Third person p.o.v.(honestly I should really stop writing this it's useless TwT)
Next thing Gladys knew, Caylee had pressed the emergency button, and now they were all gathered around the table. "She killed Auburn." Caylee said, glaring at Gladys with tears in her eyes. "She killed Auburn. She was with Auburn, and now Auburn's..." Caylee gulped and failed to finish the sentence. "Now do you guys need more explanation?!" Caylee asked angrily, and pointed to Gladys. "I vote her."
"Wait, I didn't kill her, I-" Gladys tried defending, but Nexus and Ruth had already voted Gladys as well. Mooni followed suit. "No, I told her to go to the right side of Seismic Stabilizer... someone else must've-"
"You're caught red-handed two times already. And now you kill Auburn, the person who defended you." Caylee said coldly. "Have you no heart?" "Is... Gladys-is this- true?" Sunni asked. Gladys gulped. "Auburn is... dead... but I didn't kill her! I wouldn't-"
"I don't know anymore." Sunni sighed and voted 'skip'. "Please... the Impostor is making me seem suspicious, it's not me-" But then Tsunami voted Gladys as well. Stephanie voted 'skip', but Madeline voted Gladys.
Gladys was to be thrown out.
Sunni only sighed at the result. Stephanie looked angry, but she too felt hopeless.
"No, please-" Gladys pleaded, but Nexus and Caylee ushered her to the lava pit. "I didn't want to do this. If you'd just been waited a little longer you wouldn't have to die." Caylee said. "If you'd been more careful." "I didn't kill anyone!" Gladys said, but they were cornering her to the edge of the bridge. Below, red hot lava bubbled menacingly, it seemed to be laughing at Gladys.
"Please." Gladys's voice was a quiet tone now, her eyes full of tears. But then, Nexus pushed her off the bridge, into the lava pit. Everything seemed to be in slow motion. Gladys fell, her arm outstretched. She couldn't believe she would die in this way. Strangely, she wasn't mad at anyone. She was mad at the Impostor. The crewmates had every right to vote her off.
Her life flashed before her eyes as the heat of the lava slowly creeped up. "Mom, Dad..." She whispered, her voice a inaudible croak,"I'm sorry I couldn't live. For you." Then she plunged into the lava, and searing pain shot through her. She opened her mouth to scream, but nothing came out.
Then it numbed, the pain turning into coldness. It was so cold it made Gladys want to curl up. A chill shot down her spine as she slowly sank deeper into the lava. Then it turned into pain again, extreme agony this time. A hundred whips lashed out and hit her in every part of her body, she felt she wanted to scream again.
She felt as if she was being dissolved in acid, which was probably true. The lava burned, and she felt even more painful then she had felt ever before. It was pure agony, pain from the deepest part of Hell. She didn't think anyone deserved this. "Black out." She thought. "Please don't make me endure this torture anymore."
Then the pain overtook her, and in the last seconds of her life, the Fates took some pity and made her black out.
~
Nexus averted his gaze as Gladys fell into the lava pit, with a small 'splosh'. He winced as he heard the girl scream as she sank into the lava. He slowly turned to look at lava pool. There was no sign of Gladys, maybe just the extra bubbling.
He heard Caylee breathe a sigh of relief next to him. "We've done it." She murmured. "We're safe." He turned to look at Caylee wearily. "We shouldn't be celebrating." He told her. "We should be mourning." "Mourning? She's the Impostor."Caylee said, with a look of confusion on her face, and a little bit of disgust. "Nevertheless, we killed someone." Nexus said, walking away.
"Okay... we should rest." Ruth said, her tone monotone, but Nexus could hear the weariness in it. The crew flocked back to Dropship. "Hey." Mooni came up next to Nexus. "Are you okay?" "I'm definitely not okay, Mooni." Nexus sighed. "What if Gladys wasn't the Impostor? Then we would've been killers ourselves."
Mooni stiffened. "Well..." They said."Caylee said she was caught red-handed twice. It would have to be terribly smart of the Impostor to be able to frame her that many times." They said, though they were a little doubtful inside too. "Anyways, don't be pessimistic."
They walked back in silence.
~
"Pizza?" Nexus offered Caylee, handing her a slice of pizza. "Thanks." Caylee muttered. As she ate the pizza, she tried to feel upbeat and not so down. The Impostor was dead, now they were safe. But why did Caylee still feel so... down, and miserable inside?
