75. Far Away

A month has passed and no one heard from the soft brown head girl who left the home abruptly without a word.

To say Parker was devastated would have been an understatement. He was at least expecting Maya to reach out to him ensuring him that she is doing all right. After a couple of frustrating talk with Hoseok, Parker came to peace, understanding the rationale behind Maya's action.

"Are you sure you didn't know where she is right now?" Jimin asked as he was cuddling Parker, back in Jimin's home, in Seoul.

"No idea. I miss her so much. Hoseok told me to not question further." Parker sniffled. Tonight was one of the nights where the purple heart aches with an empty heart, missing his soul friend.

"I wish she would have just reached out to you or something. I miss her too." Jimin sighed.

"Jiminie, do you think she is doing ok?" Parker tilted his head up, expecting some comforting words from his boyfriend.

"She is a tough cookie Parker, I'm sure Maya will be alright. I can't say the same for Taehyung though." Jimin said, feeling very concerned for his cousin brother.

Since the day which Taehyung spotted Maya in Hoseok's arms at Brother's Cafe, he was broken into many pieces. Tae did not wait for another minute before storming out, back home and left LA for good, returning to his family home in Rochester.

Although it was not the place he wanted to be in, as the home he now stays screams of Maya's memories at each corner he turns. Taehyung just wanted to be away from everyone.

A month has passed since the day Taehyung left. Although he did call back occasionally, still kept his part of the work for VC's expansion in place, the cousin brothers did not hear from him thereafter.

Taehyung completely shut out his personal life, not wanting it to be exposed to his family and friends. Tucked away in Rochester, Taehyung fell into the trap of consoling himself with his familiar way of coping, which is getting intoxicated on his free will.

He decided sleeping around was not helping him at any point, for all he could think about when he touches a woman is Maya. Every single detail in Maya's body was engraved into his mind like a permanent scar that he is unable to see another girl under him, squirming without feeling the pain of the reality that it's not Maya.

On the other hand, Hoseok was back to his usual self, hiding his anticipation and sorrow each time he passes by Maya's office cabin, not being able to see the familiar Chindian girl. He misses her so much.

Hoseok knew that this is what they all needed, some space to breathe. He just hopes that on a day that Maya decides to finally return, she will be happier than she left.

.

"Hello?" Parker answered, picking up the call from Hoseok as he was finishing his work at the VC HQ, in Seoul.

"Hey Parker, how have you been?"

"Great boss! If I can lie." Parker said bitterly.

"Parker, I know it's been 2 months since she left, you need to move on." Hoseok said from the other side.

"Hoseok, you and I both know that I love her so much. My head is going ballistic not knowing where she is right now and how is she doing."

"I know. I told her to get a short trip away but I wasn't expecting her to leave us for 2 whole months now." Hoseok growled, his frustration slowly catching up."

"With no due harshness boss but you're pretty dumb for giving her such freedom. She literally left like kaboom when you asked her to leave." Parker groaned.

"Parker."

"I told you, I respect you but honestly you were not smart when you asked her to leave." Parker pressed the phone closer to his ears and rolled his eyes, although Hoseok can't see it he surely can feel it through the tone of the purple head's voice.

"Now what are we gonna do smarty pants?" Hoseok scoffed back.

"Well for a starter, try to track her down."

"Parker, I'm not a freaking intelligent FBI agent. How am I supposed to do that?"

"Ha! Knew it, of coz you're not. You know why? They are not as dumb as you to ask Maya to take a break, basically asking her to leave without knowing where she was heading to."

"Parker, I swear to God, you're making me frustrated, I know I did ask her to leave but at that time I just wanted her to relax."

"You could have booked her a spa treatment at Beverly Hills or something genius, not ask her to go away."

"Sigh, can we stop arguing about this?"

Parker stayed silent, unsure why was he picking a fight with Hoseok in the first place.

"I'm sorry Hoseok, I'm just in a terrible mood coz I'm worried for her. She didn't look good at the time she was leaving."

Hoseok nodded, he was aware of how broken Maya was. Across the 2 months since Maya's departure, Hoseok has compromised himself that perhaps Maya will never be his. He did love the girl with all his heart but something picked the corner of his heart each time he notices the changes in Maya when she speaks about Taehyung.

Maya never got that excited confronting him about how she feels for him like she did for Taehyung. If the pair were fated to meet each other after 8 whole years, Hoseok does not want to be the breaker of destiny.

Realizing he was losing in thoughts again, Hoseok sighed and voiced out.

"How can we track her then?"

"I maybe have a plan in mind, but that involves you too." Parker grinned.

"Speak."

"You need to get Taehyung."

"What? PARKER! Are you out of your fucking mind? Why would I ask my rival for Maya to help me to find her?"

"Geez Hoseok, for once, our concern right here is Maya. Someone needs to get to her and I believe Taehyung would be the best person. Like it or not, that man has a magnet that can attract him right to Maya."

Hoseok rubbed his forehead, he can't completely disagree with Parker on this.

"I don't want to talk to him."

"You need to!" Parker said in a stern voice.

"Hoseok, listen to me. I think we both know deep down our hearts that Maya and Taehyung are meant for one another. I know she said she likes you and she is thinking about it. But honestly Hoseok, I think you can agree with me that it will always be Taehyung for Maya."

Parker felt like a complete asshole for saying it but he wanted to be honest and truthful, for this involves her best friend.

A minute went by in complete silence. Parker started to regret his blunt honesty when he heard Hoseok clearing his throat from the other side.

"You're right."

"Huh?" Parker's eyes widened. He took the phone off his ears to check that he was still speaking to Hoseok. It was still indeed stating the caller ID as 'Jung HoeBoss'.

"Um say what again?" Parker restated.

"I said you're right Parker. I just made things hard for Maya by asking her to choose. I should have known better."

"Hoseok, first and foremost, you had no clue about Maya's past nor did you expect it to be the handsome devil himself, Taehyung. So, don't beat yourself up, plus Maya did like you Hoseok."

"If and only if Taehyung didn't step back into his life." Hoseok grumbles on his ill-fated life as well.

"Hoseok, let's just keep the topic for another day. I understand how you must be feeling but I guess we all just deeply care for Maya. So for now, we need to focus on finding her. Which means, mission Maya needs its captain, Mr V."

Hoseok agreed and discussed a few more things before ending the call with him by saying, "I'll book a flight for us, meet me in Rochester with his brothers."

He ended the call with Parker with a clearer head, knowing precisely what is he ought to do to bring Maya back. Not for him, but for her own good with the man she loves.

"I will always love you Maya, just a little differently this time."

He wiped away the tears in his eyes with a soft smile lingering on his lips, anticipating the day to finally meet Maya again. But first, he need to make ammend with Taehyung and that involves him to have a heart to heart talk with the said man.
