We were running to get the hell out of there. I kept the kids in front of me. I tripped as Mike fell.

"Help! Help! Help! Help!" I pulled him. He was stuck in something or even something grabbed him.

"Hold on!" Steve yelled as he ran back to us.

"Everybody back! Back!" I yelled at the kids as me and Steve helped Mike. Steve grabbed his bat and started to hit whatever it was. Everyone started to ask if Mike was okay.

"Guys, we gotta go!" Steve ran to the front and we followed. We all stopped to see a demodog. My eyes widen.

"Dart." Dustin said. "Shh. Stop."

"Dustin, get back." Max warned him.

"Trust me, please." He said. He looked at Dart and smiled. "Hey. It's me, it's me. It's just your friend, it's Dustin. It's Dustin, all right? You remember me? Will you let us pass?" Dart snarls. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry about the storm cellar. That was a pretty douchey thing to do. You hungry? Yeah?" He grabs something from his backpack.

"He's insane." Lucas whispered.

"Don't." Mike said to Dustin.

"Shut up." Steve told them.

"I've got our favorite." Dustin waved a candy bar in its face. "See? Nougat. Look at that. Yummy." Dustin fed it. "Here, all right? Eat up, buddy. Come on. Come on." Dustin signaled us to keep moving.

"Let's go. In front me go." I told the kids. Dustin left the candy and Dart ate it. I let him say his goodbye and we ran out of there.

"Let's go, let's go!" We heard a howling noise.

"What was that?" Max said.

"They're coming." We all stopped running. "Run! Run! Let's go!" We ran again.

"Let's go! Come on, Mike! Move, Mike!" Dustin said as he pushed everyone.

"There, there!" Lucas yelled as we were close to rope.

"Come on! Let's go. Go, go, go! Let's go! Come on! Come on!" Steve and I pushed the kids up to the surface.

"Come on! Come on, hurry up! Come on, come on, come on!" Steve said as we had two more kids left. "Here." He pushed Dustin up. It was just me and him. "Wendy! Come on!"

"No! You go first!" I yelled at him.

"This is not for discussion." He argued.

"Shit!" Steve and I hugged as the dogs ran. I covered my face into his chest as he put his face into my shoulder.

"What the hell." But nothing happened. The dogs were running around us.

"Eleven." Steve and quickly got out. The car lights blinded us and we covered our eyes. Then they slowly went back to dim. It was over. we all met up at the house.

"Wendy!" Everyone yelled. I gave Jonathan and aunt Joyce a hug. I looked at Will. They nodded their heads. I ran to give Will a hug. "You're okay now buddy."

"Thanks for mom." He said. I looked at aunt Joyce and Jonathan.

"We are so sorry for not telling you." My aunt Joyce confessed. "I thought maybe it wont come back."

"Its okay." I smiled at her. "There's some things better unsaid."

"At least Will is back." We all looked at him as he hugged his friends. I looked at Steve as I wrapped Will in my arms. I mouthed thank you to him and he nods.

One month later

"Yeah, you got it." Jingle bell rock was play all over the house. I checked myself in the mirror. I cant believe im wearing a puffy dress. Eww. I fixed my hair. I signed up to chaperone Will's winter dance. Imma be serving food with Nancy. I walked out of my room to see Jonathan videoing aunt Joyce and Will dancing.

"Do you always have to be filming everything?" Will asked Jonathan. I giggled as i stood besides him.

"No, no. Just the good stuff." Jonathan chuckled.

"Are you sure people still dance like this?" Will was so stiff at dancing, cant blame him, i cant dance either.

"Oh yeah. It's just what's happening." Aunt Joyce said to him.

"Is it what's happening?" Will asked me and Jonathan. We both looked at each other.

"Yeah, yeah, it's what's happening." We said.

"My turn! Haha!" I joined. I danced with Will for a while as we were gonna leave soon. We left shortly and we made it to the school. Jonathan went in with Will.

"Hey, I'm Wendy Byers, im here to chaperone." I smiled. The lady looked at the papers and looked at me.

"Theres no Wendy Byers here." Jonathan came running in.

"Are you sure? We turned it in the same day." Jonathan told her. She shrugged her shoulders.

"If you dont have it, you cant chaperone." I rubbed my eyes. I turned to Jonathan.

"Its okay, have fun."

"Are you sure? I mean-"

"Go." I said as I left the school. I was sad. I kinda wanted to be here tonight.

"Wendy?" I picked up my head to see Steve in his car.

"Steve?" I walked up to his car.

"Why are you doing here?"

"I was supposed to chaperone, what about you?" I asked.

"Dropped off Dustin." I turned to see Dustin with his new hair. They all look adorable. "Get in, its cold." He unlocks his door and and i got in.

"Thanks." I smiled. He looked at me funny. "What?"

"You're wearing a dress."

"Yeah the only time you'll ever see me wearing it."

"You look good. I mean pretty. I mean beautiful." He stutters. I blushed. Steve and I became closer after the whole mindflayer thing happened. "You want to go eat?"

"Sure." I buckled up and he drove to KFC. We ordered some food and chatted. We laughed all night. I had to say, im falling for him. He wasn't bad at all, kids at school told me different but he definitely changed.

"You want to become a fashion designer?"

"Of course i do, i love fashion, it may look like i dont, but i do." I looked into his eyes. "You?"

"Still don't know what im going to do." Steve chuckles. I placed my hand on his. "I want to go to Tech."

"Ill help you with that." I smiled at him. He smiled back at me. We stayed up all night and he drove me home. "I have fun tonight. Thank you."

"Same here." We stayed in the car. Silent and awkward. I bit my lip. "Do you wanna hang out Saturday?" I turned to him.

"Sure, I'd love that." I smiled. I opened the door, but I got back in and kissed his cheek. "Drive carefully Harrington. Call me when you get home." He turned red.

"The second I walk in." He smiled. I waved to him and went inside. I smiled all the way to my room and jumped on my bed. I kissed his cheek. Wow. I washed up and put on my pjs and waited for Steves call. The phone rang and I picked up. "Hey Byers."

"Hey Harrington." I bit my lip.

"So, what are you wearing." We both laughed. "Im joking."

"Drive carefully as promised?"

"As promised." I played around with the cord. We talked all night, it was already 4 in the morning. "Go to sleep Steve."

"I guess so, have a nice night- i mean morning Wendy."

"Same to you Steve." We hung up and i smiled into my pillow. I had so many butterflies. But deep down, i knew something was wrong.
