Part 1

Dawn thought of herself as typical girl, something she was sure that most women did. Most of her life she was not only friends but coworkers with Ozzie. After finding out that he had quit his job and moved to Beacon she went to her boss to see what had happened and if there was anything she could do to help. What she didn't expect what to be sent to Beacon herself and come back with the last story Ozzie was supposed to write before he had decided to quit his job. Dawn was a very capable writer and was already willing to help with the article especially if she could talk to Ozzie herself and find out the real story with her own ears.

Quickly texting Ozzie about her new assignment, she thought that he might be mad at her or even confused but she was happy when the text she got back was one more of excitement then anything. Apparently, it was true that Ozzie had moved to Beacon and told her he was currently living in a hotel, the same thing she would sort of be doing since she had no thoughts of staying in the town permanently.

Dawn continued to text Ozzie as she packed and then got on her bus that would take her to Beacon. She was letting him know she was now the one who was to go to the support groups and finish the report on them. Ozzie was willing to talk to the group before she got there and make sure it was alright with them but also let her know he didn't see them having a problem with it since she was his friend. After finishing her last text, she decided to sleep the rest of the bus ride.

"Beacon!" the driver called out waking Dawn from her sleep.

Standing up she grabbed her only bag and headed for the door of the bus. Stepping outside to the small-town Dawn felt like she had stepped into a small town from a Hallmark movie. Shrugging her shoulders, she put her carrier bag around her and decided to look around the town and with permission of the shop owners even take a few pictures. The people were friendly to her and smiles as she walked by. Keeping her light green military style jacket closed because she was a little cold she spotted a coffee shop across the way.

Walking through the cross walk to the other side of the road she decided to text Ozzie and let him know she was here. Just as she entered the coffee shop she was nudged to the side by a woman with short blonde hair who didn't seem to be happy at that moment judging by the scowl on her face. Shaking her head she looked up and walked inside to see the employee not looking too happy either.

"Everyone here always so friendly?" Dawn mumbled not expecting anyone to hear her as she took a few steps forward and looked at the menu.

"She's just not having a good week, or something like that." A man with long blonde hair pulled up into some weird man bun said as Dawn looked up and read his name tag.

"Don." She giggled recognizing how similar his name sounded to hers.

"You find something humorous?" the man inquired making Dawn do a double take of his face.

"Sorry, it's just our names sound a lot alike, I'm Dawn by the way." She said offering her hand to him to shake.

"Yeah, they do sound quite similar." Don said as he shook her hand slowly kind of creeping her out. "Can I get you anything Miss Dawn?"

Dawn smiled as he released her hand and looked back to the menu. To be honest she wasn't a big fan of coffee but instead smoothies. They didn't have a very good variety though so she just decided to order a French Vanilla cappuccino. That was her go to coffee since it was the only kind she remembered and it tasted good to her.

Just then Ozzie came into the coffee shop and smiling went right up to Dawn and hugged her. She smiled returning the hug.

"Dawn, thank goodness someone I can trust and talk to about anything." Ozzie said as he pulled out of the hug and looked down at his long time friend.

"What else are friends for?" Dawn questioned as she crossed her arms. "Did the group said it was ok if I sit in on a meeting?"

"Oh yeah, they are actually kinda excited to meet you. You will probably hear about everyone's experience and make sure you call them exactly that, experiences." Ozzie said unaware that Don was listening to everything he and Dawn were saying.

As Don was making the coffee the new girl Dawn had ordered he listened to her conversation with one of the most recent subjects that Jeff had told was special. That was something that the aliens had told everyone that had ever talked to, experimented or just interreacted with. Though now he couldn't talk to Kelly again since not only had she flat out told him no but she didn't want anything to do with him. Now though there was another girl. A certain strawberry blonde, average height, fair skin, freckles and the most beautiful pair of blue/ green eyes he had ever seen. He had to admit there was definitely something about her that made him want to learn more about her.

"Here you go." Don said putting her drink on the counter.

Dawn turned around and smiled at Don and something inside of him felt completely drawn to her.

"Thanks, how much do I owe you?" Dawn asked as she went to pull out her wallet.

"No charge, it's on the house." Don said with a smile as he looked deep into her eyes.

Taking the drink Dawn could feel herself blush a little and once she felt her hand brush up against his she had a feeling she would be coming to the coffee shop a lot more while she was here in Beacon.

"Thanks, Don." She replied as she took the coffee and drank a small sip.

