AHAaaAAa THIS IS SLIGHTLY EARLY COMPARED TO MY USUAL UPDATES

Recap:

"Mason-- there's nothing the headmistress can do." Kanna frowns. "I realize you're upset but we need to think rationally.."

Sonya nods. "I don't want you to do anything bad." She looks up at Evi

"And you don't want to end up getting suspended as well." Thresh looks at Mason

"For now, let's just talk to Sonya and Evi like we planned on doing and get to know them better.. Okay?" Kanna smiles

"And possibly get Evi to ditch her current form for a new one so I can braid her hair..." Kiki smiles

We all carry on talking and move to the "lounge" area with the chairs and couches, and a beanbag that Kanna had brought into a room. Sonya had brought some incredible Pad Thai, strange for a girl that looks so young to have such a professional cooking skill. Everything returned to normal and everyone appeared happy, all was well with the world again

However, even as things continued as normal, there were two people in particular that seemed to have a certain goal in mind, that was far from everyone else

Other than that, the rest of the afternoon went relatively well. No one tried to kill each other and Kiki braided Sonya's hair after the 300th time Evi said no, and we even got Mason to perk up.

By seven o'clock Nami decided to cut the gathering short, cause we all really did have homework to do, which considering the loss of four hours, was now going to take us the rest of the night.

What kind of homework would take us five hours to complete? The kind that we missed out on all opportunities to work on over the course of our crazy lives.
We all ended up falling asleep anyway, whether we were sitting in a chair or on the ground
All of this running around and chasing Firo or running from what we think is chasing us, starts to tire us out eventually
I guess we all subconsciously decided that we deserved some rest. And so we rested and woke up the next morning, refreshed and well rested.

Except we didn't.

One of my ears briefly twitches as I hear quiet footsteps around me, and I awake five minutes later to someone quickly shaking my shoulder.
"Yeah...?" I sit up slowly. "What is it..?" I rub my eyes and look at the person who woke me. "Did we fall asleep..?"

Kanna looks panicked. "Mason is gone." My hearing is a little fuzzy, probably from the sudden awakening

"What?!" That wakes me up real fast

"Someone tripped on me and I saw them escape through the window .. I think something really bad is about to happen..." Thresh panics.

"That makes no sense... I would've heard them come in.. and don't you think Mason would've put up a fight or teleport-- or at least  yell or make some kind of noise...? Plus, I definitely would've heard something if someone was in here..."

Kiki reaches out and grabs something from the top of my head, and removes it

"Better?" She asks, her voice clear

"Uhh.. yeah, actually..." I blink

"Yeah I would think it would be hard to hear us with that towel on your ears." Kiki blinks

"Towel...? oh... That explains the muffle...." I look at the red towel  in her hand

Kiki nods

"Guys-- we have to go find Mason." Thresh states. "Quickly.."

"He probably just went hom--"
An engine starts from outside

"Yeah I'm sure he's just going for a little drive at three in the morning.. With the car he doesn't have.."

"Riiiiiight... Okay you have a small point lets go." I stand and the four of us quietly make our way out of the apartment and down the stairwell

We make it in time to see a small brake-light quickly moving away from the apartment. 

Considering how small the brake light was, I couldn't help but be sarcastic. "So they kidnapped him in a vehicle that small..?" I raise an eyebrow. 

Kanna pulls me into Thresh's car.

"Either way- it's three in the morning, Mason is gone, the door was locked when we went through it so no one unlocked it to get out- meaning he couldn't have left through the door.. And someone purposefully covered your ears so you couldn't hear!!" Kanna looks at me

"I'm just saying, It sounds like you're jumping to a whole lot of conclusions... We don't know how that towel got there and Mason could've taken Firo's house key from her room and locked the door behind him.." I yawn

"Someone was climbing through the window and stepped on Thresh!!" Kanna points out

"That could've been Mason-"

"You seriously think he just went through the window?!" Kanna looks at me

"Maybe...?" I yawn. "I'm really starting to get sick of all of these midnight adventures... "

"I think they're fun!!" Kiki smiles

"You think everything is fun.." Kanna looks at her

"You guys take things too seriously." Kiki shrugs. "Sometimes it's better to let go and live instead of coiling yourself up and stressing constantly.." 

"Maybe... Kanna could stand to let go a little more." I look at her. "And now that I think about it-- so could Thresh." 

"Don't rope me into this." Thresh briefly glances back at me.

"And don't scold me about letting go." Kanna crosses her arms

"But you could absolutely let go a lot more." Me and Kiki speak in unison

Thresh suddenly slams his foot on the break and I hit the seat in front of me. 

"You weren't wearing your seat belt..?" Kanna looks at me from her place in the front.

I dizzily sit up and get back into my seat and click my seatbelt into place

"I think you're relaxing a little too much." Kanna laughs a bit, then looks ahead of us

"Yeah, I'm not even that carefree--" Kiki blinks and follows Kanna's eyes

"I was woken up in the middle of the night.. It's only been a week since we last did this, and I haven'y exactly recovered what remains of my sense..." I rub my forehead. "Plus-- I'm still frazzled from being awoken so suddenly...."

Thresh opens his door and steps outside the car. 

I blink and looks at Kiki. "What's his problem...?"

Kiki is focused on what's ahead of us. Her and Kanna get out of the car

I blink in confusion. "What is it..?" 

"Are you crazy?! I could've killed you!" Thresh's voice yells from outside

I quickly open my car door and stand up to look infront of the car

Sonya is standing in front of the car with a slightly panicked look on her face, but she's calming. "I knew you wouldn't hit me.." Her eyes and hair are a slightly dark grey. She also has a strange pink ribbon tied around her waist, and several pouches tied to said ribbon.. An odd fashion choice- but that's hardly important now, she just jumped infront of a moving car. Oh hey! A fourth wall break! Classic! Truth be told I don't think I had one in the last chapter but I'll have to recheck- and make all of you reread the last chapter to see for yourselves

"Sonya...?" I blink. "What are you doing out so late?"

