Shits and Giggles
"The gate." Steve, Dustin and I whispered. We all walked back down.
"I don't understand." Robin said. "You've seen this before?"
"Not exactly."
"Then what, exactly?"
"All you need to know is it's bad." I told her. "Trust me."
"It's really bad."
"Like, end-of-the-human-race-as-we-know-it kind of bad."
"And you know about this how?" Robin asked us.
"Um, Steve? Where's your Russian friend?" Erica pointed. The guy was gone. The alarm went off. Steve ran to the door and closed it quickly.
"Shit." We ran up the stairs again. We pushed people, trying to get away from the russians.
"Shit! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!" Dustin screams as we reached the end of the walkway.
"Move! Let's move!" Steve yells as he grabbed my hand. We were running for our lives. "Go! Shit! Shit, shit, shit!"
"This way!" Robin yells as she pointed at a door. "Come on, quick!" We all ran into the room. Steve tried to hold it but he couldn't by himself.
"Wendy! Shit!" The door was trying to open.
"Here! Come on, let's go!" Erica yells as she found a way out.
"Go! Just get out of here!" Steve yells at us all.
"Go, come on, now!" Robin and Erica went in.
"No! Just go get some help, okay?" I was about to leave but I couldnt leave Steve. I ran to help him out.
"What are you doing?!" He yelled at me.
"You die, i die!" I yelled back. The door wasnt going hold anymore.
"I won't forget you!" Dustin screams.
"Go!" We turned to him. Dustin left. The door opens, making me and Steve fall back. I banged my head. The russians pulled their guns on us. We raised our hands. They took us away, separating me and Steve. I heard his grunts, and laughter from another room.
"Come on just let me see him please!" I cried. They just ignored me. "Let me see him! You're hurting him!" The man slaps me across my face.
"Wendy!" I heard Steve cried out.
"Steve!" Then there was no noise from him. There was two knocks and the man grabbed me. "Get your hands off me!" They pushed me into a room. I saw Steve. He didnt move.
"Hmm." He hummed.
"Hey Steve?" I said softly. "Steve? Steve?"
"Wendy?" He whispers. i cried as they pushed to the ground.
"Its okay Steve. Im here." I looked at the old man, who was laughing. "What did you do to him? What did you do?" He slaps me. They talked in russian. They went to grab me and steve. "Don't touch me! Steve, wake up." They tied us up to chairs. "Steve?" He didnt say nothing. "What did you do?! Steve, can you hear me?" The man walked to Steve. I couldn't see what he was doing he walks to me and bends down.
"your friend need a doctor. Good thing we have the very best." They all started to laugh. I spit in his face. "You are going to regret that-" then he said something in russian. He cleaned the spit and They shortly left.
"Assholes. Let us outta here! Bastards! Let us out! Let us out!" I kept yelling. I spent so much time on screaming for help, knowing nobody can hear. "Help! Help!"
"Hey, would you stop yelling?" Steve mummers. I started to laugh. It was so good to hear his voice.
"Steve! Oh, my God! Steve Are you okay?"
"My ears are ringing, and I can't really breathe, my eye feels like it's about to pop out of my skull, but, you know, apart from that, I'm doing pretty good."
"Well, the good news is that they're calling you a doctor." We both laughed.
"Is this his place of work? I love the vibe."
"Charming."
"Yeah, tell me about it." I started to look around the room and i spotted scissors.
"So, okay, do you see that table over there to your right?" I told him. He turned to his left. "No, your other right."
"Oh." He turned the other way.
"Yeah, do you see those scissors?"
"Uh-huh." He nodded.
"Yeah, well, I think that if we move at the same time, we could get over there, and then maybe I could kick the table and knock them into your lap."
"And I could cut the binds."
"Yeah, and we could get out of here."
"Gotcha." We sat up. "Okay, yeah, we can do that."
"Yeah. Those morons. They left scissors in here?"
"Yeah, morons." Steve laughs off.
"Total morons." I focused on the scissors. "Okay. Okay, so, on the count of three, we're gonna hop.
"Okay, good, hop on three. I gotcha."
"All right. One, two, three." We hopped. We got closer. We started to laugh. "Okay, that worked."
"Okay. All right. Uh, let's try again."
"Right. One, two, three." We did it again.
"Holy shit, this is gonna work!" So close.
"We're close. Ready? Okay, one, two, three." We didnt jump at the same time, making us fall to the ground. I started to laugh softly.
"It's okay, it's okay. Don't cry. Wendy." I snorted from my laughter. "Are you laughing?"
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Jesus!" He sighed.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry. It's just I can't believe I'm gonna die in a secret Russian base with Steve "The Hair" Harrington." I thought.
"We're not gonna die. We're gonna get out of here, okay? Just You gotta let me just think for a second." I stopped laughing and thought of a memory.
"Do you remember October 29, last year?" I asked.
"What?"
"I was running late, I fell on top of you. Thats when i knew, when i saw the hair, the cute little moles, that glow in your eyes, i knew that you're going to be the greatest person i ever met. Dont you remember?"
"When I was trampled by a beautiful girl, with amazing eyes, a cute grin? Yeah I remember." I smiled to myself.
"I told myself that you are the cutest guy i ever laid eyes on. But i found out that you were with someone and it crushed me. But becoming your friend is the closest thing to ever be with you. That sounds so creepy. But, i thought to myself, why would, a rich guy, pretty girlfriend, has everything, wants to be friends or even seen to be with me?"
"If it makes you feel any better, having those things isn't all that great. Seriously."
"I feel like my whole life has been one big error." Steve chuckled.
"Yep."
"At least it can't get any more messed up than this."
"You know, I wish I'd known you in Chemistry earlier." Steve told me.
"Yeah?"
"Really, I do. Maybe you could've helped me pass the class. Maybe instead of being here, I'd be on my way to college right now."
"And I would have no idea that there were evil Russians beneath our town, and I would be happily be with a guy with greater hair than Steve Harrington."
"Theres nobody with greater hair then me. Gotta say, though, I liked being your friend. It was fun while it lasted."
"It was." A tear fell from my face. The doors opened and the russians came in. They all laughed.
"Where were you two going?" They grabbed us set us back up. "Try telling the truth this time, yes? It will make your visit with Dr. Zharkov less painful." He told Steve.
"Wait a second." The doctor pulls out a long needle gun. My eyes widen. "Wait. Hold on. Okay! Wait, wait, wait! What is that thing?"
"It will help you talk." The doctor told him.
"Did you even clean that thing?!" I felt steve struggling. Hes scream echoed the room. The doctor looked at me.
"Wait no! Wait!" He put the needle in my neck and i screamed. They left us again. Steve and I just sat there.
"Honestly, I don't really feel anything. Do you?" He asked me.
"I mean, I I feel fine. I feel normal." I shrugged.
"Yeah, I feel I feel fine. I kinda feel good." We started to giggle.
"Wanna know a secret?" I whispered to him.
"What?"
"I like it, too!" It felt really good. Like reallyyyy good. "I feel good."
"Morons. They messed up the drug."
"They messed it up!"
"Morons. Hey, morons! Morons! Moron! Mor-" I started to yell out.
"Hey! Whoa-oh! Oh, no." Steve chuckles. "There's definitely something wrong with us."