Caylee tried to reassure herself that she did the right thing. Even though she had killed someone, and now she felt a little guilty, but she was the Impostor. An alien. An homicidal alien who killed Lily, Jessica. Perhaps even Aiden.
However, something still felt off. This place still felt unsafe, as if some other dark secret was still uncovered. As if the Impostor was still on the loose. Caylee shook her head. That was impossible. How could Gladys not be the Impostor? Caylee had done the right thing, she was sure.
"Caylee?" "Hm, yeah?" Caylee said. She was fairly sure no one asked her anything. "You have a weird look on your face." Mooni said bluntly. "Oh, um.. it's just that..." Caylee struggled. She didn't want anyone knowing that she felt scared. "Um, the pizza tastes weird."
Nexus winced at her side. "Well, they might have expired." Caylee's stomach lurched. "Uh..." She put down the pizza. Mooni glanced at it, but then looked away. Caylee reached for a cup of water and drank it.
She hoped the water would drench her suspicions. Her fears, churning in her stomach. Alas, it didn't work. "Why?" She asked herself. "Why am I still scared?" She thought. "The Impostor is gone... yet I feel..." A chill ran down Caylee's spine.
"What are you thinking?" Nexus whispered. "What?" Caylee asked. "Your face is scrunched up in concentration." Nexus pointed out. "To be honest..." Caylee sighed. "I just... feel unsafe. And... I think it's weird, as... I mean, Gladys is gone, so... why do I feel this weird sense of dread?"
"I'm not going to lie, I feel the same." Nexus admitted. "What if Gladys wasn't the Impostor?" "What?" Caylee said, turning to look at Nexus. "What if the actual Impostor framed her?"
"That's not possible." Caylee said, but inside, she felt the opposite. Was that why she still felt unsafe? Was that why a feeling of death was settling over her? Because, simply, the Impostor was still here.
"You know I can hear you, right?" Mooni interjected. "Firstly, don't be pessimistic. I've said that a hundred times already." Caylee scowled at them. "I can't help it. It's Polus." "But what if?" Nexus said. "What if... we killed an innocent teammate?"
~
The next day...
~
"Alright." Ruth said, the next morning. "Since we've gotten rid of the Impostor-" "You haven't gotten rid of the Impostor." Stephanie protested angrily. "She wasn't, and isn't, and will never be the Impostor!"
"Stephanie, if it was really her, then you can't change it." Sunni said wearily. Stephanie still looked angry, but she sat back down, all the while glaring at Ruth. Ruth ignored her and said,"I guess we'll still have to complete the tasks."
Some people nodded, now looking more at ease.
"Well then, what are you guys waiting for?" Ruth asked, and walked outside. Nexus looked at Mooni and Caylee. "I'm going to O2." Nexus said. "What about you guys?" "I'll come with you." Caylee said.
"I'm... going to Office." Mooni replied. "Office?" Nexus narrowed his eyes. "Okay. Be careful." "Well there ain't any Impostors now, but I appreciate it." Mooni called as Nexus and Caylee walked towards O2.

Sunni walked towards Lab. They stepped into the outside area, as they began to finish the task on the rocket. Pressing the exclamation marks repeatedly apparently finished the task, they had found out about it way when they were first stranded on Polus.
Sunni completed the task and stood up, heading for the inside of Lab. They finished the temperature task and the align telescope task. This time, they had to find a blue planet ringed with fire. At least that was what it seemed. As they worked on the tasks, they thought about Gladys. "What if she really killed Lily?" Sunni wondered. They realized, that they would never know. And maybe it was better that way. Sunni didn't know if her heart could take it if she ever found out the truth.
Still, it hurt.
They completed both tasks, and were about to head into the bathroom, when they felt something...cold. It wasn't physical, but a chill ran down Sunni's spine. They turned around immediately, expecting to see someone there. Usually, Sunni felt something when someone was behind them. But no one was behind them.
Sunni shivered. Why did they feel so cold? Why did they feel so unsettled? A feeling of death settled over Sunni. "Why? Nobody died here... I shouldn't..." Sunni thought, slowly taking a step back. They forced themselves to calm down. Sunni took a deep breath. They were overreacting. They were too paranoid!
Yet, Sunni still couldn't shake the feeling off. Something was about to go horribly wrong. For whom, they didn't know, but Sunni felt it. Another wave of fear crashed over them, and they took out their wrench hesitantly.
"Okay. Sunni, just go do tasks somewhere else." Sunni told herself, and forced herself to walk out of Lab. Just then, she bumped into Ruth. "Where are you going?" Ruth asked. "To... Storage..." They answered awkwardly.
