59. Empty Heart

The light of the dawn leaked into the cosy room. Accompanied by the melodic birdsong, Maya rubbed her bleary eyes, welcoming a new day.

Last night was faint and fuzzy. She woke up with a proper soreness in between her thighs and allowed the hues of the morning light to faintly highlight the numerous love marks on her body.

"Bloody hell." She squeezed her thighs together, cover her mouth, gasping for air.

Maya was still naked under her cover. She turned her head around and properly spent a good 5 minutes trying to catch any sound indication of a second person at her home, which resulted in none.

"He left?"

She pouted, totally hating the emptiness beside her, the coldness replaced by the fake warmth of the sun instead of the man she was expecting. Maya's brain did a tumble and pinned the fact that Hoseok actually might have left to catch his flight.

"Ah, it's 8 AM now. He must have left for his flight."

Maya smiled weakly, as she took her phone from the bedside table, checking for any possible messages.

Her disappointment was clear when she didn't find any texts from Hoseok. Only a missed call at 830 PM last night when she was in the shower. but then, the rest went down in history when she walked out and they had sex.

Maya really wishes she was in a sober condition when they finally had sex together. She is deeply embarrassed for getting highly tipsy and borderline drunk after showering for she can't remember much of Hoseok's face and expression while making love to her.

She even face-palmed herself for only remembering how he touched her, fucking reminded her of a certain dirty blond head instead. To be fair, Maya was never fucked by anyone else. So naturally, her instinct was to compare her first time with Hoseok against Tae's.

To her utmost horror, their touches felt the same to her.

Not trying to get herself aroused and deep in thought of having sex with either one of the handsome men, Maya quickly walked with a mouthful of curses into the shower, scrubbing herself clean.

The day went by as she moved around the house dressed in nothing but just huge pair of shirt as her waist down still hurts a little from the friction and rummages by the man who took her into a wild ride last night.

Maya never would have believed how wild can Hoseok get with making love, but guess it is what it is as evidence sprawled through her body, making her ache.

.

Fast forward the day before the launching of Big Hit, Maya was pulling an all-nighter to settle some files and meetings on behalf of Hoseok while the male was busy over his business trip, not even having the chance to contact the girl since the moment he left her.

Maya's heart grew fonder for him as she started to ache and miss Hoseok terribly. Her withdrawal symptoms were hitting the ceilings as she keeps reminiscing back the night where they had sex but nothing solid was formed in her memories.

For some odd reason, it felt like a dream to her and worse part, her memories keep tricking her into recalling Taehyung instead of Hobi.

"Maya, are you done with the file? I can take a copy of it and send it over to the team." Lily waved a stack of filed while Maya was busy typing in her email.

"Hold on a sec." She clicked sent and looked up from her laptop.

"That's the file for VC?"

Lily nodded. It's pretty much done and now all she has to do is safe keep it for future reference.

"Keep it aside, I will have Parker deal with it when he is here." Maya continued her work.

"Maya."

Lily looked at the Chindian girl, face dropping into concerns. For the past week, Maya never left the office until it strikes midnight and the first thing she knows, by 7 AM, the Chindian girl is already in her office room, working and working.

"Maya, hello?"

"Yea hello?" Maya accidentally took the phone to her ears, dumbfounded when she noticed it was Lily calling her out, not someone across the line.

"Fucking hell. I'm such a dumb ass." Maya growled, chuckling at the end when Lily laughed out loud at her antics.

"Yes Lily? Anything else?"

"You wanna grab dinner with me?" The blond girl suggested.

"I'm sorry, I can't. I just need to polish this bit here..." Maya was swirling her index finger in front of her laptop, signalling the floor model she needed to refine.

"It's Friday night. It's 9 PM on a Friday night, come on. Those damn floors can wait." Lily sat down opposite her.

"I need to get it done for Hoseok."

"Trust me, he is gonna be feral when he finds out you're working around the clock for the past week and not taking care of your meals. I can snitch you out to him you know." Lily showed a bitchy face, trying to act dramatic.

"Don't you dare!"

