Recap cause why not:

In the middle of this fourth-wall break I spot something out of the corner of my eye and turn to look at it
A small squeak of fear emits from a young pale girl as I look over to her. Her head was poking up from where she was sitting on the couch, and she seemed to be slightly scared of us being there.
Her eyes and hair were silver and she was a bit pale, but I couldn't see the rest of her
She suddenly stands and scrambles out of the room and into the wood hallway, a few seconds later we hear a door slam

"A child..?"

"A what..? What do you mean a child?" Firo blinks in confusion and looks at me as she picks up the front door and props it up in the now-empty doorway so that way it looks normal from the outside

"A kid.. she was hiding behind the couch... she ran back there.." I point in the direction of the long hallway

"Top ten things you don't expect to find in a demon's house." Alice laughs

"I never saw a kid when I was spying into this place.." Firo blinks

"That's still stalking." Thresh points out

"Same difference." Firo states

"Hello! There is a terrified child who just ran away terrified cause we broke into her house!" Nami reminds us, "Shouldn't we do something about that?!"

"You mean run in there and make sure she doesn't summon Evi so that way we don't die?" Firo asks

"Please tell me you're not planning on literally sprinting in there and ambushing that poor girl." Kanna looks at Firo.

"Well the longer we wait the more time she has to summon a demon sooooo.." Firo takes quick steps backward and into the long hallway

"Please be more rational about this." Mason quickly follows Firo. "She's only a child."

"A child living inside a mind demon's house.. What a strange encounter.." Kiki giggles from her spot, where she was sitting next to Alice

"I still don't like being here." Alice crosses her arms

"But it's interesting to see!" Kiki smiles

"I guess.." Alice states as she picks up a small pink teacup from the kitchen counter and looks at the butterfly designs on it. "I still don't understand why a mind demon would bother taking care of a child."

"Maybe she's married?" Thresh points out

"With that face? I doubt anyone could love her." Alice states. "Plus it's kinda hard to love mind demons at all..." She shivers slightly. "Some of the stuff they do is just sickening.."

"That's true.. out of all the demon species, they're definitely the worst k-" Nami is interrupted by a sudden loud thud echoing from the long dark hallway behind us, the thud followed by a small squeak, but not from a mouse, from a person

I slowly turn my head to look over at the hallway, but nothing was there

So like any dumb teenager in the beginning of a horror film, I decided to check out the noise in the dark area, completely alone

I walk through the dark beige-walled hallway, where there were no doors.  there was a mirror hung on the wall, and several framed pictures and drawings of the red haired demon and the small silver-eyed girl. Some of the drawings looked professionally drawn and others looked like the child had drawn them herself. By far the most surprising thing about the pictures and drawings, was the fact that in all of them, both the girl and the demon were smiling.

At the end of the hallway was a right turn, so I walked right. There was no other place to go anyway. The turn led to another hallway, which was shorter than the last one and had three doors on opposite walls of the short hallway. The door on the left was plain dark wood, and the door on the right was painted a light pastel pink. These walls were also decorated with a few pictures. The last door was straight ahead and was also plain. The pink door was open just a crack. Alright now that I'm done narrating with all the small details, I can finally move onto the elephant in the room. Firo and Mason were both out cold and sleeping on the floor with a little bit of a red powdery substance scattered around them

"Umm.. Guys..?!" I call across the long hallway. "We've got a small problem.."

"Whatever it is it definitely can't be any worse than this.." Thresh's voice is extremely nervous

"What do you mean?" I blink

I hear a lot of shuffling foot steps and suddenly the entire group is with me, all of them standing in the shorter door hallway with me, so that if anyone opened the door, they wouldn't be able to see us without walking over

Dogost looks very nervous and even slightly scared, he had morphed back into his ghost dog form and Nami was holding him. "Evi's back.."

"She's what?!" I panic

"A motorcycle just pulled up to the house.." Kanna is taking the occasional frantic look at the door. "But she's talking to someone outside... So we have a little time."

"Not enough time! Firo said we had four hours!" Thresh says in an emphasizing whisper, then blinks and looks at Mason and Firo's bodies

"What happened to them?" He panics

"Are they dead?" Kanna panics

"No no they'll still breathing, but as to how they ended up asleep is a mystery to me..."

"That girl definitely wasn't strong enough to knock them unconscious.." Kanna pauses

"Maybe she was..." Thresh picks up a small amount of the red dust substance on the floor

"Does it matter?! We have to get out of here!" I panic

"Clearly! But there's only one exit and a mind demon is blocking it!" Nami holds a frightened Dogost

"Then we should hide!" Kiki giggles as she pokes at a photograph of the girl, who was eating some sort of rock candy, in what looked like a renaissance fair of some kind where everyone was dressed in old-timey clothes. The third time she pokes it, the frame falls and lands face down on the floor. The sound of glass breaking seemed equivalent to the sound of someone screaming into a microphone with the volume cranked all the way up

Kiki picks up the picture and small bits and pieces of glass fall onto the ground she hangs the picture up again, which has broken glass pieces in the corners, but the rest of it is lacking glass. "Oops."

