This is a little later than I would've liked, but I prioritized school whooooops

Anywaaay

  We stop infront of the door as a human man no older than forty steps into the academy  

He looks at us.
"Charles Hanbridge.." Thresh whispers, extremely nervous

"What are you doing here...?" The headmaster glares furiously at us

William walks up beside us, a little timid. "Father, let me explain...."

The man turns his glare onto his son.

William takes a deep breath. And points to Firo. "She broke in here!"

"What?!" Firo shrieks

"As you probably saw, the lock on the front gates is melted! And one of the windows in the front of our esteemed academy is broken!"

"What?!" Firo shrieks again

"She burned the door to my room and broke in!! Then chased me down the hall while throwing fire at me!!" William yells

"What?!" Firo shrieks for a third time

"Then she chased me all around the school- and look what she did to all of our display cases!"

William points to the trophy room. Indeed, most of the glass cases were broken, and the pictures inside burned

"She even gave poor Annabelle a black eye!" William points to the ginger human girl from before, who was now sobbing as if she had been tortured

"I did not!" Firo yells

"Silence witch!" Charles yells at Firo

Firo glares silently

"I am glad you are unharmed, William." The headmaster nods to his son

He slowly turns to our group. "Now as for you....." He sharply glares

Long story short, all of us except Firo were escorted out, getting a pat on the back for attempting to stop the heinous criminal that had broken into the academy.

Mason didn't want to leave, but the security guards that showed up refused to let us back in, and even if Mason teleported in, he was very quickly brought back out. It didn't take long before the security told us to control him, and much to his disagreement, we did.

Firo didn't show up to school the next day, nor did she show up the next day. We went to the headmistress for answers and found out that Firo had been suspended for her criminal actions, and was now being temporarily held in a human facility while they figured out whether or not to send her to prison or a juvenile detention center. While her situation annoyed all of  us, we gave up after the fifth time we tried to convince her that Firo hadn't done anything. The headmistress told us each time that it was out of her hands, she knew that there was a good chance we were telling the truth, but there was nothing she could do. However, Mason went back the day after and talked to her again, and then went back the next day.

It's been about a week since Firo was suspended, day 8 to be exact, and I was leaving school with Kiki and Thresh. 

As we're walking to the main exit, the door to the headmistresses office opens and a slightly-frustrated Mason leaves the room, he spots us and walks over.

"Still talking to her??" Thesh asks

"I'm not going to stop trying.." Mason is calming, but a bit of his frustration returns at the last second. "The only thing keeping her there is Hanbridge, they would have let her go if he wasn't pressing charges so hard." We exit the school

"In that case it probably won't be long until he starts bribing people--" Kiki is inturrupted when Thresh elbows her.

"I mean... There's no way he'll use his millions of dollars on bribing people to put her in jail! He'll probably spend it were him I'd spend it oooon.. Education...?" Kiki tries to play it off 

"Smooth." Thresh states as he climbs into the driver's seat of his car

Mason sighs

"We're going over to Kanna's to study-- you wanna come?" I quickly change the subject as me and Kiki climb into the car aswell

"Sure.. I guess..." Mason pauses

"Come on then."I smile

Mason hops into Thresh's car and he starts driving

"So when exactly are we going to start rotating this driving operation of ours?" Thresh asks.

"Probably when Kanna gets a car.." I shrug

"Right..." Thresh laughs slightly. 

We arrive at Kanna's apartment within a short amount of time, and calmly walk up the stairs up to Kanna's apartment.

"Here we are..." Mason states as he opens the door.

We all walk though Firo's room and into the main area. 

"This apartment is so weirdly structured.." Kiki comments, trying to distract Mason from the fact that Firo's room was empty. "I mean why put a bedroom in the place where the front door opens...?"

"It was supposed to be an entryway.. Firo turned it into a bedroom." Kanna exits her room and closes the door. 

"Oh.." Kiki blinks.

"I wasn't really expecting my apartment entryway to be destroyed by Firooo-ooh Mason.. Hello." Kanna nervously waves

Mason waves calmly

"Sooo... Studying.." Nami quickly chimes in from her place in the kitchen

"Right.. Studying.. Classes.. All that... Stuff.." I sit on the couch, which was a little strange without couch cushions. Kiki refused to let anyone take down her fort

"Better get started.." Kanna laughs nervously.

"Of course." Thresh quickly nods

"Classes are important and we are all students after all." Kiki nods even faster than Thresh

It was obvious that we were all avoiding something, but none of us wanted to bring it up.. The only exception being

Dogost blinks. "Why aren't you guys talking about Firo..?"

The room goes silent

 until a very loud and sudden knock on the door interrupts the mutual uncomfort 

Kanna gets up to answer the door, leaving the rest of us in silence. 

We can hear a muffled conversation:

"Oh-- Oh! It's you two..." Kanna sounds surprised

"Move. Now." A rather impatient voice speaks

"Be nice." A younger voice lectures

"Right.." The first voice sounds a bit annoyed.

Footsteps approach the main area and the door opens again, Kanna walking out 

She is followed by the two "visitors"

A young silver haired girl dragging a rather annoyed red headed woman behind her

"It's you.." Nami blinks in surprise

A book whizzes past Evi's head and she immediately looks at Thresh

"Sorry.. Just nerves... From the last time we saw you...." Thresh is slightly uncomfortable, but not completely scared

Sonya frowns, then cheers up. "I told Kat we would be coming by soon!" She smiles at me

Everyone turns their heads to look at me.

"Oops.. Did I not mention that..?" I laugh nervously

"Yeah, no, you conveniently left that out of our conversations for the last week." Kanna glares a bit. 

"Whoops.."

