I'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH A THING WHERE I'VE BEEN REALLY UNINSPIRED AND I'VE HAD A LOT OF WRITERS BLOCK AS OF LATE

"More importantly.." She looks at the piece of paper. "This leads somewhere.. Out of town.."

"Out of town..?" Thresh blinks. "Where..?"

"Doesn't matter.. None of you are coming.." She sets Sonya down on the couch and looks at Firo. "Watch her for me.." She waves and disappears

Sonya pouts and rubs her eyes

"Sorry Sonya..." Kanna pats the child's head.

"Honestly.. I'm glad to skip out on this adventure.." Thresh looks out the window

"But it's obvious what this is!!" Firo is impatient in her excitement.

"What is it..?" Thresh looks at her

"She's a time traveler!" Firo grins happily

"I'm ninety nine percent certain that you're wrong." Thresh states. I tap his shoulder and point up at the title.

"Wanna make it a bet?" Firo grins and looks out the window. "I say we go after her.."

"Are you crazy?!" Kanna looks at her.

"Yes!" Firo picks a smiling Sonya up as we hear a motorcycle engine from outside. "Let's go!! It's a plot-filled trilogy of chapters and there is no way I'm missing it!" Sonya is happily laughing as Firo runs out of the room. "Maybe it'll even be a tetralogy!! The author had to look that up in order to write this joke!"

Mason sprints after her with a grin on his face

Kanna looks between me and Kiki. "Don't you dare even think about it..."

"Sorry Kanna!" I run out of the room grinning

"I'm not!!" Kiki grins and sprints out of the room, dragging Thresh behind her.

"Don't die!!" Kanna yells after us

"No promises!!" Firo laughs

"So where exactly are we going..?" Thresh is nervous

"Somewhere...?" Firo looks back at him. Kiki is still dragging him along

We had managed to follow the demon up until this point, but now she was on foot, which made following her a lot more difficult. The area we had ended in was rather strange though, it was just a forest. Considering all the strange things we've seen, seeing something this normal has become the new abnormality.

"So we don't even know where we're going...?" Thresh sighs. "We're all gonna die.."

"Oh, relax.. We've survived worse than this." Firo states

"Yeah, but at least we had some idea of where we were going for those adventures!" Thresh looks at Firo

"Duck!" Sonya frantically whispers

We all suddenly dive behind a nearby tree or bush as Evi looks behind her to investigate the noise. We were at a very reasonable distance away from the demon, enough to be able to talk at our usual voice levels. But yelling was too much volume.

"Nice going, Thresh." Firo glares a bit

"I'm making a point." Thresh glares back. "If we get caught, we're dead.. If we make it there, we're probably still dead.. It's a lose lose situation.." Thresh raises his voice slightly.

"Evi wouldn't lead us somewhere dangerous!" Sonya whispers

"I don't know how to break this to you kid, but that's exactly the reason why she left you with us!" Thresh whispers back.

"Guys, guys.. Relax.. It's all gonna be fine." Kiki pokes her head out of the bush she's hiding in. "It's all gonna turn out fine in the end."

"Easy for you to say.." Thresh glares a bit at her

"You're right, it is easy for me to say." Kiki grins happily. "And not just because I'm the easy-going one in our little party."

Thresh blinks. "Why else...?"

"Because we've all got invisible armor." Kiki grins

Silence.

Thresh leans over to Mason. "I think she's really gone crazy this time.." He whispers

Mason slowly nods in agreement

Kiki raises an eyebrow. "I'm not crazy.. I'm just saying.. We're all main characters." she states, a bit annoyed. "We've all got plot armor.."

"Plot armor..?" Mason blinks

"Yeah! Like invisible armor that protects us, because we're all necessary for the plot to continue!" Kiki grins. "So we'll be fine!"

"Good point." I slowly nod.

"Well.. The exceptions being Kat and Firo." Kiki states

"Why..?" Firo raises an eyebrow

"Because we're all characters that belong to other people.. We being me, Thresh, Mason, and Sonya." Kiki states. "You and Kat are expendable."

