Will Byers x Reader

Y/N is your name
F/F is your favourite food

Crying.

That's all you've been doing all day.

Nobody blames you though. After all, they had just found your best friend's body. You had been worried for days when reports of him missing had been shown on your TV. Now you were crying because the worst had happened.

Will Byers's body had been pulled out of a lake today. His funeral was tomorrow. You had received the time and place from Joyce and you canceled all plans you had made before the funereal so you could go.

Nothing was going to make you miss that funeral. A knock on the door snapped you out of your thoughts. "Y/N? I brought dinner." Your mom said, through the door.

She knew you would need some comfort so she made you F/F for dinner. You opened the door just enough to slip the plate in and closed it immediately after. You took one bite, before you burst into more tears.

Without Will, you were alone. Will was your only friend, and you had met through art programs at school. Both of you loved drawing, painting, sketching, anything artistic really.

Now he was gone.

Time skip one day

You were wearing a black dress, black coat, black gloves, black flats, and even a black hat.

You usually didn't like the colour black. You preferred to make your drawings colourful and bright, but today you saw no reason anything should be in colour.

You were standing by Will's grave, sobbing in the wave of people that had come out. You were standing by Jennifer Hayes, a blonde your age that Will had said was cute.

You couldn't help but smile thinking about Will's reaction to Jennifer being at his funeral.

"Wait until we tell Will that Jennifer Hayes was crying at his funeral." I heard somebody mumble. "Shut up!" A different voice answered, quietly.

I was confused and crying. The voices belonged to Dustin and Lucas, two of Will's close friends. What did they mean, tell Will?

Will was dead, and right in front of them. Surely they wouldn't kill themselves?

You brushed it off for the moment and kept crying.

Time skip 4 days

You were sitting in your room, staring blankly through your window. You hadn't smiled or laughed since Will's funeral. Heck, you haven't even left your room.

You heard the phone ring downstairs, but ignored it.

"Y/N! It's for you!" Your mom called. You ignored her.

"He says it's about Will!" She called again. Your eyes widened and you threw open the door, racing down the stairs. You practically lunged at the phone and put it to your ear. "What do you have to say about Will?" You say, coldly, get straight to the point.

"Well hello to you too." A voice says.

"Fine. Hi. Who are you?"

"My name is Doctor Reyes, and I work at Hawkins Hospital."

Now you were curious. "What's this about Will?"

"Yes. Uh, he's here in one of the recovery rooms, very much alive and-"

"What room?!" You demanded.

"Room 11." He replied.

"I'll be there as soon as I can." You hung up.

"Mom!" You shouted, "drive me to Hawkins Hospital! NOW!"

Your mom came down the stairs, looking cross. "Y/N, what's this about?"

"Will's alive!!" You were crying again, but this time it was happy tears. After a moment of confusion, your mom gasped and grabbed the car keys. "Get dressed and LETS GO." Your mom raced out to the car.

You let out a small smile. Mom's are great.

You race upstairs and change out of your pyjamas into a red and orange long sleeved shirt, and blue jeans, with multiple coloured paint stains on the right leg. You threw your hair into a ponytail and ran to the door. You put on some brown boots and ran out the door. Finally, you could see Will.

The drive was silent. Your mom was focused on the road, and you were trying to calm yourself.

After what seemed like hours, you leapt out of the car and dashed down the hall to room 11. You threw open the door, and there he was.

Will.

He was lying in a bed, with some cables hooked up here and there, and he was currently drawing something.

You silently closed the door, locked it and quietly spoke up. "Will?"

Will looked up, and smiled. "Y/N!" He was grinning. You ran towards Will, tackling him in a hug.

"Ow. Ow." He winced in pain. You immediately let go, apologizing over and over. "It's fine
Y/N." he laughed.

You were smiling so hard until you remembered the funeral.

"Where have you been?" You scream. WILL looks taken aback. "Y/N, I can explain-"

"You had better, William Byers! I was crying a river in my room the day you went missing. Not to mention there was a funeral Will! A freaking funeral!"

Will seemed confused
"They didn't mention that," Will muttered, "they only said Jennifer Hayes cried at my funeral."

You couldn't help but chuckle. "I missed you Will."

"I missed you too Y/N." Will said, grasping your hand. "That still doesn't explain the body I saw in the coffin."

"Uh, I'll be able to explain later. Hopefully."

You laughed and grabbed his hand, smiling.

Finally, everything was right. Or was it?
