𝗗𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗔 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 herself for not thinking of this plan in the first place. As soon as Max mentioned finding his parents at the town hall party it hit her, if there were any adults that were going to believe them it was her parents. Now they just had to find them.
"Oh, great how are we going to find our parents in this place?" Max asked as they approached the town hall building that was booming with music and party-goers.
They easily made their way through the entrance past the door greeters and ignored them as they called out.
Max had posed a good question as they made their way to the dance floor which was just as packed.
"Split up, Dru with me," Max instructed.
Dani gave her brother a look and Allison sent a sly smile to the young girl. Dani opened her mouth to comment on Max and his sudden switch but Allison covered her mouth.
"We'll meet you guys in the middle of the dance floor." She informed them and gave Drusilla a thumbs up making the girl look at her weirdly.
She didn't have time to question Allison's gesture before Max was dragging her off.
"What are your parents dressed as?" He asked.
"Witches." She said simply, she could've laughed at how ironic it was now. Max nodded and the two turned around to look around the dance floor.
Max let out a yell making the two teens jump and turn around. A man clad in a vampire costume stood behind Max smiling. "Oh, dad," He sighed in relief.
"It's not dad, it's Dadcula," He joked to his son and Drusilla let out a laugh making Mr. Dennison turn to look at her. "Oh, my goodness, and who must this charming young blood donor be?" He asked his son before taking the girl's hand really committed to the act as he sniffed her.
"Drusilla," She politely introduced.
"Dad! Somethin' terrible happened!" Max said urgently.
Mr. Dennison quickly dropped his act. "Dani? What's wrong?" He quickly asked.
"No, Dani's fine." He said.
"Good." Mr. Dennison flashed a polite smile to the girl. "Excuse me, come here," The last part directed to his son as he dragged him away and left the girl alone.
Drusilla sighed looking around the room for her own parents until she was rudely bumped into.
She quickly turned around ready to face whatever had bumped her. She let out a sigh of relief seeing both of her parents.
"Dru?" Her mom asked. "What are you doing here?"
Drusilla couldn't stop herself from wrapping her arms around her parents wanting to find comfort before it was ripped away.
"They're back," She said pulling away to look at both her mom and her dad. "I stupidly let some of my friends into the Sanderson house and Max lit the candle and now we're screwed," She word vomited.
Her dad grabbed her shoulders. "Where are they?"
Drusilla shook her head. "I don't know, but you have to help me convince Max's parents." She quickly grabbed their hands and Mr and Mrs. Grimm followed their daughter to the commotion that was Max and Dani yelling at their parents.
Drusilla pulled Max's arm to face her dad. "He lit the black flame candle."
"Why would you do that?" Mr. Grimm couldn't help but reprimand the boy, which caused another talking fest to brew and suddenly everyone was back to talking over each other and getting nowhere.
Dani quickly grabbed Drusilla's arm getting her attention. "They're here," She said as her eyes landed on the sisters now on the dance floor.
"Max, they're here!" Dani said now getting her brother's attention look where Drusilla's eyes had been glued.
Max thought fast on his feet as he jumped on stage and grabbed the mic from the singer yelling at the band to stop. "Will everybody listen up please?" He said turning to the crowd.
"Listen to him!" Dani begged her parents as her brother continued to speak.
"Your kids are in danger." The crowd gasped and began asking questions but Max continued. "Three hundred years ago, the Sanderson sisters bewitched people, and now they've returned from their grave." Drusilla felt her mom grab her arm as the rest of the adults laughed.
"Hey man, I'm serious! It's not a joke!" Max tried to plea with them. "I know this sounds dumb, but they're here tonight. They're right over there!" He pointed and the spotlight quickly followed, illuminating the sisters making the crowd gasp.
"Thank you, Max," Winifred spoke. "For that marvelous introduction." The crowd laughed.
"It's them," Drusilla heard her dad whisper behind her.
"I put a spell on you," Winifred began singing. "And now you're mine." The crowd was entertained but Dani had covered her ears and began shouting.