Mason moves and sits a bit closer to Firo. "She's not expendable." He glares a bit

"You're right.. Kat is the one who's most likely to be killed off, if it ever happens." Kiki states.

"What?! Why?!" I glare at Kiki

"Because Firo is too interesting of a character to die.. You may be the narrator, but you have like, what, seven lines of text every chapter at the most..?" Kiki snickers. "Plus, Point of View changes are a thing in this story."

I open my mouth to object, but Sonya interrupts.

"If you guys are done breaking the forth wall.. She's on the move again." She looks back at us

"That took a long time..." Mason stands and offers a hand to help Firo up. "You think she knows we're following her..?"

"Nah.. let's go." Kiki grins and stands

We all follow her, completely dropping the subject

It doesn't take long before Evi stops, and suddenly kneels down

"What is she doing..?" Thresh blinks

We all hear a small click, and the sound of stone's grinding together, but none of us can see what actually happens.

Evi suddenly stands and jumps, disappearing under the surface of the ground

"Follow her!! Quickly!!" Sonya points and we all obey, sprinting up to a large hole in the ground where Evi had jumped through.

Thresh panics. "I am NOT going down there!!"

"Oh yes you are!" Firo looks at him

"You can't make me!!" Thresh scrambles to stand

Firo grabs Thresh and lifts him off the ground and he panics

"Let's go!" Firo grins

"You crazy dragon lady put me down!" Thresh panics as he struggles

"Okay, before you do something irrational-- Why don't I just teleport us down..?" Mason offers

Firo pauses and looks at him.

And after completing Mason's plan, it was obvious to everyone that Mason's plan was definitely better than us jumping into the pit and getting all our legs broken.

"Hey!" Firo glares at me.

"What..?" I pause, realizing. "Oh.. I said that one out loud didn't I.." I laugh a bit. "Whoops.."

"I know that plan was stupid but it was the first thing that came to mind! I mean, Evi did it and she didn't die!" Firo glares

"You're right.. But I doubt any of you would be able to survive a fall like that."

"Exactly." I nod, then pause. "Who...?" I slowly turn around

Evi is standing there with her arms crossed. "I thought I told you to stay behind.."

"You did." Mason states. "We just ignored you." He laughs a bit

Evi sighs and rubs her forehead, annoyed. "Well.. At least you didn't bring Sonya with you..."

Firo's laugh is a bit nervous as Sonya steps out from behind her. "Whoops.."

Evi looks up, and then at Sonya, and immediately looks furious. "I can't believe you--! Go back up there right now! I'm not letting you idiots put her life in danger! Go ba--!"

The sound of moving stones interrupts her, and we all look up to see that the cave's opening is being sealed again.

Evi glares at Mason. "Teleport back right now!"

"I would love to--" The area around us turns pitch black. "But I can't."

"Why not?" None of us can see the demon's glare, but we can all definitely feel it

"I don't know.. For some reason it's not working." Mason states. "Hasn't since I teleported down here.."

There's silence for a moment, before Evi groans in frustration. "I can't get my magic to work either..."

"I told you guys this was a bad idea..." Thresh's voice is nervous

"Yeah yeah.. You were right." Firo's sarcastic voice replies

A neon blue light catches my eye and I quickly turn to my right. "Mason.. I thought you said you couldn't use your powers!"

"Again, that wasn't mine." Mason's annoyed voice comes from behind me

"Then what is that..?" Sonya is confused. A small shadow blocks the light for a moment, and we can hear a sound like a door being opened as the cave floods with a soft light. The light is brighter where Sonya is, and outlines an open door.

"A secret door in a cave... That's not ominous at all." Thresh looks at Firo

"You've made your point, but it's way too late to turn back now.." Firo grins and walks over to Sonya. "Let's go."

Evi looks annoyed as she follows. "There is  no way I'm letting you take Sonya anywhere dangerous.." She glares

"Oh quit being so paranoid and just relax.. She's already in the cave, and it's not like things can get any more dangerous from here." Firo states

"Please don't jinx it.." Thresh sighs. 