"Maybe she won't notice when she gets in here..?" Alice offers a small glimmer of hope

"Either way we need to get Mason and Firo out of here and into a place where we can hide from Evi.."

"Maybe we can hind in that room?" Kanna points to the door at the end of the hallway. "Maybe she won't look th-"

The front door "opens," meaning it falls when Evi pushes it and the door slams on the ground with a loud smack. we all immediately go quiet.

The mind demons familiar voice: "What the f**k happened to the door...? Uhh, Hey Sonya?! I'm home! I'm back 'cause.."

None of us bothered listening to the rest. We were all too focused on picking  up Mason and Firo and slowly making our way to the end of the short hallway

Footsteps were rapidly approaching us. "Sonya? Where are ya? Ya know you really scare me when you decide to play  these random games a' hide n'seek..."

Yeah we didn't make it to the door in tine, but we had managed to all shuffle together in one corner with Firo and Mason with us

The mind demon walks into view, but miraculously, she doesn't see us. Not a single glance in our direction..
Dogost had turned us all invisible due to our close contact. Relief swept over all of us, but it wasn't over

"Hello? Sonya? You're really starting t'scare me.." Evi cautiously looks around the short hallway. She takes another step forward and the glass from the shattered picture gets trapped under her black boots. The glass under her foot makes a final snapping noise and falls silent. Evi slowly looks up at the picture with no glass and seems to actually be worried

She quickly walks up to Sonya's door and quickly opens it. "Kid? Where are y-"

The same girl suddenly sprints out of the room and quickly clings to Evi's leg in a "hug" her eyes and hair which before were a shining silver, were now a dark-ish grey

Wait hold on.. that can't be the same child... But she definitely was.. she had the same face as the girl from before.. Just her hair and eye color was darker than before
Now that I finally had a clear view of her, I could see that her now-grey hair was surprisingly long. And that she was wearing a pure white short dress, with no shoes. She was surprisingly adorable for a mind demon's henchmen, a light pink ribbon tied around her waist in a bow, with small colored sewn pouches all tied to the ribbon around her waist as well

The second the young girl tackles her leg, Evi immediately looks relieved. "There you are..." She then notices the girls dark-grey eyes and hair. "Sonya?! Sonya what happened?" She's panicked and worried once again

"There's people in here, they broke the door in.." The girl, who is apparently named Sonya is whimpering slightly

"Yeah I noticed.." Evi is looking around cautiously.

"You won't hurt them right?" Sonya frowns. "I had to use red dust to make two of them sleep cause they tried to open my door but I don't want you to hurt them.. They seemed to just be exploring."

"Exploring, huh?" And then she started walking towards the end of the hallway, with Sonya trailing behind her

"Please don't hurt them.." Sonya frowns. Her hair and eyes had slowly returned to their bright silver again since Evi had arrived. "I think they were just curious."

Dogost suddenly jumps out of Nami's arm and in mid-air he changes back to his human form and lands on his feet as a boy. Since Dogost had left, we were all now visible. "I think we got off on the wrong foot." He says quickly

Sonya immediately hides behind Evi.

"Umm..." Thresh nervously laughs. "Hi."

"Oh it's all of you again... How the hell did you even know I lived here?" Evi blinks

"Umm.. Firo was kinda spying on you.." Nami nervously laughs

"In that case I'm glad that she's one of the people you used red dust on." Evi laughs as she looks back at Sonya

"You know them?" Sonya looks up at Evi

"Technically, yes. I tried to hunt down a ghost they were friends with on one of my jobs and since then we just keep meeting." Evi states

Sonya sighs. "I hate the job offers you take.."

"I wasn't exactly raised to be anything different." Evi laughs slightly

Sonya sighs. "I know.. But still."

"So the kid is hers.." Thresh whispers

"That's really weird.." Alice whispers back. I mean if she kidnapped her and was keeping her here against her will then I'd expect something like that but she doesn't seem to be scared of her at all--"

"Hey! Stop talking bad about Evi! She's not a bad person!" Sonya lectures.

"You brainwashed that poor girl didn't you?" Thresh frowns

"I did not!" Evi glares. "And she's not my kid!"

"Then why does she live with you?" Alice raises an eyebrow

"Cause she wanted to." Evi shrugs, then pauses and blinks. "Why the f**k am I answering any of your questions..?"

"So you stole her from someone else and brainwashed her into thinking the choice was hers?" Alice keeps her eyebrow raised

"So you're still making accusations that are based solely on the fact that I'm a mind demon?" Evi glares at Alice

"I'd say it's completely fair that I'm doing that considering what your species has done." Alice scowls

"Brainwashed or not that girl is adorable and I wanna braid her hair!!" Kiki giggles happily

"No she didn't brainwash me! Why does everyone always think that..?" Sonya frowns

"Cause she's a mind demon and you're a little girl.." Thresh states. "It's the logical thing to assume."