"No! Don't listen to them!" She shouted going completely ignored as her parents pushed her forward to get closer.
Drusilla turned to her parents. She had never seen them so frightened. "What do I do?" She pleaded with them.
Her mom snapped out of her trance looking at her daughter. "Get your friends and get out of here, keep that book until sunrise."
Drusilla frowned knowing her parents were going to be under the Winifred sister's spell soon and there was nothing she could do about it. Their focus was already going in and out as they kept looking from her to the sisters.
"Hello, Salem!" Winifred shouted as the three witches ran up on stage, Drusilla sighed, and with one last look at her parents, she ran to the front of the stage pulling Max back.
"We have to go!" She told him as she dragged him through the dancing crowd. Allison and Dani were quick to join them as the four could only stand there watching the performance as Winifred enchanted the crowd.
"Binx where are you?" Dani called out. Someone grabbed Max's shoulder and they turned around to see Billy had finally caught up to him. The four quickly ducked down. Drusilla pushed him back giving them enough room to run away.
"Mom, Dad, thank god!" Max said grabbing his parent's shoulders.
"Great show Max," His dad complimented.
"Cover your ears!" The siblings tried to warn but Drusilla knew even that wouldn't work as she spared a glance at her dancing parents.
Dani let out a scream and Drusilla turned behind her to look at Billy who had caught up to them. The rest of the teens let out screams of their own as they made another run for it.
Pushing through the crowd as the witches chanted and their song came to an end, the four had made it out the back door just in time as they ran down the street into the back ally of a seafood restaurant.
Drusilla threw the book down as she slid down the brick wall sighing, trying to get the image of her bewitched parents out of her head. She had brought one of their fears to life and they couldn't even help her.
Not even the loud noise of Max angrily kicking a trash can scared her. "This is really bad," Max said angrily.
"Max, calm down," Allison said.
He turned to the girl, "Look, I want you to take Dani back to your house and don't let her out of your sight,"
"Max, I'm not leaving you!" Dani said and her older brother turned to her.
"Dru and I can figure something out," He said and he turned his head to look for Drusilla only to see her sitting on the floor with her knees curled up.
The boy sighed his anger dissipating as he moved to join the girl on the floor. Dani and Allison moved to give them some space knowing that emotions were high right now.
"You, okay?" He asked the girl.
"This is all my fault," Drusilla said not looking at him.
The whole night Drusilla had been adamant about blaming him, so he couldn't mask the confused look that came over his face.
"All my life my parents have warned me about those witches and I stupidly let people into the house just cause it's some boy with puppy eyes and I've got a point to prove." She sighed leaning her head back against the wall, all night she had been tough but seeing her parents succumb the magic had pushed her.
Before Max could say anything the back door of the restaurant banged open causing the four to duck out of sight.
They sighed in relief seeing it was only a chef picking out a lobster. Once he was gone the group stood up again, Max helping Drusilla to her feet.
"Uh oh," Binx said and the group turned to look back down the ally way this time seeing the sisters. They were quick to hide again as the witches sniffed around for them.
"I smell .." Mary trailed off. "Winnie I smell ... I smell scrod." She said. "Scrod. It's a bottom dweller. You cook it sometimes with lovely bread crumbs." She began stammering. Winifred was quick to angrily drag off her sister and call after the other one.
Once they were out of sight the group sighed. Drusilla reached out to grab something to help her stand up.
What she had grabbed onto was an old oven and the door opened with a bang. She grimaced apologetically at the others, before turning back to look at the oven.
Max could see the wheels turning in her head as she smiled. "I have an idea," She said to them and whatever little faith she had in saving Salem had returned for a moment.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗣 𝗛𝗔𝗗 found themselves at Jacob Bailey high school. The three had followed Drusilla's lead and they now all stood in front of the big furnace in the ceramic shop.
"The only way to get rid of witches is by burning or hanging..." Drusilla spoke opening the heavy door to the furnace. "And I don't think we're going to get a noose around their necks so," She turned to the group raising her eyebrows as if asking for feedback.
"You're a genius, Dru, I could kiss you!" Max said and Drusilla's face became warm at Max's compliment.
