Emily's POV.

Today was the day we were going to get it out of him. No more headaches or nightmares. I called the party over the walkie and told them the plan. We were to meet at my house because my mom had already left for work so the house was empty. They all agreed and said they would pick each other up on the way over.

I sat in my living room waiting it would be a while till they got here. I was nervous I didn't know what to do or think. I was scared. I wanted all this stupid crap to be over.

And not just for my sake but for the rest of the party and Dustin and Hopper. I wonder how Hopper was dealing with this I hadn't really asked him.

I knock came from the door. I stood up and answered it. El and Mike stood in the doorway. "Hey guys" I said letting them in.

"Hi" El said to me.

Mike was holding her hand. Probably because she was nervous out of her mind. We all walked back to the living room and sat down. "How have you been?" Mike asked me.

"Other then all the craziness ok" I said. He nodded.

"How are you doing...dad wise?" He asked. How did he know about my dad.

"How'd you kn—-"

"It was on the news" he said.

"Oh....I'm ok I don't see him a ton anyway so I don't really notice" I said.

"Ya my dads like that to,I mean he always home. But not really there" he said looking at the ground a bit.

"Mike" I said wanting to change the subject for both of our sakes.

"What's your favorite D&D monster?" I asked. His face lit up at the mention of the game.

"Ummmm probably....the Demagorgen or the lathiathin" he said. I nodded

"Those are good ones" I replied. Then there was a awkward silence. It was making me uncomfortable.

Lucky a knock at the door stoped it from getting worse. I let Lukas and Max in. They said hi and went to the living room as well.

"I bet you Dustin's going to get here with Steve" Lukas said. Everyone else nodded.

"What is with you guys and Steve?" I asked.

They didn't answer "Steve means a lot to Dustin and me ok!" They all jumped back a little at my tone.

"He's like a big brother to us!" I yelled.

"Em calm down!" Lukas said.

"No it's not ok that you guys do that to us. Dustin feels really bad when you guys tease him about hanging out with Steve" I got up and stormed outside. Not even waiting for them to give a response. I decided to take a small walk. I went around my house and into the patch of woods. Even though we had gone through a lot in the woods. I still liked them.

They were soothing to me. I heard a branch break. I spun around to nothing. Then I heard another. I was on alert now. Something was following me.

I was deep in the woods at this point so I decided to turn back. Again I heard the breaking of a branch and again spun around. Only this time I saw what it was.

It was a dog. A huge dog. Looked like a German Shepherd it was growling at me baring it's teeth. I knew that running would be pointless so I stood up taller and waved my arms making sure not to look it in the eyes.

I yelled at him to go away back home. But he just kept growling. Ok that didn't work next best thing would be to bok it to a tree but there were non with low enough branches here.

I guess I'll have to run. I quickly spun on my heel and ran. Ran as fast as I could back towards my house.

Then I tripped my foot got caught on a tree root. And I twisted it I couldn't get up I laid there on the ground. The dog coming towards me. He was hunched and ready to jump on me.

And he did he jumped and grabbed onto my arm. A scream came from my lungs as the dog bit onto my arm shaking it like a toy not letting go. I kicked the dog and yelled at him. But it was no use he didn't let go.

"EMILY!" I heard my name being called.

"HELP!" I screamed back I didn't know who it was or where they were but it was someone.

The he came out of nowhere from behind me. With a big stick and started hitting the dog. My vision was black around the edges my arm was bleeding a lot i can't even describe the pain. The dog eventually let go and ran off whimpering as he yelled at it and hit it with the stick.

My eyelids felt heavy. I wanted to sleep. "Emily" I heard my name. I opened my eyes a bit to see lite blue eyes and dark brown curls.

"Stay awake ok" he told me. But my body wanted rest. I watched as he took off his jacket.

"I need to stop the bleeding" he said I nodded he slowly lifted my arm. Pain shot up my shoulder. I gritted my teeth through as he tied the jacket around my arm.

Then I felt his hands slip under my legs and my back. He lifted me up and walked back towards the house.

"Dustin" I said he looked at me.