"Evi is gone.." She whimpers
(Shhhhh Psychic, I know she has a way to easily find Evi. It's necessary for plot reasooooons)

"Her too..?" Thresh frowns

Someone honks at us from behind. 

"Okay maybe we shouldn't do this here.."

Sonya has joined your team

(HaaAAaAAaAAAAa RPG jokes)

"So why are you guys out so late..?" Sonya asks once we had calmed down.

"We're looking for Mason.." I explain

:He's missing too..?" Sonya asks, I nod in response

"You see, we were all asleep and someone stepped on Thresh's head while he was asleep, he says that he saw someone leaving the apartment through the window so that probably wasn't Mason...And someone also covered Kat's ears with a towel so we think someone was trying to block her hearing to them... And Firo was kidnapped a week ago and it sounds an awful lot like the same guys came for Mason based on the overwhelming evidence that someone broke in, rendered the strongest ears in the room useless, 'accidentally' kicked Thresh in the head, and escaped with Mason through the window..." Kanna explains further

"Or maybe it's all a coincidence." I whistle

"Maybe you're just over stressing..." Kiki whistles 

"So we're going to the human academy to see if he's there." Kanna ignores us. 

"So how did you find out Evi was missing?" I look back at Sonya, who has her eyes closed. 

"Oh.." I blink. "I think she's aslee--!!"

Thresh suddenly turns left

"What-- Hey! Thresh! This isn't the way to--!"

"Where next?" Thresh interrupts Kanna

He pauses for a few seconds, then veers right, then left again, down an alley. 

"Where are you go--?!" Thresh turns out of the alley and turns left

"Make a left and..?!" Thresh looks in Kanna's direction, but he doesn't appear to be looking directly at her. "What next!!"

"I didn't say anything...?" Kanna is confused. 

"Sonya what next!!"

"Uhh...." I look back at Sonya, who is still asleep

Thresh speeds up and turns right

"You feeling okay Thresh..?" Kiki blinks

An almost holographic version of Sonya appears between Thresh and Kanna, "Sorry! I should've made myself visible to all of you.."

Kiki and I look between Sonya and her hologram duplicate

"Oh my stars- she's dead not sleeping!!" Kanna panics "She's a ghost!!" 

"No- No!!" Sonya shakes her head quickly. "I'm fine- just in your daydreamscape!" 

"Our what...?" Kiki blinks in confusion

"Daydreamsc-- Make a right!"

Thresh quickly obeys and turns

"I don't have time to explain... For now, I'm a hologram version of myself only visible when I present myself to you willingly.. And when you're awake..." She gives us a temporary explanation. "Right!" Holo-Sonya disappears and the real Sonya opens her eyes

Thresh obeys Sonya's instruction and turns into an alley, then stops. "Mason..?"

I look ahead through the windshield and see Mason on the back of a motercycle with what I assume is Evi wearing her typical biker helmet. This explains the small break-lights. We all quickly get out of the car and Sonya quickly runs over to Evi and hugs her as the demon takes off her helmet.

"You two...? Why.....?" Kanna retraces our driving steps and realizes that we're only two miles away from the holding center where Firo is being temporarily kept

"You-- You were just gonna break her out anyway?!" Kanna looks at Mason

 "Listen... Firo's trial is two days from now! The whole thing is rigged, you know it is! That brat William is testifying, and our headmistress- but that's it!! Plus-- the judge was definitely paid off and you all know it-- I needed to break Firo out, otherwise she's going to court and then jail-- can't you understand that??!" Mason is frustrated.   

"But---!!  Wait... Were you the one climbing through the window...?" Kanna looks at Evi

"Nooooooo.." Evi makes an attempt to lie 

Sonya frowns

"So that red towel was yours?!" Kiki looks at Evi

"Nooooooooooooo....." Evi attempts to lie again 

"You're the one that made me wake up at three in the morning AGAIN?!" I glare a bit

"Nooooooooooooooooooo......" Evi looks away from us

Sonya pouts and digs around in one of the strange pouches tied to her belt

"And you stepped on my head..?" Thresh rubs the side of his face

"Noooooo--" Sonya blows a white dust into Evi's face "-Yes."

Kiki blinks "What was that....?

"Oh-- that was my truth dust.." Sonya blinks and gestures to the pouch on her ribbon belt that she had gotten the dust from

"Truth dust....?" Kiki blinks in confusion

"Yeah-- dust that my kind makes..... It forces people to tell the truth for a period of time..." Sonya blinks. "Depending on how much you use-- it can last for a minute or much much longer."

"Truth dust...?" Mason looks at the pouch. "Truth dust?!"

"Yeah.. You didn't hear me...?" Sonya blinks

"Why---?! Why didn't you tell me about this before?!" Mason looks at Evi

"Uhhh... Why would I..?" Evi is confused

Sonya seems to realize where Mason is going with this

"Firo's trial is in 40 hours..... And before now, our only problem was that brat not telling the truth!" Mason is excited.

"So..?" Kanna blinks in confusion. "You're point?"

 "Forget breaking into a mini prison to jailbreak Firo--- Let's use that dust on that brat and get him to tell the truth in the trial!!" He grins. "We'll get Firo out of being jailed--- and that spoiled hateful brat will finally get what he deserves for getting Firo in this mess in the first place!" A full grin spreads across Mason's face, in what is the first happy expression I've seen from him ever since Firo was suspended.