Sonya smiles happily. "Then it's a surprise!! But not really.. It may have taken us a bit longer than expected, but you knew we were coming!" 

"Right.." Mason sits on the couch next to me

"So-- why don't we start talki--" Sonya's cheery tone is interrupted 

"Hold on a second-- if I'm gonna be forced to talk to all of you and act all friendly, then there is no way I'm doin it sober.." She pauses. "Where do you keep your alcohol?"

"Ummm.." Kanna blinks

"Oh wait, you're students... Ya don't drink.." She reaches inside her jacket and starts to pull out a flask of some kind

"You're not drinking." Sonya tugs on her arm

 Evi pauses and looks at Sonya.

"You're not drinking." Sonya repeats. 

"But--"

"Don't make me get that hangover cure again." Sonya seems to almost threaten the demon, and it works

Evi puts the flask away as if this "cure" brings back some unpleasant memories. "That sh*t tastes terrible."

Sonya smiles happily and turns to us again. "Alright-- Can we start over? Please? I know she scared you but she can be good I promise." She seems excited to attempt to make friends with us

"You did a lot more than scare us.." Mason glares a bit at Evi

Evi raises an eyebrow. "Remind me again why I'm attempting to make nice with all of ya? I hate small talk..."

Sonya frowns. "Because you should be nice to them- you promised you would be.. I don't want you to scare people anymore." She sniffles 

Evi sighs, and nods, putting a reassuring hand on Sonya's shoulder. "Okay kid." She smiles a little

"It is so weird to see you smile..." Kiki blinks

Evi's eyebrow twitches but Kiki isn't bothered at all as she smiles.

"Question- can I braid your hair?" Kiki asks

Evi looks at Kiki and raises an eyebrow. "You do realize how short my hair is, right?"

"It's not always that short though.." Sonya blinks

"Maybe not.. But I'm not gonna discard this form for a new one just so-- whats her name can braid my hair... Kabori would kill me." Evi states

"You know she wouldn't." Sonya states, then blinks. "Oh-- right! First step! Names! I don't even know all of your names!"

She points to Mason. "What's your name?"

"Mason.." He replies.

"Then theirs Kat.." Sonya follows the natural order.

Kiki introduces herself as the pointed finger reaches her. "I'm Kiki."

"Kanna." Kanna nods slightly

"Thresh." Sonya nods when she points to him, though he looks confused as to how she knows his name, but she moves on without explanation.

"Dogost.." Sonya nods

Dogost looks happy that he was remembered

"Sorry about what Evi did to you.. I know she scared you a lot." Sonya frowns

"It's fine!!" Dogost smiles in assurance. "I'm sure she's nice just like you said!"

Mason taps his foot impatiently

"And." Sonya points to Nami

"My name is N-"

"Nami! You went to the same academy Evi did!" Sonya smiles

"Umm.. Yeah, that's right.. I did..." Nami blinks in surprise. 

Sonya gestures to herself. "My name is Sonya as you know.." She gestures to the woman beside her. "And this is Evel- Evi. Her name is Evi." She corrects her slip up quickly

Kanna raises a suspicious eyebrow.

The demon appears to be doing a headcount.

"Okay-- now I want to talk to all of y--"

"Hold on.." Evi looks confused. "One of you is missing.... The fire one.. Uhh..." She snaps her fingers a few times. "Firo! Yeah that's her name-- where exactly is she?"

Mason stands and claps his hands together. "Finally! I know you're all trying to avoid it but I can't!" He sighs in frustration. "She didn't do anything wrong!"

Evi seems a lot more interested then she was before. "Wait- what happened?"

"Evi.." Sonya looks up at her

"She was framed and now she's waiting to be thrown in jail! But the whole thing was set up! She was kidnapped and the human that did it is holding it out until he can bribe the judge enough to make him rule guilty! We know she's innocent but no one's doing anything!" Mason is frustrated

"Evi.." Sonya speaks up

Evi grins. "Great!" She pulls a set of keys out of her jacket pocket. 

"What do you mean great?!" Mason glares a bit

"I mean it's an excuse to get out of small talk, and kick someone's a**! And this time the person actually deserves it!" Evi grins as she spins the keys around on one of her fingers

Mason blinks in surprise. 

"You wanna break your girlfriend out of jail- let's do it! Right now!" Evi grins

"Evi!" Sonya frowns. 

Evi stops spinning the keys and looks at Sonya. 

"You're not going to hunt down a human, and you're not going to break someone of a containment facility." Sonya frowns. "Those things are both against the law.."

"But--" Both Mason and Evi try to protest

"Sonya is right- we don't even know if Hanbridge is responsible for keeping Firo in temporary confinement for so long-- and we don't know if he's planning on bribing anyone.. THe best thing we can do is trust that she'll be found innocent."

"But we know she's innocent! And she's still suspended!" Mason protests

"She was suspended to?" Evi blinks

"Mason-- there's nothing the headmistress can do." Kanna frowns. "I realize you're upset but we need to think rationally.." 

Sonya nods. "I don't want you to do anything bad." She looks up at Evi

"And you don't want to end up getting suspended as well." Thresh looks at Mason

"For now, let's just talk to Sonya and Evi like we planned on doing and get to know them better.. Okay?" Kanna smiles

"And possibly get Evi to ditch her current form for a new one so I can braid her hair..." Kiki smiles

We all carry on talking and move to the "lounge" area with the chairs and couches, and a beanbag that Kanna had brought into a room. Sonya had brought some incredible Pad Thai, strange for a girl that looks so young to have such a professional cooking skill. Everything returned to normal and everyone appeared happy, all was well with the world again

However, even as things continued as normal, there were two people in particular that seemed to have a certain goal in mind, that was far from everyone else
