Robin Buckley- Date (c)
When you first met Robin at band practice, you instantly were taken by her. She made you smile even without trying and you couldn't stop thinking about her until you were spending time with her again. You were too scared to admit how you felt though, not that you were trying to hide it, so you were going to make as many excuses as you could to spend time with her and hope that she noticed how you felt and felt the same.
Every Saturday you had made your way to Family Video, knowing she would be working there. You'd make excuses to speak to her and discuss movies that you both loved, along with getting her to give you recommendations, to prolong the conversation. This weekend it was no different. You had dressed up in something you hoped made you look good and headed into the store with your rental from the week prior, going straight up to the counter where Robin was stood.
"Hey Y/N," she smiled. "You're fifteen minutes early."
You did normally turn up at the same time every week, but you were just too excited to see her to wait around at home.
"I didn't have anything to do this morning, so I thought I'd come by and get my weekly recommendation from you."
She took the tape from you, discarding it behind the counter to sort later.
"Well, we've just got Labyrinth in, and I've only heard good things about it," she suggested, gesturing to the tape displayed on the front of the counter.
"Have you seen it?" You asked.
She shook her head. "I want to, but I've not had a chance yet. I'm sure it's going to be amazing though."
Her colleague, Steve made his way over to stand beside her, unknown to you, having listened to the whole interaction and having become sick of the two of your hopelessly interacting but never admitting your feelings to one another.
"That's a shame isn't it Robin," he said with a dramatic sigh. "We've only got the one copy left."
She went to say something, but he waved a hand in her face to stop her.
"If only there was a way that you could both watch that copy," he sighed, darting his eyes between you and her.
The reddened state of Robin's cheeks and the fact that you started to mutter random syllables, you hoped that was the sign you had been looking for to tell you that she felt the same way about you.
"Well, I wasn't going to watch it until tonight, so maybe I could pick you up after your shift and we could go back to mine to watch it and maybe get dinner?" You offered. "Maybe like a date?"
A goofy grin overtook her face.
"Y-yeah," she said, struggling to keep her eyes connected to yours. "I would love that."
"Um... I guess I'll see you then."
You smiled and headed to leave the store, repeatedly peering back over your shoulder to get one more look at her, not realising that you hadn't picked up the VHS you were planning to watch together.