"It's ok rest,save your energy" he whispered to me. I nodded and cradled into his arms. Burying my face in his chest.

"Oh my god what happened!!" I heard a yell. I couldn't tell who it was but they were frantic.

"A dog bit her" Dustin explained. I didn't know were I was or who was talking or what was going on. I could only hear people frantically yelling asking what happened. Or is she ok?! 

I heard the front door of my house open. And more yelling from my friends. "Everyone quite!" Dustin said in a yell whisper.

Dustin kelt down and laid me down on the couch. Pain shooting again through my arm. I felt someone pull my hair out of my eyes and a hand rest on my cheek. my eyes landed on him. His lite blue eyes looked at me with terror tears building.

I put my hand on his. And looked at him. "I'm sorry" he said.

"We're gonna fix you up" another voice came I looked towards it. It was Steve I nodded slightly. My body was yelling at me. At this point my arm didn't feel bad it was probably adrenaline mixed with the fact that I just wanted to sleep.

"C-can I sleep?" I asked. Dustin looked around at the others then back to me.

"Let us get your arm wrapped up then you can ok" he said I nodded.

Dustin told Mike to go to the bathroom and get some bandages and rubbing alcohol. Mike listened and went to the bathroom.

"I'm going to take this off ok" he said grabbing the jacket on my arm.

"Ok" I said he slowly unwrapped the jacket and pulled it off.

"Oh man!" Will said. He must have gotten here after I stormed out.

"That's really bad" Max said. It was there were big gashes in my arm. And it was still bleeding not as bad as before but still bleeding. Dustin looked really upset.

A minute later Mike came back with the rubbing alcohol and bandages. Dustin took them from him and opened the bottle. "This is going to burn" he said.

"I know" I said it would burn a lot but it needed to be disinfected. Dustin nodded and slowly poured the alcohol on my arm.

I screamed into my teeth. Squeezing Steve's hand. Witch he had given to me before. The mix of blood and alcohol made a white foam all over my arm. Lukas gaged and looked away.

Dustin then took out the bandage and wrapped my arm up. It hurt like crazy. Why had I gone out in the first place.

"I-I'm sorry I yelled at you guys" I said to Max Lukas Mike and El. They all looked at me.

"It's ok Em we should have listened" Lukas said they all nodded in agreement.

I laid down on the couch. My arm burning. I tried to ignore it and sleep.

Dustin's pov

Emily fell asleep on the couch. I let out a sigh. "She'll be fine Dustin" Mike said putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Ya she's tuff" Will joined in.

I nodded looking over my shoulder at her. "I know she is" I said.

"I guess killing that thing in you is postponed" Max said.

"I guess,but that's ok as long as Em's ok" I said. I honestly had entirely forgotten about why I had come over in the first place.

Everyone slowly left. Telling me to let them know how she is when she wakes up. After around an hour it was just me and Emily. Who was still asleep.

I just sat next to her in a chair in her living room. I sat there all day till my eyes started becoming heavy.

I jolted awake when I heard the door open. Emily's mom walked into the room to see Emily asleep on the couch with a raped arm and me sitting next to her.

A look of terror came over her face. "Dustin....what happened?" She asked walking over to her daughter.

"She went out into the woods and a dog attacked her,I heard her screaming and went and got the dog off her and brought her back here" I explained. She looked up at me.

"Thank you" She said.

"For what?"

"For taking care of her." She said as tears filled her eyes. She took my hands and fell to her knees in front of me.

"Thank you so much for taking care of my baby" she said to me I smiled at her.

"I will always take care of her" I told her she smiled at me.

"Mom?" Emily said as she sat up. Her mom turned around and hugged her.

I smiled and stood up to leave. "Dustin" I stoped at the sound of my name and turned around.

"You stayed here?" Emily asked me.

"Ya I...didn't want you to be alone so I stayed" I said. She smiled and stood up and walked over to me.

"Thank you" She said kissing me on the cheek.

"Of course" I said she smiled and I walked out of the house. And headed home. It was around 6:00 when I got home.

I could feel another headache coming. They were getting more frequent.
