Chapter Nineteen: Spider-Man

I lay in his lap, staring at the ceiling while he played with my hair.
The moment was calm and loving, perfect.
Sam leaned down and pecked my lips, smiling into the kiss.
"You're cute when you aren't fighting villains," he commented, making me glare at him.
"I'm dangerous, not cute!" I snapped.
"And yet I just called you that," Sam said, smiling in victory. Oh, he wasn't going to enjoy this victory.
Being overdramatic, I sat up and turn away from him, pouting. He light tapped my shoulder and said, "Babe?"
I skillfully ignored him. Instead, I hummed a small tune under my breath. Soon, the tune turned into a song that I like to hear. In my head, I sang the lyrics to the song as I hummed.
I'm no superman
I can take your hand
And fly you anywhere
You want to go

I can read your mind
Like a billboard sign
And tell you everything
You want to hear, but

I'll be your hero

I, I can be everything you need
If you're the one for me
Like gravity I'll be unstoppable

I, yeah, I believe in destiny
I may be an ordinary guy
Without his soul
But if you're the one for me

I'll be your hero

I'll be your hero

I'll be your hero

Searching high and low
Trying every road
If I see your face
I'll barely know

I'll put my trust in fate
That you will come my way
And if it's right
It's undeniable, yeah

I'll be your hero

I, I can be everything you need
If you're the one for me
Like gravity I'll be unstoppable
I, yeah I believe in destiny
I may be an ordinary guy
Without his soul
But if you're the one for me

I'll be your hero

I'll be your hero

I'll be your hero

So incredible
Some kind of miracle
When it's meant to be
I'll become a hero
So I'll wait, wait
Wait, wait for you

I'll be your hero

I, I can be everything you need
If you're the one for me
Like gravity I'll be unstoppable

I, yeah I believe in destiny
I may be an ordinary guy
With heart and soul
But if you're the one for me
I'll be your hero

I'll be your hero

I'll be your hero

Hero~

I smiled to myself as I finished the tune. If you hadn't already noticed, dear reader, that song was Hero by Sterling Knight. Funny, I consider Sam to be my hero.

Two hands wrapped around my waist and the person who they belonged to kissed my neck.

"I never took you as the singing type," he commented. I smiled, remembering when he sang to me and I made the same remark.

"You did hear me sing at the Spider-Man play right?" I asked him.

"Yea, I did and it was lovely," he said, pulling me into his lap.

I laid my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. I felt calm, at peace. Only Sam could make me feel this was. One thought kept nagging at my head though. Where was the usual snarky and rude Sam? I smiled to myself. He's gone and was replaced with a sweet caring Sam who would never hurt me if he had the chance. Instead of pranking me, he cared about my well-being. He loves me. He loves me. Sam Alexander loves me. That thought kept turning in my head. He loves me and me only. I'm his and he's mine. And I love it this way. No one can change that, no matter what they say.
