[13] : THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS

Weeks had passed and the fear at Hogwarts increased. Colin Creevey had been petrified by the monster, which was a Basilisk. Hermione Granger was next and Astrid noticed that someone was missing, the younger sister of Ron. She now sat with Oliver, at the Astronomy Tower, looking at the stars Professor Sinistra most probably had charmed unto to ceiling.

"What if the monster comes after me next?" Oliver suddenly asked. Astrid sat up right, looked at him and slapped him hard on the chest. He groaned. "I was just thinking out loud!"

"Well don't!" She huffed out, trying to be angry but when Oliver grinned at her like the idiot he was, she couldn't help but smile back. "I'm sorry then!"

"You're going to have to work harder for me to forgive you. You have an unforgiving arm woman." She gaped at him.

"You're one to talk! You literally created a crater in my back when you slammed your fist onto my back!" Oliver chuckled.

"You were choking! You didn't think I was going to let you die, did you?" He asked, gently kissing the top of her forehead. She blushed.

"It still hurt." She whined. "And—" She was cut off by Oliver's soft lips gently smashing against hers.

"You talk too much you know." Oliver said when he pulled away and Astrid pouted. "Ah, dinner is about to start." Oliver said as he pulled her up and they both walked to the Great Hall.

Professor McGonagall, Dumbledore, Lockhart, Snape, Sprout and Flitwick were all missing from the table and Astrid guessed they wanted to address the matter of Ginny Weasley's disappearance. She noticed that Harry and Ron were missing too.

"Hey Wood, I'm going to look for Potter and Ron, you want to tag along?" She grabbed a couple of tarts. Oliver looked at her and she placed one on the table. He raised a brow and she dumped them all on the table only taking one. Oliver smiled. "Buzzkill." She muttered under her breath.

After a few minutes of walking, she spotted the two with Gilderoy. They ran to catch up with them.

"Where are you guys headed?" She panted, and discarded the half eaten tart. Oliver raised a brow at her, this was the first time he saw her throw away good food.

"We think we know where's the entrance to the Chamber." Harry said, rushing to the side of the girl's bathroom. They all followed him. Harry spoke to a ghost named Moaning Myrtle, he asked her how she died and she told him the entire story.

Once down in the Chamber, Oliver and Astrid stayed together. She watched as Harry and Ron push Gilderoy forward and he fell. She felt her crush on him slowly fade away. He was a fraud and lied to them, and Astrid disliked people who lied.

"I can't believe I actually liked him." Astrid shook her head, tsking loudly. Gilderoy looked back, and flashed her a smile. She stuck out her middle finger. "Move you little fuck." She hissed.

"You know, I still am a Professor." Gilderoy argued. Astrid and Oliver laughed.

"I hardly doubt that Lockhart. Everyone knows you're a fraud now." Oliver pointed out and this shut the former Professor up. Gilderoy suddenly grabbed ahold of Ron's broken wand and pointed it at the four of them.

"Ha!" He yelled out, feeling happy about his stupid victory upon grabbing a broken wand from a twelve year old. "Now boys, and girl, I'm going to take credit for this all. People will know this story of course, of how I found the Chamber, of how I couldn't save the Weasley girl and how you four died by the hands of the monster and of how I single handily had to kill the monster and succeeded." He waved the broken wand. "Obliviate!"

Gilderoy was flung back and the Chamber suddenly shook. Rocks plummeted down on them and Astrid pushed Harry away just in the nick of time. Unfortunately they were separated.

Ron and Harry exchanged a few words before he sprinted off, going to save Ginny Weasley. Gilderoy had stirred and Ron whacked him over the with a rock.

"I didn't sign up for this, you know what? I didn't sign up at all!" Astrid whined. "I'm not like Cedric, who likes  helping people, or like my dad, who helped the Potters!" Astrid yelled out angrily. "I just wanted to make sure you guys were safe, I didn't sign up for a rescue mission, I didn't sign up at all!"

"We hear you Astrid, I didn't sign up for this as well but they are second years, we have to help them." Oliver said in a calm tone. Astrid burst in tears and Ron raised his eyebrow at Oliver, who shrugged as he engulfed his girlfriend in a warm hug.

"Girls." Ron said and Gilderoy stirred again.

"I'm sorry, it's just these dreams I've been having are getting more and more disturbing." She sighed and they sat down, far from Gilderoy and Ron. "I learned that the woman with the dark hair is Andromeda Tonks, she told me herself, but I don't know a Andromeda Tonks. You're there, but it's not really you and my—" Her lip quivered and she sniffed. Oliver hugged her again and rested his chin on her head. "My dad is there. He looks happy to see me and then, a lady with wild black hair kills him right in front of my eyes." She sighed, and she noticed Gilderoy was now quiet and Ron was moving rocks to create a path. "Let's just help Ron. My stupid dreams can wait a little longer."

Oliver wanted to tell her that her dreams were not stupid but he kissed the top of her head instead and they stood up to help Ron. Astrid pulled her wand out.

"Bombarda." The rocks blasted away, and the Chamber shook again. Rocks gave way and hurled towards Gilderoy, who was still unconscious. "Depulso!" Astrid yelled in time and the rocks hurled away. She sighed in relief. "Should've have left the rocks to fucking kill him." She muttered to herself as she went to sit and they waited for Harry.

The end of the year exams had been canceled. Astrid was happy, but sad at the same time. She had studied her ass off for her OWLS and now, they're weren't even going to take them.

She sat with Oliver in an empty train compartment and they lay side by side on the floor, as Astrid had pulled out her dark green blanket. It had the Slytherin badge on it and she had scribbled her initials lazily on it. She also had pillows to match and when Oliver asked her how did she fit these things in, she said, "Ask no questions, hear no lies my love." And she winked at him and he chuckled at her.

They fell asleep at some point, because Cedric had shook them both awake and told them to change. Astrid happily did so. She bought a few candy, a few meaning an entire seat.

Astrid and Oliver kissed before they parted ways and promised to write to each other over the summer. Astrid was looking forward to the summer.

"Was that the Wood boy Draco has told me so much about?" Lucius asked Astrid and she turned a deep shade of red. Drcao laughed at her and she poked him with her wand. He shrieked in pain and it was her turn to laugh at him.

"Yes and his name is Oliver uncle Lucius."

"And are you two—?" He trailed off but Astrid caught his drift and she grabbed his walking stick and walked with it instead.

"Yes uncle Lucius, yes. We are in love and we plan to have babies by the age of nineteen." She grinned, handing him her luggage and happily walking ahead, waving at some Muggles and finally spotting her aunt. She'd spot that platinum blonde anywhere. She made a mental note to ask her who Andromeda Tonks is. And what role she played in her life.