"Then chop chop, let's have a take out at mine? Besides, what are you even wearing for the launching tomorrow?" Lily asked, already prepared to leave.

"Grrr, I hate you. Don't even remind me about it. I have nothing ready for tomorrow night." Maya felt defeated. Not only she almost forgot to prepare for the troops' arrival tomorrow morning. She even forgot about the launching.

"See, sometimes you need a certain guardian angel in your life. We can have some Chinese take-out and shopping in my closet. Walaaa, with some glasses of champagnes, just like you have it in a luxury store."

Lily quickly rushed to Maya's side as she assisted the Chindian girl to pack and shut her laptop, escorting her out of Gardler.

.

"Now tell me that Chow Mien was not worth the bunking we did from work?" Lily let out a satisfying burp as they settled down in her bedroom after walloping the takeaways.

"You might have a point there. I'm so stuffed." Maya looked at her belly which was sticking out like she was 3 months pregnant.

"Time for some tryouts baby!" Lily's energy never seemed to deflate and that surprises Maya.

It's only been a short time since Lily joined Gardler, but Maya can tell she is here to stay and definitely a gem of a talent. Reminding the Chindian girl on her first couple of years in Gardler, so enthusiastic and youthful.

"I can't possibly fit into your clothes. You look like a model. I am only 168 cm tall, and I wear a size 6 to 8."

"Bold of you to assume and judge me by my size. How disappointing." Lily dramatically waved her hair back.

Maya laughed at this and got herself comfortable on the bed while Lily walked in and out of the closet, bringing in a handful of dresses, wrapped neatly in plastics.

"Are they yours? They don't look like it." Maya straightened herself as she peeked through a number of selections now laid out on the bed as Lily added more on top of it.

"They used to be my sisters. She is no longer here."

"Oh, she moved out?" Maya asked as she took an emerald colour dress with a huge flower around the collar, acting like a choker.

"She died."

Maya's face dropped. How could she be so insensitive and stupid?

"I'm so sorry Lily. I didn't know." Maya neatly placed the dress back, not wanting to be a douche for taking something that belongs to Lily's late sister.

"Don't be silly Maya. She passed away 4 years ago, a survivor of cancer but eventually gave up. She did fight to her very last breathe." Lily said it with a smile, hiding the pain arising within.

"I'm sure she is a fighter, Just like her little sister." Maya bopped Lily's nose and gave the blond girl a comforting hug.

"So, it's in the past. Besides, I don't fit her dresses. I'm a size 4. You can have any of hers that you like. Moreover, you're another sister to me." Lily said.

This statement caught Maya by the heart as she never had any close relationship with her relatives or extended family like ever. Lily treated her like a big sister and that was more than the deal-breaker for Maya to not disappoint her request.

"Fine, but I am paying rental for these dresses k?"

"Mhm, only if you managed to keep them intact after the launching." Lily winked, getting back to her usual goofy self.

"What do you mean?" Maya narrowed her eyes at the younger.

"Oh come on. I might only be 25 and brain is developing to the fullest in 2 months but I am not blind. You and Hoseok. I know." Lily wiggled her brows.

"Lily-..."

"You were still wincing when you walked and neck with fading hickeys when you came in on Monday morning. Tell me he didn't wreck you." Lily challenged, suddenly looking older than her age.

"That...um..."

"Yea precisely. Although, I thought he went home directly that night to prepare for his flight the next day. He was rushing like mad, I guess he just couldn't resist saying bye to you."

Maya raised her brows, Hoseok was going back home but stopped by to see her? He was in a rush but the night they made love, he didn't seem like he was.

"I guess so..." Maya answered, missing the raven head for he has been uncontactable for the past one week.

"Lily, did he perhaps contacted you since he flew off?"

"He did but not directly though. I received emails from his PA. Hoseok is swamped, he is accompanying his father and never able to rest well even for a minute so if you're guessing why he has been silent then most probably due to the workload."

Maya nodded, pressing her lips into a thin smile. Good, at least Hoseok is not ignoring her on purpose, he is just busy. He should be, right?