"Well, it wasn't that hard to come up with.." The red face girl trailed off trying to dismiss herself. "They'll be following our scent, we just gotta push the door close once they get in there, this will help,"
She held up the big radio she had swiped from the French classroom. "Then we stand behind the door and once they're in, the witches burn," She smiled at them.
Max smiled back, "One thing, they've tormented us all night I think it's time we torment them too," He said beginning to walk out of the room.
"Where are you going?" Dani called after him.
"Using the 20th century against them," He called out. "You guys wait here, when my voice comes over the intercom you know they're here," The three girls only watched as he exited with Binx following him and Drusilla shook her head at his stupid antics with a smile on her face.
She walked into the furnace setting the cassette up making sure to rewind the tape far back enough.
"So my brother likes you now," Dani suddenly spoke and Drusilla didn't turn around thinking she was talking to Allison. The young girl coughed finally getting her attention.
Drusilla turned around raising her eyebrows, "Excuse me? He does not," She shook her head.
Dani ignored her protest. "You know I'll never understand boys, but at least I can still make fun of him," Dani smiled. Drusilla only look bewildered before looking at Allison who had a large grin on her face.
"You know shared trauma does bring people closer," Allison informed her.
"Oh Dru, I could kiss you!" Dani began to mock. "Oh you're such a genius and you're sooo pretty, Oh Dru!" She ignored and began dramatically holding her hand to her forehead truly putting on a show.
"Oh shut up," Drusilla mumbled her face getting hot again remembering their exchange, cursing herself for letting Max get to her at a time like this.
"You like him too!" Dani held up her finger pointing at Drusilla, "Yuck!" The child said once again dramatically.
Before Drusilla could fumble with her words and put an end to this Max's voice rang through the intercom. His wolf howl rang throughout the school and Drusilla quickly pressed play to the tape before grabbing Dani and Allison to hide behind the furnace door and wait.
"Welcome to High School Hell," Max said. "I'm your host Boris Karloff, junior," He cackled through the mic and Drusilla snorted rolling her eyes. The tiny smile on her lips dropped when she saw Dani smiling up at her.
"It's time to meet our three contestants," Max continued his taunting. "Sarah, Mary, and Winifred Sanderson. Read any good spellbooks lately?" He asked.
It didn't take long for the daunting footsteps of the witches could be heard entering the ceramics shop and the girls quickly held their breaths. Just like Drusilla had hoped the witches fell for it laughing as they jumped into the furnace thinking they had the upper hand.
"We've got them! We've got them!" Winifred celebrated, the celebrations ended as Mary poked a close look at the radio curiously. Drusilla gave them no more time as she began to push the door shut with help from Dani and Allison.
Drusilla quickly shut the latch giving them no possible way out and Allison pressed start soon igniting the flames inside as the group watched them struggle, Max with Binx on his shoulder coming up behind her.
Dani covered her ears and Drusilla put her hand over her eyes shielding her away from the torture. Deciding that was enough the group made their way out of the school and as they walked down the hall the screams stopped, the witches were dead.
Drusilla breathed out not realizing she had been holding her breath as Max and Dani bounded out the front of the school cheering. Allison laughed and grabbed Drusilla's hand as they followed them out.
"Farewell Winifred Sanderson!" Max yelled to the sky.
Drusilla stopped at the front of the school breathing in the fall air, everything feeling lighter. She broke out into a smile, they had done it.
Her smile only got bigger seeing the other three celebrate around her. Max quickly turned to the girl smiling. "We did it!" He yelled happily and before she could protest he picked the girl up spinning her around and she laughed.
She let out a cheer before he sat her down and she couldn't help but look up at the boy he was smiling down at her, the words Dani had said earlier running through her head as the two teens stared at each other.
Dani let out a loud giggle before wrapping her arms around her brother, unintentionally separating the two of them. Allison wrapped her arms around Drusilla and the girl happily accepted the affection from her friend.
"Burn! Burn!" Max yelled out and the group took of cheering down the street not caring how late it was. To them, the worst was over.