"You're welcome Dawn." Don replied happy that their names sounded so similar.

Ozzie and Dawn went off to a corner of the coffee shop where Ozzie began to explain what had happened to not only him but a few of the other stories he had heard in group. Of course he didn't tell her everything because he knew the others would want to tell the stories themselves. After finishing at least his experience he waited to hear Dawn's reaction.

"So, you see talking deer and apparently, there was a piece of metal in your head that has now disappeared and you think this might all be the working of aliens?" Dawn questioned as she looked at her friend who looked like he had just awoken from a bad dream.

"It's a possibility." Ozzie replied with a shrug.

"Right, did you happen to ask if the Aliens help build the Pyramids as well?" Dawn asked trying t lighten the mood.

"You know, I actually totally forgot to ask that." Ozzie asked happy she was trying to lighten the mood and even make a joke. "I'll be sure to ask if they happen to beam me up again.''

Dawn laughed as she finished her coffee. Ozzie continued to explain about his first article that he had written and why he just moved to Beacon all of the sudden and started working for some local paper.

"Ok, well you know me, I give everything a chance. So let's see what can be made of this story." Dawn said as she stood up and went right to the counter taking her empty coffee cup to Don. "Best cup ever."

Dawn smiled as she turned and left the coffee shop with Ozzie, heading to the hotel so she could take a small nap before she went to meet the rest of the group and hear all the stories that they were willing to tell her. Don watched as she walked out and her long beautiful hair blew in the wind. He couldn't help but watch her as she made her way down the side walk waving to him one last time before he couldn't see her again. For a human, she was something he hadn't seen before. She had a sense of humor right from the start and was willing to give any story a chance, even one about aliens who it seem like she clearly didn't believe in at least for now. Sighing he looked down at her empty coffee glass to see not lipstick but lip gloss on the cup resembling her smile. Smiling he picked up the glass but felt sad that it had to be washed off.

Dawn sat in lay asleep in her room trying to get a little sleep. Unknown to her the other alien Jeff had already heard about her from other alien sources and decided he too wanted to know more about the girl. Picking up the weird phone he had he decided to try to get Don to get her sometime soon, preferably after the group meeting tonight with the others he had already met. After the first ring Jeff was surprised to hear Don pick up.

"Oh, finally you figured how to pick up a freaking phone!" Jeff said into the phone with a stern voice.

"What is it you need Jeff?" Don replied with a sigh.

"The new girl, she's the next one, seduce her whatever you did with the last two but bring her here so I can take a good look at her." Jeff explained as he walked about the ship.

"Dawn? Why do you show an interest in her?" Don questioned.

"She's the only red haired girl in this town and we haven't picked up one of them since 1967, I need a good sample of her DNA and find that darn gene that makes her hair red." Jeff began to explain the process to Don.

"You won't hurt her will you?" Don asked all the sudden stopping Jeff's speech.

"No, it's a simple blood test, I can find the gene through her DNA. Why do you ask?" Jeff now asked intrigued why Don would want to know if the human would be hurt.

"No reason, I'll do what I can." Don said then ended the call and hung his head.

"That one is way too sensitive." Jeff said to no one as he sat down the phone and looked to his computer. "He's probably gonna fall for this one too, oh that's jus- just sad."

Don looked out the window of the coffee house as he was cleaning it a few hours later to find Dawn in new clothes now. She wore a knee length skirt that was grey and a dark green sweater with long grey boots. Her hair was half back like he usually wore his. He didn't expect her to see him but when he saw her look over at him and smile he felt that odd feeling again. Don slowly waved to Dawn who laughed and waved back at him before she continued walking down the side walk, following the path to the church.

"She's pretty ain't she." A customer said as he walked to the door right beside the window Don was cleaning. "Bet she could use a little company too."

Another two men walked up and nudged their friend encouraging him and for some reason that made Don angry and he wanted to stop them men and make sure they wouldn't go anywhere near Dawn. He felt protective of her even though he had just met her a few hours ago. He didn't want anyone to touch her expect him and that included the men before him.

Jeff was busy working on a few things in the lab when he heard the lab starting up and a bright light appear and three human men appear on the tables where they examined the humans. Looking up he saw a grumpy Don in all white with his arms crossed over her chest.

"Care to explain?" Jeff asked as he looked completely confused.

"Can we turn them into females?" Don asked earning a shocked look from Jeff.
