Sunghoon scoffed at Jake's text in utter annoyance, his thumbs beginning to go to work on his phone screen. He was completely engrossed in his phone trying to think of a smart remark to make to Jake until he felt a jolt on his arm, knocking him off balance and dropping his phone.

"Sorry!" A soft and gentle voice spoke.

Sunghoon looked up from the ground that held his phone to the girl standing in front of him. He couldn't believe it. There was no way Alana was standing right in front of him, let alone with her friend.

For a split second it felt as if time had froze. Sunghoon's heart began to beat a bit faster and his palms began to sweat. His mind raced with explanations for what he would say if she recognized him. I'm sorry, I've never seen you before. Sorry, who are you? Watch where you're going. I don't know you. His heart began to beat faster and his palms began to drench in sweat. Alana blinked, momentarily taken aback by the sudden bump. Sunghoon held his breath. Every second stretching into eternity. His eyes darted nervously around her and her friend. He quickly adjusted his cap lower in hopes that maybe that would help him. The atmosphere around him began to blur and the fairly noisy street faded away focusing on the girls reactions.

Alana and Isa exchanged a quick, puzzling look. There was a flicker of recognition in their eyes. Sunghoon swears his heart dropped to his ass. You don't know me. I have no idea who you two are. What are you looking at? Isa opened her mouth, her eyes narrow and her head tilts. Sunghoon's stomach churns. This is it. Jake is going to kill him.

"Hey, don't I—" Isa starts, her gaze slowly moving across his nose and lips which happen to be the only visible parts of his face thanks to the cap.

Sunghoon's knees buckle and he's practically ready to beg for forgiveness and try to convince them to pretend like this never happened. Please don't tell Jake you saw me. I'll do anything. He's gonna fucking kill me.

Isa quickly shakes her head. "Nevermind." She whispers.

Sunghoon lets himself breathe, his shoulders relax and his eyes close. Thank fuck.

Alana smiles politely, sensing the uncomfortable environment that Sunghoon had unintentionally created between the girls. "Sorry." Alana goes to pick up his phone from the ground but Sunghoon's shoe stops her.

Sunghoon coughs. "I got it."

Alana straightens up, adjusting her jacket and tucks in her lips as she tries to not look at Isa knowing that if she does she'll laugh. "Sorry about that." Alana glances at him.

Sunghoon quickly manages a shaky nod hoping that's enough to shoo the girls away, his nerves still at an all time high. Alana and Isa continue their walk and small, soft giggles are heard as they get further from him.

Sunghoon finally lets himself breathe and quickly picks up his phone from the ground, not caring if there are any cracks. He turns the corner and lets out a deep breath from relief. Neither of the girls recognized him. He felt like a miracle was on his side.

"Jake's going to kill me." He whispered to himself, continuing his walk home.
