will, but that doesn't automatically make you gay. "But, I..." I started. "I... I'm gay," I then said after which a silence occurred. There I was, I had thrown myself out there, with the truth. And it was silent. I immediately started hating myself. I was wrong to tell him, he doesn't want to be my friend anymore.
But then Will threw himself at me, hugging me tight. "I don't care, you're still my friend, and you always will be," he said. I started crying and hugged him back. "It's okay," he said. But I just kept crying. Just like the rain outside Castle Byers.
"So, you want to read another comic?" Will asked as he went back to the pile of comics. "Yeah sure," I said and smiled. You know, it was a special moment, but I'm also glad we just moved on like nothing happened. "Well, I have X-Men 134 here, but that isn't really mine, I got it from Dustin when I was still in the hospital," Will explained as he got the comic. "Wait no way, that's literally the only one of the comics that I don't have, well, from the ones between 130 and 140!" I said. "No way, you have all the others?!" Will almost screamed from excitement. So naturally we immediately started reading it. I don't really recall anything that happened. But it had something to do with Phoenix and that she became the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club.
The story about Castle Byers were true. You could be yourself here. And no one would judge you. That's probably the moment where Will and I became the best of friends, which of course he had to allude to every once in a while. At the time I didn't know it yet. But in 9 days, we wouldn't be bestfriends anymore. We would be more than that.

A/N
Well that's all for this first batch, this time three stories because of the premiere. What did you think of it, what was your favorite story?
And to give you a bit of behind the scenes because that's fun.
Killer is the first part of the three part series which doesn't have a title but includes October's "Teens" and December's "Defeat".
Castle Byers was originally going to be "Chapter 20: The Case Of The Missing Lifeguard" rewritten, however it became the idea of Will and y/n spending a day a Castle Byers.
Another one on Castle Byers was that it originally wasn't included in the first ten stories, however I liked the idea so much that it made it's way to the first three.
That's all for this month sadly. I will see you all September 1st with the release of the second batch including:
- Jason's Jocks
- Escaping Troy
