Part 4

Dawn woke up early the next day and due to their sleeping arrangement, pretty much the fact there was only one bed and not much other furniture, she fully expected Don to still be asleep right beside her. They didn't done anything, granted she did let Don kiss her and it was one of the best kisses she had ever experienced in her life but there was no way that she would ever tell him that. Looking over at Don's side of the bed she was surprised to see he was not there. Looking around the room she saw that the door to the room was wide open. Curious she put on her robe and went to the main room of the tiny apartment.

There in the kitchen she saw Don was reading what looked to be a cooking book while doing something off to the side. Was he making breakfast? Did aliens even need breakfast like humans did? More questions just came popping into her head as she made her way up to him.

"Oh did you sleep well?" Don asked as he noticed her and paused his activities so her could make eye contact with her.

"Yeah, you didn't knock me out with a kiss again did you? Dawn asked knowing he didn't.

"No, my kiss was only a kiss I did not use any pressure points on you." Don said with a small smile.

Dang it that smile of his was enough to make her heart race even if it was only for a split second. After the somewhat burnt breakfast Don and Dawn made their way downstairs to the coffee shop where she assisted Don in opening the shop. Still she needed to do other re search and see what Ozzie's full story was. Just then Kelly walked into the shop and right to the counter where Don was waiting to take orders and she didn't look happy. Sighing Dawn made her way to Don just as Kelly was about to start something.

"It's you...I swear you were the guy I slept with...we danced and then went back to my place." Kelly started until Dawn came up and kissed Don's cheek. "You...and him?"

"I'm not the man you are talking about, I have been in love with this woman since I first laid eyes on her." Don said as he looked to Dawn who smiled as he took her hands in his and kissed them. "Dawn and I use to know one another and I revealed my long time crush on her to her and she has given me a chance."

Dawn kept silent since she really didn't know what to say or how Kelly would take the news.

"Your right, you couldn't be him. You don't smell like lavender, you smell like your girlfriend." Kelly said with a sigh and then left the coffee shop.

"You better not be stealing my shampoo." Dawn said looking right at Don.

"I did not steal, I shall repay you." Don retorted as Dawn rolled her eyes.

"I have to go meet Ozzie, I'll be back later so just keep acting... well human." Dawn said with a shrug and turned to leave.

"Wait, you have to kiss me, people are watching." Don said stopping Dawn and making her look at him.

Dawn knew he was right and since people were watching she would give them a show. Smiling she went to Don and began to kiss him as passionately as she could. Don held onto her tightly to make sure neither of them would fall over. Pulling away Dawn smiled.

"See you tonight honey." Dawn told Don and took off out of the coffee shop.

Don was still speechless but went back and took his spot behind the counter. With his fingertips he touch his lips where Dawn had just given him one of the most amazing kisses he had ever expirenced.

"If I were you son, I'd marry that one before she gets away." An older man told Don as he paid his bill. "If she doesn't love you then she is one heck of an actress."

Don thought about what the man said as he gave him the change. Dawn did kiss him very differently than when he had kissed her. It was as though she wanted to make the kiss last longer. Nodding in agreement with the old man Don looked out just in time to see Dawn meet up with Ozzie at the news office across the street from the coffee house.

"Yes, one day perhaps she will fully accept me." Don said with a long sigh.

"Get her a ring then, a diamond one, not many women can resist that." The old man laughed as he left the coffee house.

A ring? Don questioned why Dawn would want a ring. However if that is what he had to do to get her favor then he would. Thinking this would be something Jeff might like to hear Don left one of the others in charge of the coffee shop and made a quick trip back to the ship.

"A ring? Why would she want something like that?" Jeff questioned as he barely looked up from his computer.

"I am not sure, the old man did not explain fully but he said that not many women can resist a ring." Don replied with a shrug.

"Well then, get her one. That will earn her favor and make things easier for you two to blend in." Jeff replied not really understanding the logic of giving a ring.

"It costs human money, I walked by a ring story and they cost in the thousands. Jeff I do not have that much earth money." Don admitted as he walked right up to Jeff.

"Take some out of the storage then, don't remind me I let you do this either." Jeff waved Don off as he went back to his work but remembered something. "Oh I need you to complete the deletion process of the blonde one; Kelly I believe her name is."

Dawn had just finished her interview with Ozzie and since she knew about the aliens now a lot more things seemed to make sense while others just made her think that Jeff just liked to screw around with human. Using the key Don gave her she made her way to the small apartment wondering if Don was asleep already or maybe waiting up to her. She didn't expect the interview to take all day. Opening the door she was very surprised to see no lights on or anything.

"Don?" Dawn asked as she walked into the room. "Are you here?"

No reply as she turned around and shut the door behind her. It was weird that he wasn't at the coffee shop and now not at the apartment either. Shrugging she made her way to the bed where she took out her computer and note book. She began to type out her notes on the computers. A long while had passed when she finally heard the door open again the but the sight before her was not the one she was expecting. Walking out to the main room she saw Kelly supporting Don and trying to sit him down.

"What the?" Dawn asked as she went to them.

"He had too much to drink, he just needs to sleep it off." Kelly laughed also clearly drunk.

"Stay away from him." Dawn said as she guided Kelly to the door. "If not I will make sure you will regret the day you ever saw him."

With that Dawn slammed the door in Kelly's face. Going back to Don she didn't know what to think with him all happy and giggling like a school girl. He tried to touch her and hold her close to him which she managed to avoid.

"Don...why? I don't get it." Dawn questioned.

"Had to erase her memory, I drank a lot and then she brought me back here. Jeff said it would be easy but Kelly did not want to forget." Don laughed as Dawn led him to the bed.

"I swear dealing with you is like dealing with a drunk college kid." Dawn sighed disappointedly.