"But she's not evil!" Sonya frowns

"Her name is 'evil' minus the L." Thresh points out

"So what?" Sonya glares and sticks her tongue out at Thresh. "The name of a person doesn't define who they are, and neither does the species that they're apart of."

"I mean she has a point." Dogost speaks up

"You're defending the demon who was hunting you two months ago.." Nami sighs

"Well we've never actually sat down and talked to her, maybe deep down inside she's just a really kind and innocent loving pers-"

Evi suddenly slams her fist on the wall next to her, punching a clean hole through the wall. Dogost emits a squeak of fear and immediately quiets.

Evi takes her eyes off the floor and slowly looks at us, the scar on her eye pulsing slightly as a red glow seeps from below her scarred and burned skin. "We all done with the pointless banter now? Yes? Good." Evi picks Sonya up and holds her in her arms, in a comfortable hug-like position. "Now then..." She pauses as a sickening wide grin stretches across her face. "If you know what's good for you, you'll forget about this place."

"But.... If she's right about you.. And you took her in and she cares about you and you care about her... Then maybe we could be friends...?" Dogost nervously asks. "I think we just got off on the wrong foot and if we made an effort to get to know each other better.. Then mayb-"

"You think I want to hear the pitiful words of some optimistic mutt?" Evi grins as she chuckles. "You think that this could ever work?" She laughs. "Just that maybe if we really wanted it to, we could be pals?"

"Well.. Kinda.." Dogost whimpers. "Maybe.."

(Psst Read until the end of the chapter don't be shooed away in the next 60 seconds when this is over)

This makes Evi laugh even more. "You damn idiots need to get your heads outta the clouds.."

"But.. She said--"

Evi cuts him off once more. "She doesn't know what she's talking about, trust me." She grins wider. "And if you ever come back here, I'll be sure to kill her brainwashed a** right in front of you." If looks could kill, her glare would definitely be on that list. "So stay out."

The floor drops from underneath all of us, and it takes me a second before I realized we had all fallen through a portal, and we were all back in Thresh's car, somehow all in the same seats we had been in when we arrived

"T-That.. Was t-terrifying.." Dogost trembles in his seat as tears well in his eyes

"That poor girl.." Nami whimpers a bit

----3rd person POV----

"Did you really have to be so mean to them?" Sonya frowns.

"Yeah, they broke into our house." Evi sets her back down on the ground

"You scared the half to death!" Sonya pouts

"I can't believe I had to punch a hole through the wall just to get a point across.." Evi traces the hole she had punched through it. "This is gonna be a b**ch to fix.."

"And will you please stop cursing?" Sonya frowns.

"Fine, fine." Evi shrugs as she walks back into the main area. She picks up her leather jacket from the couch. "This is all I needed to get, and I've gotta get back to work otherwise they'll have my head." She laughs a bit. "I don't think they'll bother you again, but just in case I want you to come with me. I can't leave you here alone when the lock is busted on the front door. She walks up to Sonya with two small pink shoes in hand

"You were scary.." Sonya frowns

"That was the vibe I was goin' for, yeah." Evi sets the shoes down on the floor and Sonya puts them on.

"You scared me.. For a second I thought you were corrupted again..." Sonya whimpers a bit

"Me? Ahh c'mon Sonya, I'm too strong for corruption you know that." Evi smiles to the young girl and offers a hug

"Yeah.." Sonya sighs as she hugs Evi. "I know..."

"Plus if I didn't scare them off, then they'd be back within three days I guarantee." Evi states

Sonya sighs. "Okay.. But you really scared me for a second there.."

"Sorry.." Evi laughs a bit. "I wanted to be convincing."

"You were very convincing." Sonya sighs. "A little too convincing. You terrified that poor boy.. He just wanted to be your friend."

"I know..." Evi sighs. "I felt kinda bad about that.. But they coulda hurt you." She frowns as she opens the door. The group had all quickly drove off after the scare. "And I didn't want that to happen." She states

Sonya hugs Evi. "Thank you.. but please don't scare me like that again.."

Evi slowly hugs back. "Don't worry... I won't."

"And you lied." Sonya pouts

"I know." Evi laughs. "But they believed it, they really think I brainwashed you! Idiots." She laughs

"Don't be mean.." Sonya frowns

"Sorry sorry." Evi laughs. "But they believed it!!"

I rushed the last quarter of this chapter cause I didn't want to make this a three parter but I was also running out of time to write

Speaking of I'm out of time and I really have to leave-- so I'm goibg to end this authors note here--

Sonya is PsychicNature 's character and I added her cause she's adorable and she gives Evi's character more depth and bECAUSE I CAN