"And don't tell me to relax! You basically kidnapped her!" Evi growls

"Oh whatever." Firo rolls her eyes and walks out the door into the better-lit area

"Don't worry." Sonya smiles up to Evi. "I'll be okay. I'm not completely defenseless you know." The small child gently takes the demon's hand and leads her through the door

"Please don't tell me we're going in there...." Thresh whimpers

"Fine. I won't tell you." Kiki states and drags Thresh through the door

Thresh groans. "This might be the dumbest thing we've ever done..."

"Maybe, but you are  curious to see how this ends, right? And anxious to meet who exactly we've been chasing down this whole time?" Mason asks as we follow

"No.." Thresh groans. "If anything, I'm just anxious to leave..."  

Behind the door is a hallway of sorts, a circular corridor that descends deeper into the ground as the cave progresses downwards. The source of the light seems to be coming from deep within this area of the cave

"Come on, where's your sense of adventure?" Kiki grins

"Oh, my mistake, I probably left it up on the surface! Along with my powers!" Thresh glares a bit. "I mean, seriously! Does this not sound like a death trap to anyone else?!" He looks at Mason. "Not just anyone can create magic-draining barriers!"

"Well... You do have a point there.. But Evi doesn't seem to be scared." Mason states.

"Kid, I've been alive for more or less 4,000 years by now, not much scares me anymore..." Evi states

"You look pretty good for being 4,000 years old.." Kiki blinks

"That's cause I'm talking 4,000 Earth years... But obviously, all species and all different planets measure time differently.. That includes demons. Back where I'm from, I'm only like 25 years old." Evi states

"See? We've got a demon on our side- whatever we're facing, she can probably handle it." Mason confidently nods

"Kid-- just because I'm not scared doesn't mean you're safe." Evi looks back at us

"Plus- Evi tends to be more reckless and laid-back in these situations." Sonya states. "It's true, she is incredibly strong.. But there are some things that even she can't handle.. But even despite that, she charges in head first to every challenge.. " Sonya states.

"Plus.. I'm here to protect Sonya, not the rest of you." Evi snickers, and Sonya lightly slaps her arm. "Alright, I'll defend the lot of you if I need to.... But if it's really who I think it is, then you might be in a whole lotta trouble, even if I'm here."

"We're so dead.." Thresh whimpers

Kiki blinks and suddenly stops moving as she looks at something to her left.

Mason and I stop with her as Evi, Firo, and Sonya continue to walk down the corridor.

"What is it?" Thresh blinks

Kiki releases his arm and walks over to the wall, where a small beam of neon blue light is shining through.  

"Kiki?" He blinks

"I don't know.." Kiki shrugs as she waves a hand in front of the light. The beam of light just goes right through her hand. "But it's definitely something..."

"Hey! Firo! Kiki found something!" Mason yells to them

"Like what?" Sonya calls back.

"We're not sure!" Thresh yells. The three of them turn around and start walking towards us again

Kiki pauses, and pokes the source of the light, trying to see where the light is coming from

The light suddenly expands and gets brighter, but no longer acts like a flashlight, the light all staying within the wall

"Hey! It did a thing!" Kiki pokes the source of the light again and it expands to about the size of a basketball. The light starts to swirl

Kiki grins and repeatedly pokes the wall until the light is about the size of a door

"Cool!" She tries to jab it again, but her hand goes through the light and she falls into it, completely disappearing inside

"What just happened?!" Thresh panics

"It's a portal, genius.. She's on the other side." Evi stops next to us

"A portal...?" Mason blinks

Evi nods. "Now we can turn back.."

"But what about Kiki?" Mason looks at Evi. "Shouldn't we help her?"

"And dive through a portal with an unknown location?" Evi raises an eyebrow. "For all we know it leads to a dimension where everything is made out of fire." She pauses and looks at it. "I'll pass, thank you very much."

A hand suddenly jabs out of the portal and yanks Evi through

Sonya panics and quickly follows.

"Might as well." Firo shrugs and she and Mason run through together

I look at Thresh and he quickly shakes his head. "I'm not going in there."

"Oh yes you are." I push him through the shrinking portal and dive through before the portal blinks out of existance