"Okay, then. Have you finished all the tasks here?" Ruth asked. "Not really, I... I just wanted to get some fresh air." Sunni replied. Ruth shrugged. "Oh well, then I'm going to finish them. Enjoy your... fresh air."
Ruth pushed past Sunni and headed inside. Sunni swallowed, and started to walk out. But they still couldn't shake the feeling off.
Sunni looked back at Ruth, heading inside the building.

Mooni looked at the Admin Map. "So, one in Lab, two in O2, that's probably Caylee and Nexus, one in Comms, and one in Weapons." They said loudly. "Oh, and that's me in Admin. Nice." They left the map and went to the doors next to them.
Mooni gently tapped on the button next to the white doors and they opened with a hiss. Mooni stepped inside and the doors closed behind them. Mooni waited and then stepped out of Decontamination.
Yes, Mooni knew they had said to go to Office, and they had. They had done all the tasks already.
Mooni knew it was dangerous to go into Specimen, considering Aiden and all that. However, they weren't scared of the dark, so they figured that if they stayed far away from the smashed jars, they would be safe. The tasks needed doing, anyways. They figured no one would bother them there, and they needed space, definitely. Besides, Mooni wasn't afraid of dying, so there were really no cons to this plan.
Mooni headed for the Unlock Manifolds task, then the Store Artifacts task. Then, they did the Upload Data. While they were waiting for it to finish, they sat down next to the red box, sighing. "I'm the only one that knows." They thought. "I don't think they see it, but well... we're not safe yet."
They buried their head in their arms, silently crying to themselves. A small 'ding' notified Mooni that the task was done, but they didn't care. They needed to let this out.
They were only 12, yet they had gone through so much. Being a young astronaut, it was honestly expected, as astronauts' job was to find new places for humans to live without them being taken over or infiltrated by Impostors. Still... Mooni felt stressed. Stressed more than ever.
It was just all too much to take. Mooni didn't expect to be stranded on Polus, and after losing Sunni...as in their brother. Why Mooni was so dramatic when they heard Sunni's name... it was because the name brought up too many memories.
Oh, how Mooni wanted to just end it all right here. Oh, how they wanted to curl up in a ball and never wake up again. How they wanted to join Sunni in heaven... yet they knew, Sunni wouldn't want this. He gave his life, now Mooni had to make sure he didn't die in vain.
"Sunni..." Mooni's hands clenched into fists. He had sacrificed himself to save Mooni from getting killed by the Impostors... Mooni had to go on. For him. For Sunni.
Mooni took a deep breath and stood up, wiping away their tears. "There's no time for crying." They told themselves. "I have to live." They decided to leave Specimen, now the tasks were done. They walked up to Upper Decontamination, opening the doors and walking inside.
Another wave of white fog washed over them, and they flinched. After a while, the doors on the other side opened. They immediately smelled a weird smell, a smell of... blood.
(hehehe)
They had a confused look on their face, but they kept going. The stench was even stronger now that they were out of Decontamination, without the fresh smell of the fog. They waved a hand in front of their nose, wincing.
They decided to check out the smell. It seemed to be coming from... the bathroom. Mooni tentatively walked towards the stalls. The smell seemed to be coming directly from the middle stall.
Mooni tried to push open the door, but it was blocked by something. Mooni pushed as hard as they could, but it was no use. They were able to push open the door a little, but Mooni could only peek from the small gap.
They gasped as they saw what was inside.
Ruth's dead body was lying on the floor, aer body covered in blood.
"Oh my god."

Guys, I am so so sorry for the late update, I've just been busy with my other book over on Xxx_Sephalyna_xxX side. I almost lost motivation and wanted to discontinue this book, but someone gave me the motivation I needed to finish this chapter. By someone, I mean you guys.
There's a lot I need to tell you guys, so-
1.
Firstly, I think I'll extend my update schedule to two weeks? Idk if that's enough or that's too much, I'll still finish it within a week if I can, but I may take more time. Sorry!
2.
I'm writing way too much angst. At least that's what I think. Honestly, it's your character, so, if you want your character to have less angst or even want a specific p.o.v. , just tell me. Honestly I need feedback.
3.
Feedback. I need feedback. Please give me some. Do you think the chapters are too long? Like legit, just feedback. Or too short. Just general things you want me to improve on.
Alright, now that's out of the way...
Hope you 'enjoyed' this chapter, and I'll try not to make you guys wait longer XD
